Loved this story, it was unique and well written. I will be honest in saying I almost didn't read it because of the "romantic comedy" aspect, but in all honesty, I wouldn't consider it a comedy at all. I also was turned off by the "holiday" genre. There was absolutely NO holiday anywhere in this book. Why would this book be in a holiday genre?

Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of the royal family and a tennis star. Emmy is a good girl from the U.S. When the two meet, an instant connection is made. When Charlie and Emmy are found out, Emmy has trouble dealing with the spotlight of Charlie's life. This was a fun, sweet, sexy read. It was enjoyable and I loved Charlie and Emmy.

This book was most definitely a sports romance with the royal part added in almost as an afterthought. No one was called by their titles, they never discussed anything about running the country, and it didn't feel very British to be honest. It was a good, well-written book, but I just didn't get the Royal feeling from it.

Katie McCoy has left me laughing, swooning, and smiling so hard that my face hurt. Royal player is a feel good romanic comedy that hits-- set and match. An american girl and the brittish bad boy of tennis could not make for a more charismatic duo-- I ended up wishing and praying there was more, not ready for it to end x

Characters are so connected from the get. You will laugh and cry and get down right mad, but you will always love these characters. Charlie and Em have such a fierce connection. You have to laugh at her antics and how he plows through day to day life.
Congratulations Katie on a book well done!!!

Good character development, a few twists to keep you guessing how they will end happily ever after, and overall a good story. But best of all was how well-written Royal Player is! The flow between the two POVs was like a well choreographed tennis match - pun intended!!

I really liked this book. Charlie and Emmy were great for each other and splendid together. You have a hour royal tennis start and an American woman who definitely have the hours for one another, but it's more than that. They get each other, which is why I liked this book so much.

This was an ok short read. Nothing new here. Kind of a cookie cutter story. I thought the characters were very immature and I wasn't clear on what level of education she had actually finished which could explain it. Basically if u skip this ur not missing anything.

Charlie and Emmy, one of the most unlikely matches you could ever think. But their heat and attraction is undeniable and runs wild from the work "go". A great set of characters and a fun setting for this story.

I thought this book was great. It had characters with great since of humors and a believable story line. The story wasn't so farfetched that I couldn't finish reading. It kept me interested in what would happen next. This was the first book I've read by this author but I'm looking forward to reading more

Not the laugh a minute romantic comedy, I had believed it to be. Actually, its rather long and boring. I have read for ever now, bored out of my mind, and am only at the 53%point. Between rounds of sex, its just miles of boredom. I'm deleting this one, and moving on now.

WOW! Embrace the MAGIC indeed! What a roller coaster ride of AMAZINGNESS!! I absolutely fell in love with how grounded and down to earth Emmy is in this story, even after everything that happens to her. Emmy is such a sweet, caring and charistmatic person in this story, that you can’t help but fall in love with her. I loved that she stayed true to herself and her goals. The way she impacted Charlie was freaking adorable. Charlie is a good hearted, caring and misunderstood Price/Tennis player; the black-sheep of the royal family that has a passion for Tennis. When Emmy takes a job working at Wimbledon she never thought her life would collide with a Prince. Charlie met Emmy by accident and their instant attraction is undeniable and sizzling hot. I love that Emmy’s mantra is “embrace the magic” because it would have been something her mom would have said, awe! I have to say that their love story is simply MAGICAL! I fell in love with their story. This book is a modern day fairy tale come true. It’s full of drama, suspence, determination, love and Tennis. I was not able to put the book down once I started reading their love story, and still needed more by the end, so I bought book two. Katie McCoy reall outdid herslf with this story, if I could give it more than a five star I would double, even triple that. It's simply BRILLIANT!!!

Royal Player

Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of British tennis - and third in line to the throne. He’s a beast on the courts, and a wild animal in bed (according to all the tabloids). Girls are lining up for chance at his crown jewels, and when I stumble into the wrong Wimbledon dressing room and catch a glimpse of his game, set, AND match, I can see why.

So what’s a little good luck kiss between f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ strangers?

I know better than to get involved with a bad boy like Charlie. But now he’s on a winning streak, he thinks I’m his lucky charm - and you know what’s luckier than a kiss?

Everything.

Suddenly, I've got paparazzi on my trail, exes coming out of the woodwork — and you don’t know ‘cutthroat’ until you’ve seen a pack of hungry socialites set loose near the Royal Family.

I’m in way over my head, and even worse - I’m falling in love. Can this American girl win her Prince Charming? Or will we both crash out of the championships in flames?

Wimbledon-meets-The Prince and Me in this hilarious, sexy new romance from Katie McCoy!

