The recipes were good and easy, probably no combinations I couldn't have come up with on my own, but it was nice to have quantities/ratios spelled out for me. It was also nice in my sleep-deprived state to not have to try and come up with different combinations. I would definitely recommend this book for yourself or as a unique shower gift.

I have been using this cookbook for the past four months to create quick, easy recipes for my eight month old. We recently moved on to more varied dishes (she loved the fish with veggies and cheese and lentils with carrots and sweet potatoes among others) The recipes are easy, healthy, and delicious! I would reccomend it to everyone considering making their own baby food.

Most of the recipes (including a carrot recipe) has onions in it, which isn't a great ingredient for babies. I thought maybe the author knew more than me, so I fed it to him anyway--he threw up all day. The author has no real experience with kids (besides her own), so she doesn't know which ingredients should be avoided.

LOVE these recipes! I still make the Eat Your Greens for my 16-month just to give her the extra veggie boost. She loves it, and it is way cheaper than buying the pouches that lots of parents do. I used this book with my first two children and plan to use with my third that is on the way. We make the recipes when we have time and then freeze in ice cube trays for ease and portability.

When my son turned 4 months, my pediatrician suggested me to cook the baby food myself and recommended me this book. Because I really like my pediatrician, I bought this book without any doubt. All the recipes are interesting and they look really good and nutritious. My son actually likes the food I made with these recipes. It's so tasty, I finish it myself when he can't finish his food. Most of the recipes are fairly easy to make too. It's a plus for me as a working mom. I can make two kinds in one night that lasts for at least a week. However, be mindful with the cheese. There are some recipes that I found are way too salty for a baby because of the amount of cheese added. I thought salt is not recommended for baby less than 1 year old. But overall, I really like this book.

I should have looked more closely at the dimensions and number of pages listed before I purchased this because it's just the size of a typical children's book. I was expecting a larger cookbook-sized book with more information.
It's cover is well-designed and the illustrations are great, but I expected a little more substance. After reading through it, I've determined that I can just blend fruits or steamed veggies and feed them to baby. It's really that simple.
Overall, it's a nice-to-have book, but I think it's one of those things that a new parent gets and later realizes really isn't necessary.

Good recipes, but the age recommendations on the recipes were all off (allergenic foods way earlier than recommended by AAP), which I didn't think would bother me but it did and I barely used the book.

Great book for making your own baby food. We used it to make all the first foods for our daughter and she loved them. It not that big of a deal to make your own baby food. We used regular ice cube trays to make the cubes. Saved them in zip lock bags for a week in the freezer. We send this book to all our friends and relatives.

I love this recipe book! Their are so many wonderful recipes in it. A lot of recipes in this book is stuff i would cook for dinner for my husband and myself and i love that its real food and real recipes not just mashed banana, pureed carrots etc. It has a lot of different things like beef casseroles, and risottos. It also gos up by age, 6 months, 7-9, 9-12 so you know what you can try for that period. Im really pleased with the recipes in this book and my 9 month old daughter loves them! Iv been using this book since she was 7 months.

I like this book. It has good information on making baby food that jives with current AAP recommendations regarding when to introduce foods. People following a more conservative feeding approach or who start solids much earlier than 6 months might not find it as useful at first.

Nice recipes, photos, and discussions. I found myself using the same recipes from this book over and over again, as some call for items that aren't as easy to find in a small town grocery store. This is the first and only recipe book I used for making my son's baby food :)

One of the most helpful aspects of this cookbook is the labeling up in the corners, identifying what age group the recipe is suitable for, if it can be frozen, and how many servings it makes. Although I agree with the reviews that have taken issue with her use of fresh carrots and spinach (because of the AAP's suggestions), I have made the recipes without those ingredients and then put in canned baby food in the last steps. Overall, really tasty food with some unique and delicious combinations and easy to make.

I had been looking for a book that was resourceful in terms of information about homemade baby foods. This had great recipes to start with as well as nutritional information. I'm looking forward to many happy meals with my daughter! (I also have another of the author's book which was equally excellent.)

Only drawback is that the recipes don't yield very much so if you want to stock up you have to double or triple a recipe. Good stuff except some minor annoyances like using cheese and things like that too soon (in my opinion) when labeling for age appropriateness of certain recipes.

If you have someone who cares about not giving their new baby prepared, packaged junk with preservatives, colorants, etc. in it...this is perfect. Way better to feed your baby pureed veggies than preservatives!

Great recipes and the baby seemed to like most of them. The pediatrician advised us that we should not feed certain foods to the baby before 1 year but many of those foods are present in dishes in this book. Also, some of the items are, for lack of a better word, oriented around British tastes and are a little foreign to what you might have in a typical American fridge. But all in all, if you want to make babyfood yourself, this is a helpful way to start.

The book is excellent quality, very well written with a lot of pictures and just enough information to make fast, easy, and healthy food for young babies. It is nice reference for busy moms because it provides just enough information that most people are looking for. Recipes are easy and do not require any special culinary skills or tools. However, if you need book with more `scientific' information about baby food this is not the book for you.

Really not what i expected. Terrible recipes that involve butter?! Its a goid book to give you ideas on what to puree but definitely not worth buying. Besides, i thought that the book had more recipes. There is not a lot to go on.

Bought for my daughter-in-law who plans on making all of my grandson's baby food. It gives ideas that are really out of the box for ingredients you wouldn't think of. It also explains at what age babies can start eating these certain foods. This is not your typical one ingredient how to-book. Worth the money.

I could have probably found all this information for free onlin but its good to have it available anytime i need it on the counter. I wish i had more meat recipes, like just how to make plain beef, chicken, etc...basic stuff. But its great for any fruit/veggie baby food you can imagine!

I was looking for something that listed each type of food- when to give it- different ways to prepare it. This book gives different recipes and that's about it. I'll be looking forward to getting Wholesome Homemade Baby Food's book that just came out.
