This is another book I found on my Facebook feed. I enjoy the supernatural books and this one did not dissappoint. The chemistry between Ren and Ivy was hot. Good thing I read this book when I did as it has a cliffhanger and can't wait for Torn to come out to see where it all goes. Tink is hilarious and who does not love a story about 2 people that should not be together. 5 stars!!

Jennifer Armentrout does it again. I thoroughly enjoyed The Covenant Series and now I'm totally hooked on Wicked. This book has it all, a secret organization within a secret organization whose sole purpose is to protect all of us humans from the evil fae, along with suspense, romance, humor, you name it. Ivy and Ren are great together but throw in Tink, Ivy's snarky unexpected roommate, who is a winged Brownie, and now you have set the stage for an awesome read. Can't wait for Torn book 2 to be released.

Great paranormal series about fae and The Order who try to protect our world and humans from them. I loved Tink (a "brownie" who reminds me of a sprite or a fairy) and Ren (a member of The Elite (a higher sect in The Order) and Ivy (a member of The Order and the main character who takes care of Tink and begins a relationship with Ren). Can't wait to dive into book 2.

JLA never disappoints. Tink is one of my all-time favorite characters of hers, and I can't wait to see the rest of this world unravel! Most definitely worth the read, the re-read, and a 5-star review!

Wicked creates a brilliant world of the evil Fae and the Order who slay them to protect mankind. Set against the rich backdrop of New Orleans which ads to the mystique and realism of the storyline.
Well developed characters who fall for each other with a palpable passion. Some plot decisions felt obvious but that never takes away from the development of the relationships. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I never bother with book reviews, but I could not sit idly by without commenting on the best piece of paranormal fiction I've read to date, hands down - and I've read a crap ton. Amazeballs! I love the character development. Tink the Brownie made me laugh 'til I cried, like ugly cried...ugly laughed? I stepped into this story and wished I could have take up permanent residence. I am waiting with bated breath for Book 2.

I've read this author before and liked her books. This one is fairly dull. The backstory doesn't make any sense (one moment she's trained, another she isn't, for people who've been doing this for a long time they don't know anything....). The characters are very shallow. Just enough to make the sex scenes steamy but that's all there is there. I do not recommend it.

Wonderfully written. Armentrout did a great job of using the location of this story to add to the drama! While I suspected the ending, it still was a shock. Once again she left me saying "No! You can't leave it like this!" I can't wait to see where Ivy ends up in the next book! Loved the romance, mystery and the snappy dialogue as always! Armentrout wrote another great story.

I absolutely love Jennifer Armentrout and I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. This book takes you to New Orleans and the mystery of the Fae world. I'm afraid if I say anymore I will ruin the surprises of this book. My only disappointment is that the book had to end and that I will now have to wait until summer 2015 to get the next one. If you've been in a book funk lately, like myself, this will totally refresh your love for reading.

First i would like to say I loved tink best charecter in the story. Ivy is not smart i wanted to smack her at times. She also dont know how to keep her mouth shut. Ren the only thing he contributed to the story was sex. He did kill some fae. The best part about this book is the action and the twist to the story at the end. The action in the book is the reason i am giving it Four stars.

I loved this book. Actually I love everything Jennifer Armentrout writes. She's a master at her craft. Her characters are so real and relatable, you forget that this is just a book. You are pulled into this incredible world she has created. Wicked was the first book of the trilogy and I will be sure to read the next two.

Aside from the basic concept of killing "immortals" being a repetitive theme, the originality is wearing out on that aspect, I loved this book. All the snark and quirky quips... love it like usual. Jennifer Armentrout is one of my newfound favorite authors. I'll read every book of hers she ever writes.

I absolutely loved this story. When I saw the front on this cover. I thought this book would be related to merfolke, but I was terrible wrong. So ivy is the main character and she lives and works a different live than a normal human. Obligation is the key to this girl, until she someone who would open her up to feelings she has thrown away. With ivy’s Things are about to get even worse than than not average. To find out ivy’s Story was wicked! Extremely amazing book

JLA is well loved for a reason. Her characters and their stories completely captive you and leave you begging for more. Wicked is no exception, with very little, if anything to complain about. Fantasy fans and romance livers alike will enjoy this magical tale of forbidden passions and finding a place to belong.

