Crying Wolf is my first Rochelle Paige book, but it won't be my last! I enjoyed this shifter book lots and I'll for sure be checking out the other novellas in this series!

Grace is starting over in a new town. After escaping an abusive boyfriend, she needs a fresh start. She's smart, strong and resourceful, and that's the only reason she got away. She ends up in a small town applying to be a waitress at a bar. Little does she know that the owner of the bar could tell she was meant to be his from the moment he laid eyes on her.

Hunter is the alpha of his pack. He's protective of his pack and possessive of Grace from the moment he lays eyes on her. Yes this was short so there was some element of insta-love. I didn't care. I still enjoyed the heck out of it. With one of the MC being a shifter, their instincts are different as is their chemistry and bonding so it's not as unbelievable as other insta-love scenarios.

If you're looking for a short, hot, fast paced novella, pick this one up! I wish it were longer but I'm looking forward to getting more of these characters in the second novella!

One of my ‘guilty-pleasures’ when it comes to reading romance books are stories about shifters. The men are tough, over-the-top Alphas, the women are sassy and the love/chemistry is instant. Crying Wolf by Rochelle Paige is an enjoyable shifter story, but I do wish it was longer, to do the characters and their story more justice.

“He was six and a half feet of pure sexiness wrapped in lean muscle with thick, almost black hair and eyes that reminded me of melted chocolate. The moment my eyes locked with his, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. The only other time I’d felt anything close was when I had met Sam, but even that didn’t compare to the intensity of this moment.”

Grace Shaw is a young woman on the run. While she was grieving her parents, who died in an accident, she thought she fell in love with a sweet, handsome man. But as it turns out, his sweet, caring behavior was a façade, showing her his true face when he has isolated her from her friends. After the abuse starts to get physical, Grace comes up with a plan to escape her boyfriend, in which she succeeds. When she comes to the small town of Wolf’s Point, and decides to stay there for a while, she meets bar owner Hunter Tate. From the moment she sees him, she knows he’s not like any other men she’d ever met.

Hunter Tate has a lot of responsibilities. As the Alpha of his pack he makes the rules, and people come to him for advice and guidance. Besides that, he owns a pub is the shifter town of Wolf’s Point. After the untimely death of his parents, he and his brothers have lived with their grandmother. She always told them the stories about their fated mates, how they could recognize her. The moment Hunter meets Grace he feels she’s the woman for him.

“Her gaze shifted to me and her eyes widened, a hint of anxiety entering them for a brief moment. I’d spent most of my life cultivating a healthy dose of fear in others, but I hated the sight of it directed at me when it was coming from her.”

As is normal in shifter books, relationships develop in the blink of an eye. However, in Crying Wolf it takes a bit of time, since Grace isn’t a shifter but a normal human. Hunter takes it slowly with her, until the point he can’t control himself anymore. Although Grace is Hunters fated mate, she does have a choice and has to accept his claiming. But since she’s very attracted to Hunter, and feels safe with him, the claiming is only a formality.

Crying Wolf is a sweet, easy shifter read. It follows the basic rules of every shifter/human story; an instant love, an over-protective Alpha and a heroine who easily accepts her lover’s shifting abilities. Hunter and Grace have great chemistry and are a great match. Since Crying Wolf is the first book in a new series, ‘the Black River Pack’, the leading men for the next books are introduced and hints about their fated mates are being given.

“But you’d belong to me too, right?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Yes, Gracie-mine. I already do. No matter what you decide. And I’m okay with whatever you think is best for you. Your happiness is what’s important here. You’re all there is for me. You and my pack.”

Although I’ve enjoyed reading Crying Wolf, it was a little predictable and on the short side. I give this story 3.5 stars.

Paranormal is one of my favorite types of books to lose myself in and I did just that with this one. The written just had the words running of the pages at me. The characters were all likeable. I am looking forward to more in this series by Rochelle Paige.

Grace Shaw is just trying to stay one step or two ahead of her ex boyfriend. He is more than she can handle. She thought he loved her. But finding out the hard way, she had to leave. Grace continues to run from town to town; afraid to settle down in case her past catching up with her. Oh she knows he will keep trying to find her and when he does it will not be good.

