Obsession (Arum)

I enjoyed the book, humour and stubbornness in spades but I kept getting whiplash with both character's in the I form. I would have to repeatedly stop to backtrack and figure if the "I" was talking about the him or her and it continually disrupted the flow.
As this was the first book I've read in this series it was hard at times to understand the backstory but that was easier than all the "I" sentences for both character's.
I'll check the samples close to see if other books are written the same way before I continue with other books in this series.

Super sexy book, and I loved that she wrote a book for these two, since we see a few glimpses of them in her other books and if you're like me, constantly curious about the other characters back stories, these extra books are a life saver. (still obsessively waiting for backstories for a million different characters in the twilight series)
And holy shhh, this book has some sexy scenes. I had to step away from it occasionally cause it was just hot.

Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout (stand alone). Super sexy alpha alien and the human who loves him. Government and other aliens out to get them, they're on the run. This is an old spin-off/one-off from her Lux series. I personally loved it and want more but JA says there's no more......for now. So if you want a fabulous book that doesn't have a cliff hanger but will leave you wanting more like an unfinished candy bar, grab it!

Obsession was just as good as the Lux series but with incredibly sizzling, toes curling sex :)
I loved the Lux series and pictured the Arum as a hideous species and just inherently evil.
Hunter is definitely oh so much more.
I was not sure what to make of him but the more I read, the more attractive he became.
He also was extremely funny.
I don't see that there is a continuation to this story and there was tan epilogue which USA real bummer.
This story was great and I highly recommend it

Disappointingly a quick read but full of action and hotness. Armentrout's writing has become more polished over the years. She is one of my favorite writers to date. It is not often I can find books with unique well developed story lines and characters. The main characters pull you in and are not weak or overbearing. It's tit for tat. Lots of twists and turns with good sensual and electric "love" scenes in between to keep the romance addicts happy.

This book is definitely different. I like different. There was plenty of action, chemistry, tension, plot, and weirdness to keep me from interrupting my reading. The hero took a while to warm up to and the heroine at least attempted to toughen up. Yes, I would recommend this book to other readers that are looking for something different and not expecting a lot of romance from their characters. This book is more survival and some sex. Keep on reading my fellow bookworms!

I thought this was a very enjoyable read. I really liked the authors writing style--this is the first book of her I read, and will definitely be trying out some more. The plot had a nice flow to it--I wasn't confused by a timeline that has a lot of jumping around (I am finding this a lot in books I am reading). The H is what I consider a "caveman alpha". The h is sassy, yet vulnerable. It has very suspenseful action and very spicy intimate scenes. I am putting it in my keeper file!

An offshoot story of the amazing YA "Lux" series--here written a la hot & sexy new adult style. An amazing writer! Favorite author--period! Plot is interesting, interaction hot & sexy. Best part is the characters are amazing and their dialogue memorable--the story just jumps off the page! Wow! Amazingly well written...You'll want to enjoy this book over and over again! If you really enjoy this author, you might want to check out her racy new adult books under her pen name, J Lynn.

I really enjoyed seeing not only the adult perspective but the Arum's perspective in this book. This book was super smexy and action packed. I loved the chemistry and the relationship between Serena and Hunter. Honestly, I wish there was more because I want more Hunter. Loved him.

I couldn't put this book down and I definitely want more. Another winner from Jennifer L. Armentrout who is quickly becoming one of my top 5 favorite authors and I just can't get enough.

Jennifer Armentrout did not disappoint with Obsession! It was a Great story about an Arum and a human. It is a side stand alone story from her Lux series on the more Adult version style. Sex, fights and true love - a story that I did NOT want to end. I thought I was ONLY suppose to like the Luxen, but I found that there is GOOD & BAD in all races... I LOVED it! I hope to see Hunter in future Lux series stories, but if not I will definitely be re-reading this story sometime in the future!

Loved this book! Not only because it was written by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but also because I was able to find out a lot more about the world that she created in the Lux series. And now I will never look/read about an Arum the same way again after reading about Hunter.

Also, I was very excited to see Daemon in there, if just for a small part.

Amazing novel. Will definitely recommend it to other readers because I absolutely adore JLA's works!

After reading through more than half of the Luxe series, I never thought that there could come a day that I would fall in love with an Arum. JLA is definitely playing with my emotions. She has captured the perfect Alpha in Hunter and the perfect match for him in Serena. I loved this book and love this series. This is one hot fricken read.

I loved this book from beginning to end the writing was superb anything Jennifer puts out is gold she is by far my favorite writes and HUNTER!! Wow words cannot describe he is yummy and bad ass by far my most favorite bad ass dominant Alpha male character I have ever read and I have read ALOT of Alpha male books this story will take you on a ride and show You things u never would have thought of about the luxen and arum community thank you Jennifer for giving us a insight into both sides of these awesome stories I'm so happy to be able to enjoy crossing over from the YA part of this fabulous story to this adult book GREAT JOB!!

Another great book from JLA. I adored The Lux Series so I had to read this book about the arum. I never thought I could even like an arum. Hunter was so alpha and I loved every second of this book. It was non stop action and romance. I could not put it down. JLA just knows how to pull you into a story and not let you go until the very end. I hope to read more of Hunter and Serena in the future. I highly recommend this book!

This was a great book. I absolutely love that the author took her own world that she's created over a number of novels and turned it on its head! I love that she took that bad guys and had c be at least one of them a soul. All the different places she could go with the two intertwined series are exciting and limitless. I absolutely can't wait to see what comes next, which is the only bad part.......waiting

OK, this was hot. Definitely not YA, but she does warn readers ahead of time. I love, love bad guys! He's so dangerous and bad but not really. :) I don't want to give spoilers, but I'll just say that this book also got 2 reads from me. Love it and I'd love to read more about the Arum, maybe about Lore and Sin and their family dynamic? More, please!

