This is a great book to help organizations recruit and train ideal team players. Patrick's no nonsense approach makes it easy for anyone to grasp the concepts. His "parable" brings those concepts to life and lets the reader experience each of the team player virtues before hammering them home on the discussion/description that follows. Great book. I can't wait to start building ideal team players in my organization!

Great book about importance of understanding people on your team and how they fit together. Appreciate the thought that has gone into this book. Understanding how people think and then how they impact others seems so simple but so over-looked in business.

Patrick Lencioni distills the characteristics of an ideal team player down to three virtues. He guides readers in identifying potential employees who possess these virtues and also on how to assist existing employees on acquiring or improving the virtues.

Wonderful book for anyone involved in any type of team. We are implementing the "virtues" in our hiring practices and in our daily interactions. I purchased this book for all of my subordinate supervisors just in time for annual performance evaluations. It has helped us evaluate past performance and express clear goals for the future. Highly recommended!!

This book doesn't really help people to think like a team and to embrace differences, but rather it teaches you to hate anything that isn't like the "norm" of your group and to beat those people into submission or force them to leave.

This book isn't about embracing diversity and working through issues, but rather about insulating your friends into a homogeneous mass that is strong enough to smash anything you don't like.

Not worth it - if you want a book on team start with Simon Sinek's "Leaders Eat Last" - it's a much better book.

Lencioni struggles with matching "Five Dysfunctions of a Team." This book was so good, that every other book is a disappointment. Not that the books are bad, rather, they just do not match that great text on teams. This book attempts to continue that conversation about developing a strong team, and how to be part of a strong team. The book is a good read, always engaging, and practical and helpful. When you read one of the author's text, you are always left with some actionable thoughts and behaviors. He does not overwhelm you with information, but creates a framework so that you can understand easily. The major focus of the book is finding and being people who are hungry (passionate about the goal), smart (people who are good with people), and humble (willing to learn and open to feedback). What I like about this model is that it does work. When you look for people to work with, look for these qualities. Since it is a simple process, you are more likely to find success within it. Instead of some of the complex ways we look for talent, this process is so easy that you will get it right more often. It is a good leadership book, and perhaps one that leadership should study together.

This is a very powerful book. I am ordering more copies for our entire team to read and discuss. As is his tradition, Patrick Lencioni presents an entertaining fable that has some twists and turns to keep a reader's attention. The fable sets up an excellent discussion of the reasons and theory behind the 3 essential elements of a team player. It's powerful because it's so simple yet often overlooked.

Patrick Lencione has outdone him self once again. The whole process of realistic evaluation in keeping with the goals of the team needs to be the clarion call in our country for the rebirth of capitalism. Thank you Patrick!

Another fine example of this style of book, as usual a happy ending without much details on the ending, but the set-up is well done. Read The Hard Thing about Hard Things for a more realistic view of a tough business where choices have to be made. But overall a good read and a good reminder to look for cultural fit in an organization. Very helpful section at end to outline characteristics in people.

This is another great book by Patrick Lencioni about the importance of team and team players to the success of an organization, any organization. As he has done in other books, the author uses fables to get his points across in simple and concrete ways. I had my team read the book, and everyone got so much out of it.

Excellent, simple and practical paradigm for evaluating, creating and enhancing the function and productivity of teams. Lencioni is always a delight because he lives what he teaches, and this work feels particularly personal and inspired.

Do you want more team impact? Consider applying the truths in this book.