As she settles into a small town, she realizes that she is tired of running. She is ready to face the past if he shows up here. First she needs to find a job. As she enters the Den, looking for a job, her life will chance forever.

Hunter Tate is every girls dream, tall, handsome and alpha in everyway. He realizes that his future will never be the same once he gets a whiff of Grace and he will do everything in his power to protect what is his; even if she does not know it yet.

Grace and Hunter skate around the instant attraction that they have for each other. But when a danger presents itself, Hunter takes matters into his own hands. Can Grace deal with Hunter being over bearing and protective? Will Hunter convince Grace that they are meant to be and to join his pack? Or does the past finally come to take Grace away?

Grace plans and plots and she finally gets away from her abusive ex boyfriend and ends up in Wolf's Point where she plans to start over... for now.

Hunter is the alpha of the Black River Pack and he prefers to distance himself from humans but when he realizes the human woman who wants a job in his bar, he knows he won't be keeping his distant from her. He senses there's more to Grace and why she is determined to keep walls up around herself but he's more than willing to stand up to the challenge.

"But even though she was small, she had curves that were just begging to be touched.
Licked.
Sucked.
Bitten."

Grace is still fragile from her past but she isn't blind to what's happening between her and Hunter. She needs to decide if it's worth taking a chance on them.
Hunter is sweet and protective with Grace and all alpha. He's determined to show Grace just how worth it their love is.

"You've helped piece me back together."
"It's only fair since I've been waiting for you to make me whole,"

It is a novella so it's short with plenty packed in it I just needed more! I didn't get to connect with them as much as I would've liked to. I still really enjoyed it and it's one of my favourite shifter books!

Rochelle Paige has done it again! With Crying Wolf, she's given us another fantastic book that opens up a whole new world, and more great characters to get to know and love. I loved it!! Note: I usually rate novellas on a 3-star rating system, but as I love this series already and it will consist of several novellas, featuring different couples, I've decided to rate it on the 5-star system.

Summary:
Grace Shaw is a firm believer in love at first sight, and she thought she'd been a lucky girl to find it. The guy was good looking, adored her and had a good job. At a time when her world was crumbling, he was exactly what she wanted and needed. But her happy, content life gradually shattered when her knight in shining armor became someone she didn't even recognize. Grace knows escape is the only way, but her crazy ex is also a cop, with the resources and power that provides. Luckily, Grace thinks up a plan that will get her ex labeled as someone who cries wolf, and she's able to escape. Little does she know what's waiting for her down the road. Hunter Tate is the alpha of the Black River Pack, and known for his intelligence and control. Many rely on him for protection and advice. But coming nose to scent with his life mate threatens to undo him and shatter the carefully controlled beast inside. Hunter knew he would find his mate one day, but he wasn't expecting her to be human or filled with fear and trepidation. Making it his mission to make and keep her safe, Hunter begins the arduous task of getting behind Grace's carefully constructed walls to win her heart, body, and soul. Grace will always be looking over her shoulder, so the intensity between her and Hunter is the last thing she needs, especially since there are things she doesn't know. She tries to keep Hunter at a distance, but reasoning with a determined alpha is next to impossible. Hunter has important things to discuss with Grace, but danger catching up to her threatens to spill his secret before he's ready and take Grace from him forever.

I loved this book! I can't say it enough. I just wish it was longer so I could stay in that world that much longer. Grace was a strong heroine. I liked how quickly she worked to change her bad situation. She was smart and determined despite the intense fear she felt. Hunter, what can I say except...Wowza!! Where can I get one of him? He was dreamy and a total alpha. His protectiveness was sweet and sexy, but my favorite aspect of him was the way his human and wolf meshed so well together to make the total thrilling package. I loved him with Grace, and even wish a little bit that their "courtship" was longer, so I could see them longer. Lol. Supporting cast was excellent. I cannot wait for Spencer and Eliza's book. Spencer has a great deal of work to do, and I'm gonna enjoy being along for the ride. This series is Rochelle Paige's first foray into paranormal romance, and she knocked it out of the ballpark. It was wonderful to see another side of an author I already love. I'm looking forward to reading even more from this author and meeting more of the sexy Black River Pack! <3