Royal Player is a sweet, sexy, royal sports romance. It's time for a cup of tea and tennis in this romantic comedy.

Emmy has traveled to London to explore all the places she'd seen in her mom's favorite movies and to find inspiration. She has set out to embrace the adventure. Emmy and her best friend, Paige, are staying with her Aunt Suze and working in the refreshment tents during Wimbledon.

Charlie Davenport is the black sheep of his royal family. He's the second son, aka the spare. Charlie, the royal bad boy, chooses not to follow in his older brother's footsteps but instead chooses tennis, partying and women.

Emmy is asked to make a delivery when she gets lost and ends up in a locker room with a very naked tennis player. She doesn't recognize the naked man but one good-luck kiss sends sparks flying. It's Emmy's best friend who shares that she just kissed royalty. At the after game party Emmy locks eyes with her prince charming and their connection leads them on a romantic adventure. Emmy finds herself embracing life and romance.

Charlie is always in the public eye. When the public gets wind of Emmy, her life changes in an instant. Emmy finds herself being closely scrutinized. Unfortunately, she soon discovers secrets never stay hidden for long.

I loved Emmy. She had to move out of her comfort zone in order to embrace life. Emmy was faced with different challenges but grabbed a hold of her chances and went with them. Royal Player is a sweet, flirty, easy read with heart. 4 Stars

Royal Player is sassy romantic comedy with two of my favorite things—royalty and sports. Emmy is in London for the summer and working part-time at Wimbledon when she accidentally walks in on a very naked and gorgeous Charlie Davenport. He’s a prince and a competitive tennis player—much to the chagrin of his royal family—and he nabs a kiss from the intriguing Emmy during their run-in. He ends up winning his match and can’t get her or her kiss out of his mind.

When they run into each other again, it is game on for Charlie. He pursues Emmy, and he is hard to resist. She’s less experienced than Charlie, who is known to be a playboy, and she worries he might be too much for her, but, again, he’s just too hard to resist.

They begin their romantic adventure and soon Emmy has to deal with being closely scrutinized by the media and public since she is being seen with the famous Charlie. She’s definitely out of her comfort zone with Charlie and his lifestyle, but he might be exactly what she needs to push her to take risks and grab all life has to offer. He proves that her is worth the risk.

I really loved Charlie; he is charming, sexy and playful but also caring and sensitive. He and Emmy make a great couple and have sizzling chemistry, and their relationship is paced well. This is my first time reading Katie McCoy, and I am excited to have discovered a new author. Royal Player is a fun, flirty and entertaining, and it should not be missed.

Charlie!!!!! He has to be my new sports beau! Tennis...I have not read a sports romance that has to do with Tennis and I am so happy that I choose this book to read and review. Not only do I love sports romance, but I love royalty romances as well. This combined with both made me read this book into the late hours. I loved the writing, plot, and the characters from Katie McCoy.

Emmy is out of the country and enjoying her little getaway. She accidentally meets a naked Charlie before his tennis game and boldly gives him a kiss for good luck before his match. Lo and behold he wins. That kiss stays long after for the both of them. Emmy may seem young and innocent, but she is a firecracker. This is what Charlie can not get enough of. These two have the temperature rising for sure. Or were the sexy scenes that were making it too hot to stay comfortable. Emmy is thrown out of her comfort zone when her relationship becomes public. Because come on, who does not want a story about Charlie's newest interest. Especially since he is Royalty.

This story had me stuck last weekend in bed from start to finish. This my book friends is another must read!

Charlie Davenport, my, my, my what a fine specimen of a man. And he's a prince, who knew a tennis romance could be so good.

I can honestly say this is the first book I have read about tennis. I have read a lot of sports romances but I will be reading more about tennis, especially if they all have Adonis' like Charlie .

Ok enough drooling for me. ?

I have read just about all of Katie McCoys books, and I have to day this one was my favorite. The chemistry between the two was blazing hot, and I LOVED that Emmy didn't hold back and just kissed him. Way to go girl!

This was a quick read that had me sneaking peeks at work (shh don't tell my boss), and had me going to bed late because I just had to finish this book. This is a must read for sports romance fanatics.

Royal player 4⭐️

Great characters! Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of tennis and the British royal family. He reminded of Prince Harry with his attitude but the fact that he was completely normal and not a "stuffy royal". I loved everything about his character, cocky, self assured on the outside but sweet and not all the confident on the inside.
Emmy was great as well, I loved her friendship with Paige and just how "normal" they were.
The story itself I enjoyed but felt for a romantic comedy it could have been a little funnier. I did enjoy though that it was set in Britain and around Wimbledon. I love Wimbledon and the book showed all the hype and how big the event really is.
Overall a decent, enjoyable, easy read.
