**May contain spoilers**
Like its prequel, Kimberly Kinrade associates 'Seduced by Pain' with one of Shakespeare's greatest love stories; this time it is 'A Midsummer's Nights Dream'. Each chapter begins with a quote from the play and is named after a section from that quote, indicating the action of the story. I appreciate this homage by Kimberly Kinrade, to Shakespeare, who I believe wrote some of the world's most beautiful stories, and I am interested to find out which play she will be using for her third book.
'Seduced by Pain' begins where 'Seduced by Innocence' ended; the demon has been released and is intent on finding Rose. However, Rose is missing Derek, despite knowing his heritage, and she is doubting her mother even more. After receiving a vision from his brother Derek decides to free Rose from the coven and help her discover more about her powers; he finds a small community of paranormals who may be able to help.
In this sequel Rose and Derek find the secret to unlocking their sexual relationship and the reader sees them united together: emotionally, physically and against the witches coven.
Kimberly Kinrade lulls the reader into a sense of safety and security within the story and then builds into the battle crescendo when Rose's life is thrown into chaos again. I enjoy the way in which the pace changes but the story is still as absorbing and exciting. I am anticipating the sequel!
This was given to me as a review copy, but had no influence on my opinion.

Another Amazing Read! This second book Seduced by Pain in the Seduced Saga was an amazing read.  This one continues where the first book ended. It was nice to see how our two main characters where able to work through many issues that were keeping them apart.  We also get to see some old friends from the Forbidden Series that try to help Rose learn how to control her dark power.  We also learn more about where Rose's dark power comes from. Again this story has magic, love & some sexy scenes with lots of turns and great twist.  Again great secondary characters like Ocean.  I will be moving on to third book in this series right away.

Rose has gone through a lot of changes lately. Finding true love only to have it challenged. The truth is out and now both Derek and Rose have to deal with fall out. Derek now knows who Rose really is and doesn't know what or how to deal with these emotions. To love her or to let her go?

Rose is dealing with a lot too. Having been loved and treasured so completely is new feeling for her. That facing the possibility of it never happening again is devastating. Heartbreak sucks especially when u have a Mother who is up to something bad, a new possible flame, the one u can't stop thinking about, and long secrets coming to light. It's been rough.

Will Rose and Derek find themselves in each other's arms again? Is there way to control her magic?

Keep Reading........;)

I'd like to thank Innovative Online Book Tours and the author for providing me a copy of this book to review for the tour.
I loved reading the first book of this trilogy, and the Shakespearean quotes at the beginning of each chapter really set the tone. During the first book, they were all quotes from Romeo and Juliet, now they are all from A Midsummer Night's Dream. In the first book, we got a glimpse of how evil Rose's mother truly is, now we get a further glimpse of how much love can destroy a person. Truly gives more meaning to the William Congreve quote, "Heav'n has no rage like love to hatred turn'd/ nor hell a fury, like a woman scorned."
As Rose and Derek's love and relationship progresses all the usual ways, including the miscommunication, there are slightly more wicked twists to the plot.
I can't wait to see how it all pans out in the end. Will Rose get to meet her father?

As promised, Book two continued where one left off with a new major player. This individual made me think about the balance of good and evil and how most things or people aren’t one or the other, it’s all about the circumstances we find ourselves in. He actually had me rooting for him for a short while, but then I remembered myself.

I enjoyed the second book as much as I did the first. There were some scenes (sexual in nature) which surprised me. I’ll admit that there were times when I feared that my eyes would get stuck in my head from the excessive eye-rolling due to the drama of the novel which endeared it to me.

I’m looking forward to reading part three I have a feeling there’ll be a spectacular ending.

With every book, the Seduced Saga just get better and better! Add the second installment, Seduced By Pain, to the mix and you have a growing saga you do not want to miss. Don't forget the Shakespeare-likeness of his play of A Midsummer Night's Dream!

Rose and Derek return to find a way to fix the mess they call their love life. Will the difference between them become the rock that is driven through their heart? Or will Rose finally be able to control her dark powers once and for all so that she finally may be able to fix what her touch has destroyed.

You may read this series as a stand alone, but this saga is much better read in the order which it is created.

Having adored book one, I could not wait to immediately jump into this second book in the series. Rose and Derek face more obstacles in this book, though it seem for awhile that things are starting to look up. In actuality, Karpov Kinrade are just setting us up for even bigger fireworks as the story develops. I loved watching Derek fight to protect his family's legacy and Rose fight to control her ever growing power. Bring on book three! This series is like potato chips, don't expect to be able to stop at one or two volumes.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review. I rated the book 4.5 Stars:

Beginning shortly after the events which took place at the end of the first book, Seduced by Pain continues the saga of the Romeo and Juliet like romance between a powerful, somewhat out of control witch and the shapeshifter/druid who loves her. A little darker in tone, the stakes are higher now that Rose and Derek have to repair their romance while trying to resolve several power struggles at the same time. Continuing her world building and further developing her characters, Ms. Kinrade easily drew me back into her tale.