I really enjoyed this short story. The characters were well written and it didn't take long to get to know them. Grace is a young, smart, scared young lady who has a sad story. She lost both her parents and fell for the wrong man. He was a man who showed her that he cared for her and slowly made her isolate herself from her friends. He became dominating and violent. He was a cop and told her that if she told anyone they would not believe her because he never left any marks on her. However, she was smart and determined, she figured out a smart way to get him to mess up. She finally decide it was time to run away but he handcuffed her and went to work. She called a friend who disliked him, who's husband was a cop too, she came over and freed her. Grace's friend had been prepared to help her knowing something would eventually happen. She gave Grace clothes and money, bought her a bus ticket and told her to run and never look back. Grace did just that she ran away and picked a little town and that is where she met the wolf of her dreams, but Grace didn't know he was a wolf. This is where the story get good and hot. Hunter is sexy and scary, but she has an instant attraction that she is not ready for. Hunter instantly knows she is his mate as soon as he smells her. They build a working relationship and it builds from there. Grace is still hiding and Hunter is her protector. The story just gets better and better and I definitely think it is a must read. I was given this book for free and just decided to write an honest review.

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

~I knew I needed to proceed carefully so I didn't scare her off. The last thing I wanted was to make her feel the need to run again. Not that she'd get very far. Now that I'd scented her, I knew I wouldn't let her get away from me.~

Grace Shaw is on the run. After fleeing from her psycho ex, she has spent the last six months looking over her shoulder, always moving, never getting close to anyone, living in fear of being found-after all, her ex is a cop so he has the resources, not to mention the determination, to find her. Now she is ready to find a place where she can maybe settle for awhile-that's when she finds herself in Wolf's Point taking a waitressing job at the local bar, having no idea how drastically her life was about to change when she meets her new boss...

Hunter Tate never expected to finally find his mate in the form of a tiny human woman, one who is clearly running from something and scared out of her mind, but now that he has found her he will do whatever it takes to protect her and make her his. The problem is, how can he convince her that she is safe with him, he would never hurt her, and oh yeah-I'm a werewolf! He has his work cut out for him but he is Alpha of the Black River Pack for a reason, and he will not let his mate get away from him...

“Don't start something you don't intend to finish.”
I wanted so desperately to be able to say that I fully intended to follow through with what my action had implied, but the words dried up in my throat. Deep in my soul, I knew that this thing between us wasn't just going to go away, but still, I hesitated out of the fear Sam had instilled in me.

It's been awhile since I've read a good paranormal romance, not for a lack of interest, it just worked out that way. I'm actually a big fan of the genre, and of Rochelle's, so when this came across my email I jumped on it. Sooo freakin glad I did. I almost forgot how much I love me a hott Alpha Werewolf. This is a novella so you don't have as much time to spend with the characters that you would with a full-length story, or a lot of time to develop a massive plot, but that didn't stop Missy Paige from packing in enough action and heat to make you feel like it was longer than it actually was. It's also doesn't stop her from giving us characters that you instantly connect with, feel for, lust after, and hope for their happiness. Not to mention the sexy times, holy s***e there was some hott-as-hell, steam up my kindle, gimme an Alpha, sex in here. No one does it quite like a werewolf. I spent so much time blushing I'm surprised I didn't hurt my hubs. There is definitely some insta-love going on in here, which generally drives me bats*** crazy, but I loved the story enough that I was able to get past it. Other than that, I really have no complaints. The story itself moved at a great pace, the characters-including the secondary cast- were all amazing (well, minus one crazy a$$ cop), and the ending was pretty damn perfect. I do wish it had been a little bit longer but that's mostly because I WANT MORE. I cannot wait for what's next from this series and with Hunter's two hott brothers involved I can only imagine what's in store.

“Strip,” I ordered as I ripped my clothes off my body. I couldn't get naked fast enough and needed to feel her bare skin against my own. The need to take her and mark her as mine was riding me hard.

