LitRPG has seen action, drama, and comedy but until now I’ve never seen it used to such a good effect with a darker bent. The story is a good blend of horror vs adventure (and drama, with a dash of comedy), without becoming too dark. It asks good questions about good and evil, dogma and faith, all while presenting solid adventure through multiple POVs. The best part about all of that is that it does it well. I eagerly await the next books in the series.

Although this book seems to be written as an intro to a dungeon building series it could very well be a standalone story. The primary conflict of the story was resolved and although there are some loose ends, they're not exactly critical to the book.

There were pleasantly few mistakes and all in all in was a quick enjoyable read. I'm not anxiously awaiting the next book but I would read it if it came along.

So overall a pretty good book. The story was solid, and the characters were likeable. The pacing was very good, and overall was well edited as well.

One comment kept it from being 5 stars. Honestly sometimes I felt the author didn't spend enough time to describe the appearance of certain characters (like the "princesses", how did he know they were princesses, how did they differ from the other warriors or even the queen).
World-Tree Online (World-Tree Trilogy Book 1) :: Ritualist (The Completionist Chronicles Book 1) :: Life Reset: A LitRPG Novel: New Era Online, Book 1 :: A LitRPG Novel (Crystal Shards Online Book 1) - Dodge Tank :: Challenge (Unbound Deathlord Series Book 1) - Unbound Deathlord

Meh.
The pacing was slow. The characters other than the main barely got any fleshing out at all. Everyone felt incredibly weak through the whole thing.
Two spells a day? Really? How do you even call yourself a witch if you get two spells irregardless of what they are and then have to fight physically?
Normally this is where I would say that it was a decent first attempt. But this author has quite a few previous books according to the store, so there's no reason for this level of mediocrity.
It killed two hours for me, and that's all i can really say in the positive other than "It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good".

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. However, no-one bothered to mention the seeds that clog the straw. A great story that lets the reader experience the development of Edward, Dungeon Lord without a clue, into showing that its okay to smart and a little bit afraid. Well...just don't show the last one to the minions.

Some little nerd finally has enough of people pushing him around and bullying him his whole life and tries to beat up his boss. Emphasis on tries too, the fight was that pathetic. But apparently, that little episode makes him badass enough to become a dungeon lord. Can I get some logic please??

Unfortunately, the best word I can come with to describe this book is 'bland'. There was always the promise of something good happening, but it never happened. The magic system was basic and vague. The rest of the story just lacked depth and imagination. Will not be reading the next one.

Enjoyable LITRPG

A good book about a man ripped from Earth into a fantasy realm as a dungeon lord.

In this world dungeon lords is a person who acts as the boss and leader. This is the start of the story so minor parts in a dungeon.

BOOK REVIEW......
I found this story to be so boring. I just could not get into it at all. It took me way longer to read then it normally would have to read this book.

NARRATOR REVIEW........
The narrators did okay with what they had to work with.

(Borrowed through Kindle Unlimited) Unlike some of the other dungeon-core LitRPG books I've ready, the Dungeon Lord is this series can move around outside of his dungeon. The author has written a good action/adventure story in the genre, and I enjoyed this story.

I read this book through KU, after seeing it recommended on the LitRPG fb page. Not what I expected, but enjoyable nonetheless. There are a few editorial errors, but not as many as most LitRPG books. Well worth picking up on KU if you enjoy this genre, or fantasy in general.

Video game. Check. Protagonist choosen by higher power. Check. Shows up and is given crazy cheats and powers. Nope nien non I Don't think so. His fights for life feel just like that... Nasty gritty and a pain in the yea. Good book.

Enjoyable read. The world was complex and engaging. The lead character fits like an old, comfortable shoe. What was different was the antagonists' actions, motivation, and back story. I found that to be uncommon. I hope the series continues and will be looking forward reading them.

Interesting anti-hero theme. I enjoyed the game mechanics and found the story to be well written. This story has obviously been thoroughly proofed. Grammer is amazing same with the spelling. The characters were fleshed out well but it didn't overfill the book. Action scenes where inspired.

From start to finish, this one had me hooked. Pulled from his own world and dropped into one so strange yet familiar, Ed lives a dream come true for most of us RPG gamers, if that dream came with nightmares..
I can't wait for the next one!

The story is definitely quite a unique one the only one I've read before that was at all similar was the NPCs series by Drew Hayes which I heartily recommend both it and this tale have great potential!

Character driven hack & slash RPG fun... in a creative story with a Protagonist that serves an evil master while trying his best to be a good person while fighting the wicked who serve the powers of good.

I wasn't expecting the storyline. I actually thought it was another basic the hero starts out from early age and meets tragedy. Then finds he has an unknown power and eventually wins the kingdom, the girl, etc. A well written surprise.