I had been counting down the days till the Obession release, and Jennifer did not disappoint. Obession gives a new look at the age old battle of Luxen vs. Arum and makes you truly wonder who's actually wrong in all of this. Hunter and Serena were awesome main characters, their funny and down-to-earth attitudes had me laughing the entire and not to mention their undeniable attraction. Mrs. Armentrout does not plan to write a sequel but I do hope that changes, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the Lux Series or wants to read from two sides.

I started this after finishing the Lux series, and was quite honestly just trying to move on and shake the 'end of an amazing series' depression that had followed Opposition. This book was the perfect distraction. Action, romance, snarkiness & the best characters from the first page to the last. Worth the read, hands down.

This book was named correctly. It makes you not want to put it down or end. Can't wait until the next one. If you haven't read any of the other books you might not see whats going on but I have read them all and can't wait for more. I see so other characters from her Lux series showing up in this one so I recommend both series to read, but not for underage readers.

LOVED this book! Really helped the reader gain a different perspective of the Luxen and Arum relationship, and how it isn't always black and white! Also helps you gain more knowledge of the DOD and such. And did I mention all of its steamy scenes! You may have to take a cold showet or jump the first guy you see after reading this book! A must read for anyone but definitely a must read for The Lux Series fans!

I have found a new favorite author--Jennifer Armentrout! I also love the books she writes as J. Lynn. I loved the characters, especially Hunter becoming more "human." The story was a bit thin, but if you read her Lux series, it doesn't seem that way. And I loved Hunter and Serena's story so much, I didn't mind that the book wasn't filled with an overwhelming story line. I definitely recommend this book.

Jennifer Armentrout, my hat is off to you! I loved, loved this book! I was never one for much paranormal, but you have made me a believer!

I am just upset that this is a one hit for the Arum species. I was told that Jennifer has no plans to write another in this vein.

Hunter is just smoking hot! I am enchanted by this whole series both this adult version and the YA. The Arum are not what I thought ... but I don't want to give away any spoilers.
If you are intrigued by a dominant male alien character and a strong female heroine who is unafraid to challenge him - you will love this very creative and romance filled addition to the series...

i never thought id like an arum! they were portrayed as the villians in the lux series and in this book you get to see that not all of them are bad! i really hope theres more arum books id love to read them!

I will have to admit I purchased this book without knowing it was a paranormal book. Only a few pages in did I realize it was and normally I would stop reading. ( just not my thing) but I couldn't put it down! I was intrigued through out the entire book! I just could wait to see what was going to happened next. Great romance, great book!

I picked this read because of the allure it hinted at for an alien race here among us. It turned out to be a great story that I highly recommend. Hooked on it all and can't wait for another on this same story line.

Okay you need to read Obsidian, Onyx, & Opal first then read this book. If you've already read those books then you get a great glimpse into the mind of the arum and learn that everything is not as it seems. All luxen aren't good and all arum aren't bad. There was no point in this reading that I was bored. READ THIS!!!!

I eat up everything from this author! She weaves such amazing stories that you find yourself canceling things in your real life just so you can keep reading. This book was no exception! Love how this fits into the Lux series as well :) I'm still holding out that Hunter and Deamon will work together in Opposition!

I loved reading the Lux series, and was looking forward to reading the other side of the story. It did not disappoint. I loved reading from the Arum's point of view. I now face the dilemma of choosing which side I like better. Hunter vs. Daemon is hard choice on favorite alien. I would recommend reading the Lux series before reading this one, but it could stand alone without too much confusion. I definitely recommend to those who have read the Lux series, and to those interested in science fiction romance.

Oh Jennifer Armentrout, you did it again. This book was pure crack. I couldn't put it down. It was interesting to read a story from the Arum side. Never thought I would sympathize with them. Some characters from the Lux series make an appearance. And now I also kinda need the fourth Lux book.

Everything Jennifer Armentrout touches is gold.
I love the idea of the telling a story through the eyes of an Arum since weve seen so much of it through the Luxen. The plot was interesting and it gets you thinking, and it is nothing like the lux series so there is no repetition of character types or anything like that. The story is original and fun and an intriguing look into the world of the arum/luxen/DOD connection.
Plus, there are some hot scenes mixed with great character development.
Read this book, you can thank me later.

Holy Arum!

Obsession is a spinoff of the Lux series with NA edge. Even though it is a stand alone, I would recommend to read it between Origin & Opposition. This book foretells how Hunter & Serena meet. An awesome & sexy read.

Fun and exciting mystery/romance, that covers the spectrum of government secrets, alien life firms and star-crossed (literally) lovers. I wasn't expecting to enjoy the story as much as I did, but Serena and Hunter had my hooked from the second chapter.

Not a bad read, for something paranormal.

Caaaaaaause I'm obsessed. Jennifer Armentrout is an absolutely amazing author. Personally, books that get me have to have sassy female protagonists and a sharp tongued male lead who can keep up. I'm a sucker for witty banter. And bless Jen's heart for giving us just that. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading any of her other books, I'd highly recommend doing so. Obsession, specifically, contains a lot of sexually charged situations, so if you're not ok with uh, sex then I'd recommend her Lux series. Same world, more teen angst. Love. Happy reading :)

I enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the next. I will admit that I was seriously hating Hunter at first. I'm all for the smartass bad boy type but he was even pissing me off in the beginning.....buuuut he redeemed himself and I understood him a bit more towards the end.

Jennifer is such an amazing author. I love getting lost in her worlds. This book takes place in the Lux world and it definitely made me look at it differently. I'm curious how its going to effect the following books and I'm hoping we here more about Serena and Hunter.