Happy Reading xo Jenn @ BookwormBetties

Review by Natasha Gentile

So I have to say that this is my first shifter book. That’s right people I’m a shifter virgin, and my cherry was just popped, and what better way than Ms. Rochelle Paige!

This book is about Grace Shaw, who is in an abusive relationship. She is trying her best to get out of this relationship, but with her boyfriend being a cop, the odds are stacked against her. That is until she uses the system to her advantage. For six months, she has moved from place to place to make sure that she doesn’t get too comfortable and lets her guard down, She pulls out a map and Wolf’s Point jumps out at her.

When she settles into town she hits up the local bar, seeking employment, little did she know she would be getting so much more than a job!!

And that’s when I met him-Hunter Tate.

He was different from Sam as night is from day. As light as Sam was, Hunter was dark. He was six and a half feet of pure sexiness wrapped in lean muscle with thick, almost black hair and eyes that reminded me of melted chocolate. The moment my eyes locked with his, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. The only other time I’d felt anything close was when I had met Sam, but even that didn’t compare to the intensity of this moment. What I didn’t realize was that falling head over heels for Hunter would more than make up for all the bad that had come before him, because he wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have seriously got to get me a map to that place. I can get used to having this guy around.

She's nailed the job, much to Hunter's dismay, Hunter is not just any guy, he is the alpha of the Black River Pack. Grace tries her hardest to not give in, to fight the attraction, but what she doesn’t know is that he’s already made up his mind and is ready to claim her.

Hunter’s hand grabbed my hips and tightened for a moment when I started to move away from him. Hearing his deep sigh, I turned to see him with his head tilted back, his eyes clenched shut, and his hands fisted so tightly that his knuckles had turned white.

Nothing comes easy for this couple, not only is she human, but he is a wolf!! I never thought I would actually ever say this sentence, but that is not their only problem,! It seems the ex just doesn’t want to give up and chases her where ever she goes, it’s up to Hunter and his pack to make sure she stays safe!

When I saw that Rochelle Paige was branching out to paranormal romance, I knew I needed to get my hands on it because she definitely knows how to write alpha males and steamy scenes and watching those same characteristics play out in the shifter world was right up my alley, and boy did she deliver!

From the start, readers witness Grace Shaw's strength and perseverance. When she finds herself in an abusive relationship with no possible way out, she figures out a plan and makes her escape, starting over in a new town completely free to be herself again and live her life how she deems fit. Grace's first order of business for her new life is to get a job, unbeknownst to her, landing her right in the path of an alpha wolf who will do anything to protect and claim his mate, even if it means allowing her to keep her distance until she's ready.

Hunter Tate is 100% alpha, and he's not afraid to show it. He's domineering, overprotective, filthy mouthed and one sexy wolf. As soon as Hunter lays eyes on Grace and smells her scent, he's done for, but he bides his time and allows Grace the space she needs to work past her old relationship and understand that the connection she feels with him is not going to go away. With Hunter's help, Grace learns to trust again and he soothes her in a way that no one else can, which solidifies their bond. Now the only thing Hunter needs to do is reveal his secret and complete their mating, which hopefully won't send Grace running.

Crying Wolf is one sexy novella. It's a feel good story that illustrates how strong an instant connection can be when it's the one they've both been waiting for. Rochelle Paige's first foray into the paranormal genre is a fantastic read, and I can't wait to see what happens with Hunter's brothers and the women they're fated to mate.

While I enjoy reading several different genres, I have to admit that Paranormal Romance is my favorite and if it has an alpha shifter, chances are I'll devour it and love every second. And let me tell you... Rochelle Paige did not disappoint with Crying Wolf.

Grace is on the run from an abusive ex when she first meets Hunter. And of course, as soon as Hunter smells Grace he knows she's meant to be his. While a lot of people tend to complain about insta-love, it happens to be my favorite type of read which is probably why I love shifters so much. They know their mate the second they meet and do everything in their power to make them see that they belong together. Who wouldn't want that kind of love and devotion?!

Hunter is the best kind of alpha male. He's protective and possessive and just the right amount of dominant, but he also knows that Grace has been hurt so he doesn't push too hard too fast. He takes his time, gets to know her, and swoops in to save her when she's in trouble.