At the beginning of this story, Rose finds herself still on the outs with her coven. Having just survived a small battle with her mother, Rose has several issues she must face on her own. She still doesn't understand the extent of her powers, has self esteem issues she needs to resolve and finds herself temporarily separated from Derek, the man she loves.

Heartbroken over his discovery of the part Rose played in his brother Dean's situation, Derek is determined to stand by his family. Refusing to return Rose's calls, Derek knows he still loves her. He just needs to help her figure out how to control her dark powers.

While Rose and Derek are temporarily apart, Ms. Kinrade introduces us to a few new characters. Rose and her best friend Ocean, are determined to discover what's really going on inside the coven and just what Rainbow, Rose's mother, is trying to do. Rose also has to deal with Blake, a person she's never liked, who suddenly isn't behaving he was in the past. Blake's sudden change also attracts the attention of Ocean, who wants to know why he's suddenly acting like a hottie!

Soon Rose and Derek realize they'll have to forget and forgive the mistakes in their past to discover the answers they seek. It's only their love and the hope for a future together that will give them the answers and power they seek.

Will Rose and Derek's love be enough to get them through their problems? Will Rose be able to uncover all of the secrets involving her mother and learn to control her powers? You'll have to read Seduced by Pain to find out. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Kinrade definitely threw me for a loop with this one. It was a brilliant loop, but I definitely didn't expect this turn of events. Not only were there twists and turns galore in this novel, but it kept me even more captivated and enthralled than its predecessor.

I greatly appreciate the fact that Kinrade uses the same writing style and tone in this novel as she did in the first of the series. Being that the first ended in a cliff-hanger and that this one picked up where it left off, this consistency in style allows for an easy flow and transition on the reader's part. She also works captivating descriptions into this novel that bring everything to life in a very vivid reality. And Holy Hannah, some of it is very inviting and extremely enticing. Because of Kinrade's way with words things become so real that you literally feel like you are standing in the middle of the scenes, watching the action take place.

Not only is the writing style consistent with that found in Seduced by Innocence, but so are the characters. Kinrade takes the phenomenal characters from her first novel and continues to develop them into even more approachable people. Don't get me wrong, there is still a very sinister feel to some of the characters, but these characters are more blatantly sinister in this novel. Kinrade also delves deeper into the powers wielded by her characters. This greatly heightens the supernatural aspects of the novel and provides a greater understanding into the plight faced by some of the characters.

As a whole, this was a phenomenal sequel to Seduced by Innocence. It draws you further and further into this world, while still leaving a great deal of mystery to be solved in the final novel of the trilogy. It also leaves you yearning for the sequel (and a couple of the characters themselves....).

Please note that I received this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review

The second book in the Seduced series takes us deeper into Rose’s world of magic, love, lust, darkness and hope. With her mother’s plot to kill her and steal the O’Connor’s source of power, Rose must face herself, her dark power, and go against her family to save her one true love. Though decidedly darker than Seduced by Innocence, this book is more dynamic, and throughout the darkness are glimmers of hope.

As we go deeper into the story, the author answers many questions from the first book, and poses more. The plot moves quickly, with action and intrigue that kept me rapidly turning the pages. We are introduced to even more magical beings and characters as Kinrade continues to expand the cast.

For me, the highlight of the story is Rose and Derek’s romance. With obvious nods to Romeo and Juliet, they are determined to be together no matter what stands against them. They are meant for each other and this is clearly illustrated in their undeniable chemistry and steamy love scenes. Even more intriguing is through their lovemaking they are able to find one piece of the puzzle that may help Rose learn to control her power, and ultimately save them all.

A unique and beautifully written paranormal romance, Seduced by Pain is a journey of hope and identity, love and lust, power and survival. I truly enjoyed this book and am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

“Pain and pleasure are born from the same explosion of nerves. Together they form the precipice of magic and sexual awakening, pushing me over the edge and into a new experience.”

Seduced by Pain was a brilliant follow-up to Seduced by Innocence and it left me eagerly anticipating the start of the next book in the series! I'm becoming a huge fan of her work with each book and this one does not disappoint. In fact, my only beef was a few typos!

That said, as an X-Men fangirl, I really was digging her paranormal school idea and I couldn't help but chuckle when the school was lead by Father Patrick. (For those who aren't X-Men fans, Patrick Stewart played Professor Charles Xavier, the man in charge of a private academy for mutants who weren't yet accepted by society)

I liked this second book better than the first! That is saying a lot for me. Normally, I dislike book 2 of series. The return of the characters and how it seems the authors have re-made them sort of. To me in this book Rose and Derek have finally started acting like adults and not simpering kids. This is what i was missing from the first book. The emotions with this book were good, I actually felt the fear, humor, grief, and the worry. Will be reading book 3 very soon!

