A Longmire Mystery (Walt Longmire Mysteries Book 6)

Love the series. Well written, great character developement. Could not put them down. Have read all 8. You really learn to respect his characters and learn about the area and culture. Want to read more. My husband loves the series and got me started. He is now reading them a second time. Thank you Craig Johnson for the beautiful stories.

We, my family, love the Longmire series (TV) and we have now read all the books. I got this for my brother-in-law who is not so much into reading, but loves a good story. There is such a western flavor to all his books, but this one feels like people I used to know. I bet we keep it in the family libraries for a long time to come.

Last few Longmire books have not finished due to way too much fillers that drags the story. Used to love the books. This is the second Longmire book haven't completed this week. Will not purchase anymore.

I like the author's writing style and the storyline is easy to follow. He doesn't fill the pages with to many filler words and descriptions which is refreshing. In this book the manages to mix the characters in a manner intended to make it difficult to pin down the culprit with any certtainty.

I've read all published Craig Johnson / Walt Longmire books and consider him one of the best (along with C. J. Box) western (contemporary) mystery writers. The character development as well as the verbal/mental interplay between them is excellent as are the stories in which they are participants.

ABSOLUTELY A GREAT BOOK!!!!! Craig Johnson is a fantastic author and Walt Longmire is a fantastic Sheriff. The minute you think the mystery is going one way, then.....BAM....redirected somewhere else. I Love Walt and ALL the gang in Absoroka and feel as if I'm a part of that nutty and witty group ( along with Sheriff Longmire), and when I finish a book I get {{temporarily}} sad as if I have to say goodbye to all the Absoroka bunch. I look forward to reading "Hell is Empty".

I picked up a book, and was immediately back where I grew up at: Wyoming. Mr. Johnson has it down. Lakes, Rivers, Counties, Highway Patrol, Cheyenne, Rawlins, abutting states, where everything is relative to each other in the state... And, it's a great Mystery / Detective Book at that.

Having recently read through and thoroughly enjoyed the CJ Box series about The Wyoming Game and Fish Warden Joe Picket I was looking for something else and was recommended Craig Johnson's series on Walt Longmire. Johnson's series of novels compare very favorably with Box; Darn good stories that are easy to read and very hard to put down. Hope he writes a few more of these.

The Longmire series are just an enjoyable series, as a rural deputy for 35 years I can really relate to many of the things he writes about. He tells the tale with enough detail to make you feel the aura but doesn't bore you with the details. Give them a try and you need to read them in order so they make more sense.

Twists and turns in another Longmeier mystery. I couldn't wait for the plot to unfold as usual. This book has quite a few characters I won't forget. Johnson uses such an interesting combination of knowledge in Walt's internal dialogs. He has to be one of the most enlightened peace officers. This was a great read!

This really is about junkyard dogs--both human and canine. I especially loved Geo Stewart, the old junkyard owner. He is a real character who is unfortunately surrounded by the nice-so-nice Duane and Gina. Walt's dog, "Dog" plays a big part in this one. I think you'll like it.

I enjoy the Longmire stories. Having read several now I begin to feel as though I know some f the charcters. I our hectic modern society it's great to think there are still places like Absoroka County.

I love these books. The characters are so well defined and the humor is great. Also, the descriptions of the Bighorn Mountain area are so vivid. I hope he writes more full books, rather than short stories.

This is another of Craig Johnson's books featuring Walt Longmire, one of my favorite characters. The plot is great and held my interest throughout the read. As long as Johnson keeps writing, I will be buying his books. Can't miss.

and he's getting better, the author and hero both. Sometimes, you get comfortable with a character, an author, a series. The reader is rewarded. The body count for this small out of the way town is way high. But the humor and good action sustain a reader's interest. You can't go wrong spending time in Wyoming.

Craig Johnson has written some fabulous characters in the Longmire series. I adore these books and this one was no disappointment. the very beginning is one of the funniest segments I have ever read. Keep up the good work! I can't wait until the next one.

Craig Johnson does wonderful with this series of books. Captures your attention and makes you not want to put the book down. Have decided to reread the whole series again because I enjoyed it so much. You don't know what you are missing if you don't read these books.

Great stories and characters...I find myself racing along, totally involved with all the twist and turn surrounded by great western spaces. I find myself laughing out loud along with Longmire, The worst part is when the story ends, Thank you Craig Johnson!

Touching, exciting, funny, exquisite details and prose, great plot twists. I'm working my way through the whole series, and haven't been disappointed yet. I love these characters, their world and their adventures. Keep 'em coming!

Mr. Johnson's storytelling draws the reader into his world in an irresistable way. He makes the story familiar as if told by a friend. This book ws no exception. I highly recommend it especiallyto Longmire fans.

Craig Johnson does a good job of presenting cases for Walt Longmire to solve. They are intriguing and thought stimulating. Junkyard Dogs fits right in, and will not disappoint the reader. It's one of those novels you do not want to put down.

I give this episode Longmire three stars just because Johnson overdoes it on the dead bodies. I do appreciate how nicely he ties up all the loose ends in the epilogue. I never thought l would be a fan of western after Louis ,L'Amour died, but I am hooked on this Wyoming sheriff.

Craig Johnson's Longmire has become my favorite author. I gave it 4 stars as I have enjoyed other Longmire books more but this is still a very good read. If you are a Longmire fan or a fan of modern Western mysteries, you should enjoy this book.

The Walt Longmire mysteries are set in Wyoming, written by an author who both lives in Wyoming and knows its geography and special character. These are well developed characters and plots. These are just great reads.

I am working my way through the Longmire series, and I haven't read this one yet. I think Craig Johnson is a great author....the stories are always different, and other than Longmire and "Bear" different people weave in and out of the series. Definitely looking forward to this one!

Is there better reading than this series? We enjoy the grit and solid writing this author sells. Do yourself a favor and read these books. We enjoy reading in order as story lines does follow a trail.

With every iteration of his Longmire Mysteries, Craig Johnson out does his previous efforts. Rather than get old or stale, each novel breathes new life into the the rich characters of Absaroka County's sheriff's department.