Grace is a great heroine too. She's not whiny like a lot of girls tend to be when they've been hurt. She's smart and can take care of herself, yet she allows Hunter to take care of her too. She's so accepting of Hunter and his wolf that you can't help but love her.

My only complaint would be that Crying Wolf is just too short. I want more Hunter and Grace, but luckily there are more books in the series so I'm sure we'll see more of them in the future.

I was already a huge fan of Rochelle Paige, but now I definitely can't wait to read more!

When Grace realized who the man was she trusted and fell for after her parents death, she knew she'd have to be smart to get away from him without him finding her. So she made a plan and when it was finally time to escape everything went off pretty much as planned and six months of running and she's finally found a place to settle down. Looking for a job at the local bar she never expected the deep insane attraction to its owner, but she was burned before and is scared to open up to a man again.

Hunter thinks his brother is an idiot! Why he hired an outsider he'll never know, but when he sees her everything changes. Grace is HIS and he'll do anything to have her but when he sees her fear he realizes things might be more complicated than her being a human and him...well...not. Can he earn her trust and protect her?

Grace is smart, when she realized she is in a bad situation she figures out just how to escape and stay hidden.

Hunter is an Alpha to the core, but he knows when not to push and when he can. He's cares deeply for his pack and when he finds Grace he'd do anything to have her and keep her safe.

Allot of their trouble stem from Graces past, and I loved seeing how Hunter worked to gain her trust without overwhelming her. Great short read and I can't wait to see the next brothers story!

I’ve recently started reading paranormal romance and I’ve been reading Rochelle Paige’s books since Push the Envelope was published. Being as though every Rochelle Paige book has been a contemporary romance, venturing into paranormal was taking her craft in a new direction. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Crying Wolf (Black River Pack, #1). It’s a novella and is a quick read at only 101 pages.

If you haven’t read a paranormal romance before, Crying Wolf would be a good place to start because it reads like an Erotic Contemporary Romance with paranormal edges. Hunter is the Alpha of the Black River Pack and hasn’t yet found his mate. Grace is running from her past and happens to land in Hunter’s life. I loved the fact that Hunter became very protective of Grace from the get-go, but that she had her reservations. Hunter is patient to a point, but will Grace let down her walls and let Hunter be the protector she needs?

Even though it’s a fast read, there is character development and an actual storyline that was interesting to watch unfold. Rochelle Paige has done a terrific job of building the foundation for the Black River Pack series and I cannot wait for Parker’s story (publishing in late December).

After months of abuse from her boyfriend, Grace is able to successfully escape his abuse. After being on the run for several months, she feels a pull towards a town run by the Black River wolf pack. The moment her scent floats to Hunter's nose at his bar, he knows she's his. He also realizes she's an unsuspecting human that is hiding something so he bides his time and watches over her. When she ends up staying at his house, he slowly introduces her to a relationship with her.
I really liked Grace. I'm always iffy about books where the female is an abuse victim. The fact that Grace found herself before it was too late and outwitted her ex made me like her right from the beginning. It showed not only was she smart but she could be a survivalist. Hunter is a very protective person and that instinct comes out as soon as he sees her and senses that she's some kind of trouble. He also understands her humanity and takes the mating factor very slow rather than rush.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

We always ask ourselves how a smart, savvy intelligent woman can get caught in an abusive relationship. Grace has asked herself that same question. She is running from her ex-boyfriend, Sam. Sam works for the police department and she has finally outwitted him. But for how long? She has been on the run for several months when she settles down in a small town called Wolfs Point. She hopes to work at the local bar called “The Den”.
Hunter is the alpha of Wolfs Point and the owner of “The Den”. When he gets a scent of Grace he knows he has found his mate. He knows Grace is running from something or someone and will what he can to protect her. With his brothers Spencer and Parker and the rest of the pack, he sets out to protect her the only way he knows.
As things heat up with Grace and Hunter, will Sam catch up with Grace? What will happen when Hunter reveals what he is to Grace? Will she run from Hunter as well?
Love, suspense and mystery is what you will find in this short story.