Jennifer is just an outstanding writer. I've read pretty everything she has put out and I'm never let down. This book is completely different from everything else she has written and that's hard to do when you write as many as she does. Ivy and Ren are just so perfect for each other. I love the chemistry and also the friendship they share. The action is plenty and the ending will leave you wanting the next one now!!!!

This story started out good. I liked Ivy and wanted to know more about her past and then it became pretty predictable when Ren showed up. Of course Ivy is goin to fall for Ren and he is hiding some secret from her, similar plot line as other fantasy novels. I was not impressed with the amount of language nor the sexual idioms that were placed in the book. Sadly, these two things made me stop reading about half way through, and the fact that I was more skimming than actually reading the story. It started out good and had great potential and then it headed down hill from there.

A great start to a new series by Jennifer Armentrout.. A new take on the Fae and the secret order charged with protecting mankind. The mail lead is supremely hot, and manages to get through the walls the lead has built around her heart. A sweet romance with an intriguing storyline. I can't wait for book 2!

Leave it to Jennifer L. Armentrout to put a fresh spin on the Paranormal genre. I just wish I had discovered this book once the whole series was finished because this book has a cliffhanger. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but I am admittedly an impatient person! I will be recommending this series to my friends, though.

Really enjoyed reading this book. The excitement and romance just kept building page by page. Loved the comic relief that came in the form of a pet brownie named Tink. Can't wait for the next book to find out how the whole plot is resolved. If you enjoy the world of fantasy with its battles and deep loves, you'll love this book, too.

I love this book. I really connected with the characters. Jennifer knew her world and immersed me in it.
Would not recommend for younger teens, but older college age is great.
I myself am an older adult, but love the fantasy romances.

Dear Jennifer,
PLEASE! Either write faster or write worse! If you write worse, I won't like your books as much. As it is, I get so caught up in your books that I can't stand waiting between sequels! I know this is a problem, so I bought White Hot Kiss and left it to sit on my reader, gathering virtual dust, until the entire trilogy comes out before I start it. Why I let myself start Wicked, I don't know, but I loved it! I guess I thought that more of the series was out. *SIGH* I will resign myself to wait for more. I guess I'll go read Stay With Me now. I'm sure I'll love it, too, but at least those are standalone. :)
Please write faster,
Melissa

How Jennifer Armentrout continues to write such amazing books is astounding. I have read all of her books and I keep thinking that this one can't possibly be as fantastic as the last but she astounds me every time with how original her stories are. They are the perfect combination of relatability and originality.
I can't wait for the sequel. Jennifer Armentrout has done it yet again!!

I love the characters, the setting, and the story line. I absolutely love Tink. He was the extra awesome and has me ready to go back and read again. I hate that I have to wait till summer 2015 to read the sequel but love that we get another world filled with fantastic characters to enjoy. Ivy and Ren's relationship progressed at a great speed. I enjoy the snarky comments and witty comebacks.
Great read!!
If you are thinking of buying... stop thinking and one-click this book.

3.5 Stars. Always loving the characters that Jennifer Armentrout creates, I found this story a little bit harder to connect to at first. The plot took a while to set up, but once it was established the story began to increase in risk.

Unfortunately, Wicked wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. While the paranormal elements are different than other JLA paranormal reads, the plot line was scarily similar:
Snarky heroine manages to catch the eye of the devastatingly hot hero (check)
The world is about to be destroyed and it's up to the heroine and hero to save the day (check)
Heroine ends up being a halfling/half-blood/half-alien/half-something (check)
I couldn't help but be reminded of both the Lux and Covenant series. The only difference here was there was more sex - which is not a bad thing. While I love first person POV, I felt like I barely got any insight into Ren as a character...other than the fact that he was hot, and thought Ivy was beautiful. Honestly, the way these two went on about how the other looked got a little old after awhile. We get it, JLA. Ren and Ivy are the two most gorgeous people on the planet.
And the plot did nothing to make up for this. I saw the various "twists" coming from a mile away. Toward the end, I was skimming.
Needless to say, I don't think this is a series I'll be sticking with. Not only do series/trilogies generally annoy me, but there wasn't much that stood out about this one. This is disappointing since I'm a big JLA fan...which you probably couldn't guess that from my review.

There is nothing not to love about this novel. Ivy is strong and independent. Ren is so beyond compassionate and oozes the essence of pure masculinity. I literally felt my heart break for both characters through the novel and Ivy's breakdown had me in tears. By far my easiest 5 star I have ever given.

