Christopher Moore's understanding of the nuance of subtle humor, aligned with great character development and a diverse cast of characters makes for an engaging read. The protagonist is hilarious at times, even in his weakness.

This one seemed a little repetitive but thoroughly enjoyable. I have read most if not all of Moore's books and am amazed at the language that he employs. The descriptions and situations keep you riding along at high speed.

The characters mostly continue from 'A Dirty Job'. It's probably best to ready that first. It's funny, eclectic, strange. Very readable. Not perfect but I quite liked it. They're the kind of neighbors I'd like to have.
I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings (Today Show Book Club #25) :: Hell's Super (Circles In Hell Book 1) :: Practical Demonkeeping (Pine Cove Series) :: Lucy (Berkley Boulevard Celebrity Autobiography) :: You Suck: A Love Story (Bloodsucking Fiends)

Good story and characters but lacks the 'keep me laughing until I get the hiccups' humor of LAMB or THE LUST LIZARD OF PINE COVE. Christopher Moore is still one of my favorite authors and I will continue to keep an eye out for his next books.

I hate to finish Christopher Moore books....they are so stinking fun to read. Happily, they always hold up to multiple reads...you might want to re-read Dirty Jobs before you read this book. Moore does not disappoint...prepare for laugh-out-loud dialog and in-your-face plot twists.

As usual Christopher Moore's characters are unique to say the least. His writing style and humor are still at their best and I enjoyed this book as much as it's predecessor "A Dirty Job". I love reading his books!

This follow up to "A Dirty Job", which happens to be my favorite Christopher Moore book, left me disappointed. The characters I had grown to love didn't seem as witty and were a bit cheesy at times. The plot was also a bit slow and hard to get into. Overall the book was "ok".

Christopher Moore is a comic genius. If you like your supernatural thrillers with a skewy, sweet, sexy, ludicrous humor then read this right away. If you're a Moore fan, this is a sequel to the 2006 novel "A Dirty Job." Equally as funny, equally a playful. If you're not familiar with his work, you might want to pick up "A Dirty Job" and read both together, in one sitting...seriously. You won't want to put either one down.

I enjoy how he weaves in the supernatural and religion with sarcasm and silliness. I felt like this book was a bit more disjointed than some of his others...maybe too many good characters to really get to know them? Still very fun!

Christopher Moore nails it again with the sequel to A Dirty Job. It does not have the wide eyed charm that the first novel did, but considering what happened to the characters in the first novel, that is not surprising at all.

Absolute delight. Christopher Moore creates memorable characters and allows the imagination to run rampant. My only disappointment is that he can't crank out a dozen or more books each year. Highly recommended.

When I saw that Chris had revisited his "Practical Demon keeping", "You Suck", "Bloodsucking Fiends" "Dirty Job"San Francisco Death Merchant series I figured "oh boy he owes his publisher a book and he's phoning one in" which he may well have been doing. None the less the book brings back his motley crew of characters including Charlie Asher, Abby the goth girl now turned suicide hotline counselor, Minty Fresh, the Emperor of San Francisco and his men and a foul mouthed 7 year old to solve the continuing saga of the undead in and under the streets of San Francisco. Lots of clever dialogue, a nice mix of history particularly about the Golden Gate bridge and a funny very funny story. His best work? no. There will probably never be another "Lamb" (Although Chris I do have a neat idea about teenage Hitler and his best friend Sigmund Freud that you can totally have...I mean it) Well worth the time for Moore afficianados

Finally, a sequel to _A Dirty Job_. Good entertainment, offering a nice weekend in San Francisco. _Lamb_ is still my hands down favorite book by Christopher Moore, worth re-reading regularly. _Sacre Bleu_ is my 2nd favorite, and I was delighted to see it featured in the interview with the author at the end of this book.