I like shifters and Hunter is definitely an ALPHA! I enjoyed this new book by Rochelle Paige . Grace is a young woman who was trapped in an abusive relationship, but managed to get away. Her life is on the run now and she ends up in Wolf’s Point, where she gets a trial job working for the local pack. When she shows up for her first shift she meets Hunter and it turns out she is very important to him, she is his mate.
I enjoyed this novella. I really enjoy reading Rochelle Paige’s work, and when she announced that she was adding a shifter series I was over the moon excited (pun intended)!
The only things that I wish were different was if it was longer (not a complaint just novellas feel rushed in general) as I really like the authors writing, and if Grace was a little older. I dont have a good reason for wanting her to be older I just wanted her to be. I just finished this book today (as a novella its a quick read) and I cannot wait for book two to come out.

Mmm, Hunter Tate. True Alpha with quintessential chip on his shoulder, still he is everything you need in your wolf that makes this novella flow perfectly. Crying Wolf was given to me at the perfect timing. I was in a complete reading slump. Nothing was keeping my attention and in this business that's a big NO NO, so when I started reading, I was hooked! Crying Wolf has everything you want in your shifter paranormal stories; suspense, a great story line and characters, and so much sexy it makes your heart tug. I will offer a tiny word of advice, try not to get lost in the Black River Pack and forget that you're reading a novella like I did. I was so lost in the story that flowed so well that when I came to the end, I just stared dumfounded thinking 'this is it?? :-)

No worries though, we get a second novella in this series that will continue on in The Den.

Thanks Rochelle for giving us a great start to a new wolf series!!

I was gifted this book for an honest review. What a wonderful story. Hunter Tate and Grace Shaw meet when she ends up in Wolf's Point, at "The Den", the bar Hunter owns, looking for a job. She is running from her past, but has no idea just how much her life is gonna change. Once Hunter, the Alpha, smells her scent the fun begins! She is his Mate! Let the chemistry begin.Rochelle Paige creates a story that touches on real life threats and fears for women, yet the story is so much more. As Emma tries to deal with her past and her new feelings for Hunter, she will embark on a journey that will have you laughing, crying and wishing there was more Hunter's in this world. A great read!!! I am off to get the 2nd book, lol.

An ARC was provided for an honest review……………………………

This was my first book by Rochelle Paige and I really enjoyed it. I am new to the paranormal genre but I am slowly reading more and I am super happy I read this one. Grace is strong, smart & fierce….Not many people would have the courage to leave an abusive relationship but she manages to get out. Hunter is your typical Alpha male/werewolf , but he has a super sexy soft side that made me want to hug an kiss him all over. He knows the first time he sees Grace that she is his mate. Now he needs to have her…..

Paige did a fantastic job with keeping the book moving along nicely and an even better job introducing all the different characters. I really wish it were longer and can’t wait to see what comes next. This is a must read for those that love a good book.

This book is the opening salvo for the Black River series and features one tough, handsome, alpha hero "Hunter" and one smaft cookie for a heroine "Grace". She has been with her cop boyfriend for quite some time. He becomes abusive and she devises a plan to escape him. She goes on the run and runs into the Black River pack's territory. One thing I truly love about these books is they are well written and edited with very few typos. This is my unsolicited opinion and I used KU to enjoy this series. I recommend this series as well as the connected McMahon brothers series. Just lots of great shifter reading.

This was my first book from Rochelle Paige, but it is definitely not going to be my last. She grabbed me and held me captive when she introduced me to Grace. I'm a sucker for a smart, strong, and resilient woman. Grace has all that and more. I'm also a sucker for a brawny Alpha male with more than a little brains. Hunter fits the bill in spades.
He also has more than a little patience, because that he really needs when dealing with Grace. I loved the interaction between these two. I also loved the supporting characters and am anxiously awaiting the next book which I'm sure will focus on Shepard and Eliza as they are so calling out for a story. Great story, worth every moment I spent reading it.
In exchange for an honest, review I was gifted a copy of this book by the author.