First there were the Capulets and Montagues. Then there were the Hatfields and McCoys. Now there are the O'Conners and Wintersongs. Or at least one very bad lady with the innocuous name of Rainbow Wintersong. In the first book Seduced by Innocence, each chapter began with a quote from Romeo and Juliet, in this book the quote is from A Midsummer Night's Dream. "The course of true love never did run smooth." Rose's mother and Blake are even more evil than before. Rose is depressed Derek won't talk to her. This book is so well written, I just couldn't put it down, so to speak. I loved the first book and now I am completely hooked on Rose's story. I love it so much, I just don't want it to end. This book took the eroticism from the first book to the next level and it was hot, hot, hot. And once again this book ends with a cliffhanger. This author is driving me nuts. Must get next book!

Kimberly is killing me with the sudden end of the book and I find myself turning my kindle over looking for the rest of the story ... as if that is going to help. All I can say is she better get that final book written in like a day!!!! Rainbow still needs her ass kicked in a major way And now we have demons involved. Hurry up Kimberly, this is painful waiting to see what happens.

I enjoyed the the first in this series "Seduced by Innocence" and wanted more, I read this one next. Enjoyed it enough to read the third "Seduced by Power". Only wish they had come as a complete novel, versus giving us piece by piece. If I hadn't gotten them for free, probably wouldn't have continued with the "pieces".

I really enjoyed this book. It nicely ties together books 1 and 3, although it has its own issues to resolve. I loved the part with the priest giving sex advice, probably my favorite scene in the book.

Love the series as a whole, although I could have done without all the rough sex stuff. I give this book, on its own, 4 out of 5 clouds.

Awesome second installment of Rose and Derek's story. Filled with emotion, hot sex, and bad bad people. I am silently hoping that Rose figures out that some things are not as they seem, and those she trusts should not be trusted. Can't wait for the next one!

HONEST REVIEW REQUESTED.....so I pretty much finished this book within a few hours (2 to be exact). It did hold my interest this time because we were able to find out what Rose's mother was up to. Blake (demon version) was falling for Roses which was not really apart of the plan and he was pretty upset when he found out what the witch guess wanted to do with her. We learned more about Rose's mother and Derek's father relationship and come to find out she is a bit Loopy..cant give you too much you must read it.

Rose and Derek's story continues in Seduced by Pain and it is one thrilling adventure. This story has found a way into my heart and I find myself holding my breath as they race to what I hope is a beautiful Happily Ever After.

This time around their love is put to the test all while they try to save their families. They learn what it means to fight for what they believe in and they both seem to find there place in the world. Sometimes family is the people that you choose to love rather than the people you were born to.

We are introduced to several more characters that I fell in love with. This series has taken a turn that could lead to endless possibilities.

Seduced by Pain is wonderfully written. It is emotional and riveting!

Once again we are left wanting more! I personally can not wait to see where Kimberly Kinrade leads us in the next and final book in the trilogy.

I don't think I will ever get enough of Rose and Derek!

This is a great sequel to Seduced by Innocence. Of course, as with the first book, it ends on a staggering cliffhanger. However, I was impressed with the strength of the storyline and character development in this book, especially considering that second books in a trilogy can often be the weakest. I felt this book stands up well next to the first, and I am sure the third will as well. I can't wait!

Kimberely Kinarde did a great job on this sequel. I am loving the Seduced saga. Derek and Rose are great characters. This book to an extra weird turn of events by having Blake being taken over by a "demon", the devil?? Yes I believe so, but this devil has heart, at least for Rose. Rose is finally facing the fact that her mother is a very evil witch with a hidden agenda.

I love how Kimberely brought her "rent-a-kid" cast into this saga. That was a brilliant turn of events. I look forward to reading more of this sage.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

In the second book Seduced by Pain of the Seduced Saga Derek has found out who Rose is and what she did to his brother Dean. Rose has to deal with the fact of what she can do with her dark powers and learn how to control them. She is determined to use her magic for good and not evil. Rose keeps calling Derek over and over but Derek won't talk to her. He feels guilty for loving her when his brother is in a coma that she put him in. Will Derek find it his heart to forgive Rose? Can she stop her mother from doing more evil before anyone else gets hurt?

Rose has learned that her mother is planning on using her as a sacrifice to help her gain more power. She has also found out that her mother has been hiding things from her. Things like who her real father is and what he is. Who is her father? What is her father? She now knows that Derek's family was not the ones who was attacking them and trying to kill her family.

Rose's heart is breaking because of what she did to Derek's brother and has realized that her mother manipulated her into using her magic against Dean. Her heart is also breaking into tiny little pieces because she thinks she has lost Derek. She thinks he will hate her because of who she is and what she did.

What Rose doesn't know and has no way of knowing is that Derek has a fantastic family with great big hearts. The O'Conner's don't blame her for what happen they know her heart is not like that. She is not evil like her mother. Besides they know her mother and what she is capable of doing. They are not the kind of people to judge anyone. They know that everyone is their own person and just because one person in the family may be bad does not make the other members bad too.

You know I think I liked Seduced by Pain more than the first book Seduced by Innocence. There were more magic and dark creatures. Once I started reading it I did not want to stop. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I was beside myself wanting to know what was going to happen to Rose and Derek next. I really loved both books and am just dying to read the next book in the Seduced Saga Seduced by Power due to be released this month, March 2013.
