This book reminds me of an abbreviated "Book of Bartlett's Quotations" my parent's had when I was growing up. Made me want to go out & seek the original.

You'll get tuned into books you never knew existed -- & YES you will seek them out & wind up buying them!

I recently but this for a couple of high school graduates. This book is great for all ages to help remind us of simple advice we should follow to lead a happier and more fulfilling life. I am hoping these individuals will look back fondly on this book as life throws things at them they may not expect! It is the great awesomeness we have all come to expect from Dr. Seuss books. I look forward to sharing this with my own children someday!

I was expecting a regular book-size with new material. This was a small, almost pocket-size book that had brief excerpts from his other works. It might be perfect for some people. Just wasn't what I was looking for.
Dr. Seuss 12 books set collection in a bag(The cat in the hat :: Dear Girl, :: Oh, Baby, the Places You'll Go! :: 100 Inspirational Quotations Hand-Lettered by Lisa Congdon :: I Can Handle It (Mindful Mantras Book 1)

My friend recently graduated from college so I wanted to get a meaningful gift for her. Nothing says meaningful and helpful with life better than Dr. Seuss. I loved the collection of his best quotes and work. For starting the next chapter in life this is a great pick me up to have when in doubt or struggling.

Only one place in this the store ad was it mentioned to be a "Gift Edition" (which doesn't specify how small the book is) but even in the pictures, where you (supposedly) see the cover of the book; it is not a picture of the ACTUAL book, because the actual book has "(Gift Edition)" toward the bottom. Regardless, I love Dr. Seuss books, but this one was not a standard size book (8x10 or so) and was a very short read... especially for $7-$9.

Based on other comments, I bought this as a "stocking stuffer" type gift to go along with something a little more substantial for my Mom's birthday. Am I ever glad I didn't ship it directly to her! This is little more than a hardcover pamphlet with disjointed, context-less snippets from Ted Geisel's wonderful books forced into highly unlikely, even bizarre categories invented by some editor years after the good Doctor's death (would you believe Dr. Seuss "On Equality and Justice," or "On Diversity" or "On Activism?"). I found myself recoiling from this obvious attempt to milk a few extra bucks out of the Dr. Seuss legacy on the cheap. Buy it for yourself if you were just going to toss that money in the gutter anyway, but don't embarrass yourself or the recipient by presenting this painfully obvious marketing project as a gift. Buy a book by Dr. Seuss instead.

I absolutely love this book. It is actually a collection of quotes from his other books, compiled to give life lessons in brief. Perfect for anyone who loves Dr. Seuss (although, not really a read-to-me book for small children:)

I am a Seuss fan but a skeptic. This was the best little book ever. I gave it as a gift to two very divrese graduates, both said they would read it often. I ended up buying one of my own. When your down it lifts you!

I got this for my LO. It's definitely geared towards inspiring the older adolescent and young adult crowd. I still read it to her though and I appreciate being able to read some of the sniplets as well.

To begin with, my granddaughter received the Dr Seuss book when she was about 3 years old. Now she is 23 years old. What fun it was to repeat the poetry of Dr Sueuss when she was little and now we have the joy of celebrating her college graduation! As always,, Dr Seuss makes us laugh and along with that comes he good sense philosophy of Dr Suess. So glad we have a college graduation edition as she now moves on to her challenges as a brand new physician assistant. oh yes, it's another doctor.
there are no downsides on Dr Seuss and his Seuss-isms!

I picked up this book because my son's 18th birthday and Graduation are coming up, so I plan on secretly having friends and family write little inspirational messages to him along with all the inspirational messages Dr. Seuss has included in the book. The book covers so many of our favorite Dr. Seuss stories with the message behind them. The pages are very colorful and the book flows beautifully. I would highly recommend this book for any age.

This is a tiny tiny book in both size and number of pages. It contains nothing new.........just phrases from other Seuss Stories. I bought it for a gift but was embarrased by the content and size. I bought something else. No reason I can see for anyone buying this book. Don''t waste your money.

Bought this as a university graduation gift for one of my friends. She's about to move to another state for grad school and I thought this book would be perfect for her. She's finally moving away from home, living on her own...this book and its quotes will help remind her to keep going

I got this as a graduation gift for a teaching assistant. I have only encountered big Dr. Seuss books and did not think to see how big the book was. It is about 4 inches by 3 inches. The words and stories are what I wanted, but I would have liked the book to be bigger for a gift.