This the story of Grace who has lost everything. Her boyfriend cop Sam is there at her lowest point of her life. He slowly takes over her life , alienated from her friends, she had no job, no life outside of Sam. Sams controlling turns violent and she knows she has to get away from him. She hatches a plan after she tries to get away and he catches her tryin to flee.
The story is set around what happens after her escape from Sam.
The story is well written if not on the short side but that is my only complaint. I wanted more . I like Rochelle's style of writing and story telling

Paranormal/ shifter books is something that I discovered this year that I love reading if written well and Crying Wolf definitely falls into that category. This is my first book by Rochelle and I am definitely looking forward to going back and reading her others’. Crying Wolf is a quick, fast paced hot read which is everything I need in a good wolf shifter book.
Grace is on the run from her crazy, abusive ex she finds herself in bar Hunter’s bar looking for work. He is immediately drawn to her and like any wolf who believes he has found his mate he is crazy possessive and protective over her.
I devoured this book and I didn’t want to put it down. I only have one complaint I needed more but I am stoked that Hunter’s brother’s will get their own books, I can’t wait to read them.

Crying Wolf is a well-written, fluid, short story with engaging characters. Nice start to the Black River Pack series. Grace cleverly gets away from an abusive ex-lover; the very worst kind, a cop. She ends up at Wolf's Point in need of a job. At a bar called the Den, she runs into softie, Parker, who agrees to a trial night. When his older brother, Hunter, finds out, he's furious that Parker would take on a human, until he gets a whiff of her. Yes, she's his mate. As Hunter tries to get the truth out of Grace about her past, he delays telling Grace the truth about himself and the inhabitants of Wolf's Point, maybe until it's too late.

Another winning story from this author! Grace meets Hunter while escaping from a bad situation. Hunter puts the Alpha in alpha - He can claim the title legitimately! ; ) He knows right away she's it for him, but takes his time so as not to spook Grace. Now, taking his time to HIM means making sure she knows he's interested, making sure the rest of creation knows she's his right from the start, while still giving her space. I thought this was written very well - things happen FAST (and yes, insta-love, which is MY favorite!) but it doesn't feel rushed, because the build up is still there.

It's no secret that I love shifters, and this author's debut from that genre does a really good job of keeping that love alive! Definitely looking forward to more of this series!! : )

A really quick and likeable shifter romance with a tall dark and handsome alpha male who is to die for!

Grace: a young woman who has been blinded by love after the death of her parents.

Hunter: the alpha of a shifter pack and the embodyment of TDH!

Sam: Grace her crazy as (ex) abusive boyfriend

Parker and Spencer: Hunter's brothers and also verrrry handsome.... Lucky they'll be getting their own books!

So when Hunter and Grace meet will that undeniable pull be them finding their "one"... Or will Sam come back to haunt them?

If you want a quick read with a wicked alpha male you better get reading fast!

I loved that Hunter knew Grace was his mate instantly and went right after her. I know that is a typical shifter trope, but it still felt like it was something he chose & didn't want to fight against the attraction. What I would have liked to have seen, was a little more resistance from Grace considering the bad experience she had with her ex. Sam was extremely controlling, and so typically are Alphas. I would have liked it if Hunter had tried to control her like Sam did, with her refusing to allow it, at least until she (and we) understood the difference between the men. Otherwise, it was a terrific read & I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Crying Wolf, an interesting story.
The story and the characters are great.
I was hooked on how the story started.

The characters characters, Grace and Hunter are amazing.
Grace, a nice woman with a good heart.
I love how strong she and her determination.
Hunter, a hot guy and despite his strict attitude (inn the first part I
met him, or how he behave before he met Grace) he's an
awesome guy. I love him!!

The story, it's amazing.
I loved it!!
Starting up until the end, I was hooked with this book.
The drama/issue is great. I love how it made me get attached
to what will happen next.
The way the story ended is amazing!!
Can't wait to see more of this series!!

This shifter story started off decently, but then came the instalove and roll your eyes moments. With the pacing at the start of the book, it surprised me when suddenly everything felt thrown together. The heroine that was wary of trusting men became willing to trust without reservation. The hero also went from 0 to 60 in the "I must have her" actions. The characters themselves and writing were okay, and the book was edited. So while it was an okay book, I won't continue the series.