Jennifer Armentrout has a way of making me fall in love with the strangest things (aliens, gargoyles, demons, etc...). This book had me falling for a member of the Elite and a spunky Brownie. I laughed, swooned, and my pulse raced with the action. Armentrout's books just keep getting better and better!

I love Jennifer Armentrout. Ren and Ivy have amazing chemistry and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tink. I get lost in all of Jennifer's books - this one was no exception. My only complaint with any of her series is when I read them when they first come out and the suspense of not findind out the HEA till months down the road gets to me.

I did not think that Jennifer could create a character as hot as Damon but she has done it with Ren. I could not put this book down. It kept calling to me to finish it and now that I have, I need more..... Can't wait for the next book. Hopefully it will be here before we know it.

Frankly, I don't know if the story would generally be considered predictable. I've personally read so many YA romantic urban fantasies and this New Adult book isn't much different from them. The only big difference is the sex scenes, which I enjoyed quite a bit. But getting back to the point, I've learned how the formula for these books go, so predicting the twists wasn't difficult. But, for someone who hasn't read dozens and dozens of these books, I imagine it is a very satisfying read, provided you don't mind the grammar errors, though I'm sure that's Kindle's fault rather than the publisher's.

It's kind of killing me to have to write this review. I love Jennifer L. Armentrout and I really haven't come across any of her books so far that I haven't absolutely loved. Her Lux series is my absolute favorite, mainly because she has a really great writing style that combines great characters with snappy dialogue that leaves me laughing. I've recently been reading more romance as well, so when I heard that she was writing a paranormal NA book, lets just say that I was more than a little excited. Lets be real, if you've read Stone Cold Touch or the follow up, White Hot Kiss by her, you'll know that you wish she would have taken things a little bit farther in her characters hot and heavy make out sessions.
The synopsis for Wicked sounded intriguing. New Orleans is an area rich in culture and with a history of paranormal activity, so setting a book there seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately, nothing ever really grabbed my interest. The plot seemed a little played out to me to be honest. There's an Order of fighters who are supposed to keep humanity safe by killing the fae, who have been living among humans, turning them into food and semi-zombies. Elements of the book had a lot of potential, and there were details that made me think hmm. . .that was pretty cool. But overall, I just couldn't get sucked into the story like I normally can with her books. Usually i'm putting aside everything else to read her books and this time, I was setting it down for a few days at a time.
Part of what made me keep setting it down was the pacing. I've read her contemporary NA books and loved them, she knows how to keep a balance between steamy scenes and keeping the plot moving, but in this case it seemed very disjointed. You get a lot of hot and heavy scenes alternated with action, but nothing flowed in a logical way. It seemed to take a long time to build up to the climax of the book and then of course, it all gets interesting near the end. On the other hand, when the plot does get moving, I ended up being interested in where this all was going, so mission accomplished with that.
My main issue, and why I gave this 3 stars is the characters and dialogue. Jennifer L. Armentrout knows how to write great dialogue. I know she does, I've read it. I think that's why I was so disappointed with this story. The dialogue is just. . .not great. Instead of witty comments and snappy dialogue, it seems to turn toward more juvenile sentence fragments and silly insults. I was kind of annoyed by Ivy throughout a lot of the book and even though I did like Ren, I didn't love him. I thought there was a lot more potential to his character that I didn't get to see.
I think this is coming off a little more negative than I was intending. I did give it a 3 and it was an entertaining read. Would I recommend it as your first book by her? Absolutely not. But I think the idea behind the series has potential, and I'd like to see the next book work out the issues with pacing and dialogue so that she can tap into that potential to write a really interesting book. It's a case for me of having really high expectations for her as an author. I went into this expecting it be wonderful, and it was just ok. And in some cases, that almost feels worse.

The story had a great flow to it. Good charcaters, plot, etc... It's not like J. Armentrout's other series. This one has some "sexy" parts in it, so don't let your teens read it. Jennifer L Armentrout did it again. I loved every minute of this book. It was kind of a slow start but I found Ivy to be a bad ass main character. She was smart, witty, brave and stood up for herself and I admired that a lot considering most heroines are so about the guys and have 0 confidence. Ren was oh so juicy and I can't wait to continue on in this series.