I bought this for my sister as she graduated from college because we both share a love of Seuss and good advice is hard to find! It was a little small for what I was expecting but still super cute and she loved it!

Dr. Seuss is a genius.. Everyone already knows that! But when I decided to purchase this for my little cousin who just graduated high school and is venting off across the country for college, we got more than we bargained for! This book has everything.. Ranging from friendships, school, work and family, to finding yourself and making drastic changes in your life. It was truly wonderful to skim through and I hope it helps him find his way - as it is intended to do. I recommend this to anyone who is at a crossroads, making changes, starting a new chapter or is stuck in the chapter they're in. Dr. Seuss did it again - adult style!

I was expecting a regular size book and was shocked to see this mini-version of the book. I like the quotes and it will be something that I can retype before sending out. Just a bit disappointed in the size of the book. Hard to give as a gift by itself.

Dr. Suess wrote good thoughts and thought carefully of morals he wanted to instill in children-- us adults should take note of the content of these- not just read them but do them. Today you are you and that's truer than true and there's no one alive that's youer than you!

I was very disappointed with this item. I expected the book to be bigger and have more quotations in it. They over advertise the product and it was disappointing when I got a small, pocket sized book, very slim and not many quotations at all.

I bought this book for graduation gifts and also had to snag one for myself. It's filled with the best Dr. Seuss quotes from all of his books. Makes a great book for graduates as a fun way to think about life after high school!

Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite authors and I love his quotes. This book was disappointing because many of my favorite quotes weren't even in the book which was very brief. When ordering online, you don't realize that this is actually a mini-sized book that will fit in your pocket.

The thing's I have learned from the "Cat In the Hat", Can I honestly say is it this?, Is it that ?. Never believe the thing's you have been told by the people you voted, It's all getting old.You get what you get when it's all said and done. When it's done, It's done not a minute to soon. Hold on to your hat, and believe your to blame, It's not over, never over, when you wear the shame on your shoulders. Keep talking, talking, talking, till your are blue in the face. What you have created is a scared human race. How do you like your Egg's ?? Are they green or are they blue, At this point it does't matter, It's not up to you..Be kind to each other, it's all we have left. This cinder is floating, enjoy every day. Our life on this rock is just time in the glass,Enjoy every moment because it's not going to last.

Awesome book :)

Full of excerpts from various Dr Suess books, including the source of all of them. Well-done illustrations as usual.

Great advice, from being proud of who you are, to working hard, to accepting others, to respecting your elders... All told with humor and good grace.

Good for toddlers and children but FANTASTIC for adults who can take it seriously.

If you find my review helpful, please let me know below :) Feel free to comment or ask questions!

gave this to graduating granddaughter ,since she is heading to college, Dr. Seuss was a childhood read for our grandkids and grandparents.
Hope when things get " What" ? , she can pull this little book out and find a laugh or saying that fits her situation.

Dr. Seuss was thought to have been a writer for children, but every parent knows that there was plenty of content to keep the adults amused, too. Someone obviously had an interesting idea in selecting those parts of Dr. Seuss's work that apply to organizations.
The subjects covered include learning, setting goals, avoiding micromanagement, growth, surpassing competitors, cycles, speculation, chaos theory, the stock market, business trips, synergy, maintaining competitive advantage, synergy, delegating, corporate hierarchies, downsizing, innovation, and higher education.
You may well remember some of the rhymes. The idea of getting Horton to sit on the egg in the delegating section brought back happy memories.
The most apt rhyme to me was the one about having a watcher to watch a bee, because watched bees work harder. Except, of course, the bee did the same after it was watched as before.
Each rhyme is wonderfully illustrated.
A good use for this book would be to share the proper rhyme with a colleague who is getting it wrong. Humor is a good way to bust stalls.
Enjoy!

