I struggle to find #ownvoices autistic main characters in contemporary realistic books for adults, so when I heard about this book, I bought it immediately.

Stella was fully developed and very relatable for me. Her relationship with Michael had a wonderful balance of circumstance-based tension and cuteness.

Helen Hoang really knows how to create characters. These two are so well written. Hoang’s insight into Stella’s personality is really a wonderful thing to experience and a totally new take on a romance heroine. I laughed...I cried...it was great!

I really enjoyed this story. Michael is incredible.
And Stella? I adored her and her strengths and determination and her. She’s adorkable. (I mean that with the utmost respect — I have an adorkable son)

This was my first romance book, and I squealed when this FINALLY arrived on my doorstep. This book has everything: extraordinary storytelling, compelling characters, and unforgettable FIREWORKS. Oh, and math. Who doesn't love econometrics and math?

Can't wait to read the sequel!

I give this book INFINITY STARS.

Beautifully written. I fell in love with Stella and Micheal. Though most readers won't have a diagnosis on the spectrum like Stella, almost everyone can relate to feelings of awkwardness and bewilderment she experiences while trying to navigate through a relationship.

I feel lucky that I randomly stumbled on to Helen Hoang. This book was so good, that I am putting her on my auto-buy list. It was funny, relatable, smart, well written. This was my first book by Helen Hoang, but it won't be my last.

This book was highly recommended to me and it did not disappoint. It’s amazing and unexpected and a heartwarming ride. Stella and Michael are drawn together immediately and discover all the reasons why there meant to be.

Top 5 favorite romances of all time, no question.

I don't even think I can be coherent about this book I love it so much. I kept catching myself smiling dopily at the pages as I read. So let's try bulleted points to keep the gushing to a reasonable volume:

-Male escort with the hottest tattoo of all time
-Who kisses like it's his sole religion
-Who will watch Kung Fu movies if his dates are too nervous for sexy times
-Who tailors beautiful clothes
-Who does SWORD FORM MARTIAL ARTS
-Who would do anything for his sweet little mom
-I can't even
-Heroine who is crazy smart and awesome
-Who hates pretty much all smells...except the one of the right man
-Who is so sweet and tries so hard to do the right thing that I just want to hug her
-Scenes of an incredibly gifted escort slowly coaxing a girl into melting instead of locking up in bed
-And making her happy
-Which is so darn cute
-And also the thing with the Boxers Economic Love Test which is so adorable it even made my husband grin and he's not exactly a romance novel fan.

In all seriousness, this story is a slow burn that makes you remember why true love puts a sparkle in your eye and a bounce in your step and makes the whole world feel fresh and new. Because this book does exactly the same thing.

I pre-ordered the next one, and now I'm going to re-read this one. Don't judge me.

Where do I even begin.? This book completely surprised me. I knew I was going to like it, but what I didn't know was how much I was going to love it and cherish it and how important it was going to become to me. It was such a steamy steamy steamy book. Everytime Michael and Stella did anything I had to open a window because of how hot it was getting in my room and inside my soul. I really appreciate Hellen for giving me a different kind of man to be attractived to. Not only was he Vietnamese and swedish (I've never read a book about a man like that before) but she also gave me a man who sets his dreams aside to take care of his family. And who wouldn't think that's sexy.? Plus him loving martial arts had me jumping for into the book for more every single time. And Stella, she made me reevaluate people who are autistic. Stella is successful, and beautiful, and so smart and so independent. I didn't expect anyone with autism to be like that and I was so off it's kind of insulting. I'm so glad I picked this book up. It's really changed how I look at people with autism (which is a good thing since my cousin is also autistic). But is also changed the way I viewed sex and love. Hellens story made me love the story even more which I found kind of hard to believe considering how obsessed I already was before I read about Hellen as a person. It was so good. Keep it up Hellen I'll buy everything you write from now on. I can promise you that.
