This was a great book and a great introduction to the history of WWII.
My 7 and 4 year old enjoyed it. We read this in perpetration to visit Ann Frank's house in Amsterdam.
But now my kids are asking for more.... So obviously it's been great...
I only gave it 4 star because it will probably be too simple after 3 rd grade.

I started this remarkable book with my daughter over the weekend. I imagine it could be read with parents by children as young as five, and depending on the reading level, enjoyed by girls up to 12 on their own.

My daughter DID not want to read the book, as she didn't know the story behind it. However, as we read it together, the book thoroughly held her attention and her imagination. She loved that Anne also liked to play pranks - and missed many days of school like her, due to illness. She found a lot of similarities between herself and Anne Frank. She enjoyed the maps and information in the book - and was filled with questions about WWI and WWII.

I will definitely be looking for more books by this author. My daughter said, "I love this book!" many times while reading it - which was a first for her. I have finally found a HERstory that she can fully identify with and enjoy.

The illustrations add so much to this detailed account in terms of allowing the child to wrap her head around the story.

This book is very well done in accuracy in writing. THE AUTHENTIC PICTURES IN THE BOOK ARE A PRICELESS VERIFICATION OF THE HORRENDOUS GREAT TRAGEDY OF DEADLY HATRED CARRIED TO UNIMAGINABLE LENGTHS. I find the book and pictures to match so very well to give more understanding and cohesiveness to readers of this historically infamous and tragic time. Of course, it is wise to make age appropriate choices as to when you will introduce this vital information. I love the way the author was matter of fact about the historical fact without being too graphic. I still see this information as vital to be passed on from generation to generation, never to be forgotten, and a record to those who deny the Holocaust ever happened. WE ARE STILL EXPOSED TO DANGEROUS PROPOGANDA AND HATRED TODAY, BUT WE CAN RECOGNIZE IT!!! Yes tragedies and unspeakable savage acts deadly brutality have happened through the ages, and still happen, very sad to be said. But we can and must learn from the tragic past to gain awareness of the rhetoric and fabric of what exists now and for the future.

The book Who Was Anne Frank was an interesting story. There was one really big problem for Anne Frank, the attack of the Nazis. Anne Frank has a really big secret too, her diary. She has had her diary a long time. Her diary is her best friend. Without it she would never remember how her life was.

This book tells a lot about her and gives lots of details. Anne Frank has many secrets in her mind. If you want to learn what those secrets are, read this book. Who Was Anne Frank is a marvelous book. My favorite part is when she writes her first diary entry. I think that this is very unusual in many ways. My favorite character is Anne Frank.

If you like history I think you will like this book. Also, if you like the “Who Was…” series you like this book. You will find yourself staying up late reading this book. If I could give this book twenty stars I would!

Anyone who is familiar with the Who Was Series would sincerely appreciate this text. This series provides biographies on dozens of famous people, but it is written for children ages 9-12. The pages include a short amount of text and usually a sketch to accompany it. This is a quick read and provides accurate information; however, it is appropriate for the age group. The author definitely took into account the maturity level of the reader, which is appreciated. The character of Anne Frank is written so that the reader feels as though they would know her and can easily relate to some of her life's struggles. I am anxious for the next addition to this phenomenal series. A must for any classroom teacher!

This book is a fantastic children's biography because it lets you learn about Anne Frank in a very fun and not boring way. There are many pictures and fun facts through the whole book. This book is good to read for information for school or just for fun like I did. I would say this book is good for kids grades 2,3,4,5. This is not the only good book in this series, there at many other books that are as good as this one in the series and even better. So pick up this book and you won't put down and have lots of fun with this book and series.

I discovered this series when looking for books for a 3rd grade teacher who teaches informational text in a urban elementary school. The students loved this series, especially the girls. Very well received by the teacher and students.