What a great beginning for a " new to me" series! Grace is on the run for her life when she enters the town of Wolf's Point. She's looking for a job and a place to hide, when she enters the Den. She goes in as an outsider, but is quickly determined to be pack, at least wanted and protected by the Alpha Hunter. She feels protected for the 1st time but keeps her secrets- the biggest of Sam, her ex who is out to destroy her. Hunter has secrets of his own as well, as well as the entire town/pack. Is she willing to let her guard down to let him in, once he knows her secret and will she accept him once she knows his? A fabulous shifter story by Rochelle Paige!

This is my first book from Rochelle Paige and since it is a wolf shifter book it already had a check in the win column for me. But I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this story...it is not exactly like all the other wolf shifter stories out there. I enjoyed how much background/world building there was in this story and how much Ms. Paige shows us in Grace both falling for and getting away from her previous boyfriend. I am hooked on this series with the first book and will certainly be picking up the next one in the series. Ms. Paige has now been added to my growing list of author's that I need to check for their next release.

Amazing story that you can't put down. Rochelle brings the characters to life an makes you feel you're in the story.

Grace is a strong and smart woman. Her forethought and planning are amazing! Broken and on the run, Grace is determined not to allow another man to dominate her. How long can she follow her own rules?

Hunter is a kind alpha who is always available for his pack, while still managing to claim dominance. A well respected leader who knows how to take what he wants. But he understands he needs to give Grace time. Now it's just a matter of how long he can keep his wolf from taking what's his!

Paranormal romance is one of my favourite genres to read and Rochelle Paige did not disappoint with Crying Wolf!!

After Grace's parents pass away she falls for her man who she think is her ever after but she soon realizes he's not all that he seemed to be. Grace escapes the trauma she's made to live with. And in enters Hunter a sexy protective alpha (Pack leader of Black River Pack).

Will Hunter break down Grace's walls so he can protect her? Grace is constantly looking over her shoulder worried her Ex is going to find her but will she realize what's right in front of her!!
I can't wait for the second book in the series!!

Grace made a bad choice in mourning after the death of her parents. A man she thought she loved came to control her and worse.
Escaping brings her to an even stronger man, Hunter. He is much more. How can she trust another dominant man?
For Hunter it is more. What he realizes he can,t share yet. Can he hold back? Can he protect her?

You will fall fit both. Loyalty, family bond, steam and love. Don,t. Miss it.

This book was pretty good. The only reason I didnt completely love it is because of my personal dislike books written in the first person. Outside of that I enjoyed reading it and enjoyed that they both felt the bond right away and let their relationship grow instead of jumping right in. Looking forward to the final 2 in this series. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book.

Great book. I loved the heroine, who was so strong as she needed to get away from a dangerous, abusive ex-lover. I loved the alpha shifter hero, he was strong and dominant, but incredibly caring.
It was great how the shifter mating worked.
And last, but not least, we got to see some of the happy ever after.

I received this book for free, with no recompense, from the midlist on instafreebie. This is an honest review.

5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

I really enjoyed reading this. I don't often read paranormal stuff but thought I would give this a try since I've enjoyed Rochelle's writing before. I wasn't disappointed at all. This was a quick, entertaining read. I especially loved that it got to the point of the story without over doing it on too many unnecessary details or subplots. I'm looking forward to Eliza & Spencer's story in Shoot for the Moon.

I received this ARC for a honest review.
This book was absolutely stunning. Running from danger, Grace plots an escape from a horrible boyfriend and makes her way. She ends up in Wolf's Point and finds a relaxing life. She meets Hunter when she takes a job at his bar.
This read was very well written and the storyline was fantastic.
Shifter reads are one of the nest to read.
Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this first book in the Black River Pack. Grace is such a strong person to get away like she did. Hunter was such a protective guy. This was a quick read, but there was so much suspense and some really HOT scenes in it. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Nice quick read, although I wished it was longer. However, it got straight to the point and the love scenes were awesome. I wouldn't mind reading about Grace life with the pack with the baby. I look forward to the other books.
