Good read. Interesting plot, especially when it comes to those who have been married for awhile - makes you think. You root for the characters and laugh at their antics. There's someone that everyone can identify with in this book.

I enjoyed The Arrangement. Very humorous with some serious learn from life moments. I will recommend this to my friends to read. When I read the author's bio and learned she wrote for "Bunheads", I could see a similar humor. I enjoyed that show.

The ending was different then I expected. I laughed, I worried how and if they could survive the arrangement. I liked the passages at the beginning of each chapter it gave me time to reflect and think about meeting and dating my husband.

Amazing book! So insightful with regard to marriage. Dunn has the ability to portray her characters honestly but with tolerance for their very human failures. As I read about Lucy and Owen's ridiculous choices Shakespeare's line from Midsummer Night's Dream kept coming to mind: "What fools these mortals be!". However in Dunn's book I found myself caring very much that they would come through their foolishness and triumph in the end. Happily, they do just that. An added bonus is her writing. She has mastered her craft and delivered a classic!

The premise of open marriage is antithetical to my beliefs, and yet I read this book with that subject being the main theme.. It made some very interesting points about the loss of excitement in a marriage, and the desperation to be alive again in a sexual way. But it is rare that one can separate emotions and intimacy, and anyone in a loving, committed marriage would do well to put some romance into your own marriage, and not seek it elsewhere. That is the moral of the story in this well written, well developed and often laugh out loud funny novel by Sarah Dunn.

This is a semi-interesting concept (though it's not all that original), but the characters were basically just thinly drawn stereotypes - white, middle aged, middle class, either pretentious try-hards or racist, sexist jerks. Almost impossible to get invested in them.