Dr. Seuss is unfortunately looked over by some people as just a guy who wrote silly little children's books. That may be partially true, but all of his books had a much deeper meaning if you are willing to be open-minded and take a closer look. His work is brilliant and outlandishly creative; so much so that he is recognized as the creator of the word `Nerd' in the English language when the word was first featured in his 1950 book `If I Ran the Zoo.' Some people believe that it is unfair to take quotes from his work after his death and related it to `lessons of life' the way this book does and that the quotes have no relation at all to what they are connected with. I don't believe that is true at all; I believe that he wrote these stories with the exact meaning they are realted too, which is why his books are brilliant. Here are two of my favorite quotes from the book so you can judge for yourself...

ON EQUALITY AND JUSTICE

`I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.'

ON GOING PLACES

`The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.'

If you still think Dr. Suess books are just for kids then ponder this...

`Every book is a children's book if the kid can read' - Mitch Hedberg

A nice little compilation of some Dr. Seuss quotes.
A nice but small stocking-stuffer for a small price. Some office gift exchanges limit gifts to mercifully small amounts and this is a good option for such an occaission.
Only negative is that it's a bit too short; but I must admit I'm still very glad I got it.
My favorite quote from Suess (which I would have missed entirely had it not been for this book): "I still climb Mount Everest just as often as I used to. I play polo just as often as I used to. But to walk down to the hardware store I find a little bit more difficult."

Dr. Seuss was a man who could stretch out a set of simple words to delight and entertain his audience. But at the same time, his books also held a deeper meaning on important issues: The Lorax and the Butter Battle Book come to mind.
This slim tome is full of little pieces of wisdom, in Seuss' own words and with his drawings. It's Suess-Lite, but perfect for when you just need a smile, or a breather. Sometimes the simplicity lets us look at our selves better and to see the simple truths in living. It is a perfect little gift for the graduate, or just to keep on your desk for when you need a smile, and a short breather to put life in perspective.

The book grabs quotes from different books Doctor Suess has written. But the quotes are taken out of context, and are often against the spirit of the original text. For example, this book uses a quote from "The Lorax" to promote the growth of business. Yet as any person familiar with "The Lorax" will tell you, that book is about how greed can easily lead to environmental destruction. It makes me wonder if the author of "Suess-isms for Success" even read Dr. Suess's books, or just skimmed them for quotes.

I just got this for my mom's birthday, and I know she'll love it. It's very deep and philosophical for being a bunch of quotes from kids' books. But it's about 20 pages, and 3x4 inches. It's tiny and not worth $8 unless you're getting the person something else Seuss-y.

I was given this clever little book for my birthday last year (a gentle hint, perhaps, to get me on the right path?), and while I can't imagine paying [$$$] for it, that's about the only criticism I can dredge up. Anything by the good doctor is brilliant, of course. Anything he touches is magic. And we will always laugh.
Highly recommended.

I like to say that Dr. Seuss made a house call. But he sent a cat wearing a red and white stovepipe hat - and learning to read was never the same. As one who had to deal with dyslexia to a point, my teachers could never teach me how to read like the Cat in the Hat did! The best truths about life and learning along the way from Dr. Seuss' books are contained in this one small book! It is a book that I will need to get!

So My Highschool drama club just did Suessical the Musical. And the last performace was very emotional. We were all given this book. And we just balled. Not just because it was our last show. But because this book taught us lessons that we never thought we would need to know.

Seuss-isms is a super book! It's funny, easy to read (it's a book of quotes from his many books)
and entertaining. Anyone from 3 to 1,003 will enjoy this wonderful book (I'm 12, and I love this book, and so does my mom)
Read it!!!!

In his whimsical childish style, Dr. Seus has done it again! His rhymes with the times and econominc health and what you want to do with your life, your MBA and all the fun things that intelligent (or not-so-intelligent) students need to know to get ahead in life and lead a healthy financial future. I had all of my students read this book in Lit 101 and do a book report for the class. I had 48 completely different takes on it and each student discovered something different. Highly recommneded for scholastic and for fun!

This is not a critique of Dr. Seuss, nor a bash of his works... BUT... REALLY... It's almost like the few pages of this tiny book get lost between the covers. You can read and digest what little has been printed in this book in less than 2 minutes(even if you're not the fastest reader!). Considering the wealth of writings of Dr. Seuss, please don't waste your time with this pitiful excuse for a publication. Just buy the books... you'll get a LOT more bang for your buck!

I got this book and I am soooo happy that I did. Dr. Suess has a way with words that effect everyone from a small child to the oldest adult.... If you do not have this book you need it in your collection.
