I was expecting a comedy book about failings at becoming an adult - and that was in this book - but there were also really helpful tips for young adults setting out on their own. Kelly did an excellent job of mixing the two.

Good hints on growing up. Its hard understand if your an adult when you still feel like your not. Now have so many responsibilities like adults. This book helps you figure out how to do things but still be ok with not being an adult

I bought this book a while back at Urban Outfitters because it seemed cute and funny. After flying through it myself, I lent it to 2 different friends who also loved it. Since then, I bought 3 copies on different occasions for friends/my younger brother as gifts. Though the book is cute and funny like I first anticipated, it is also really really helpful! It is written in an anecdotal narrative style while including diagrams and doodles. This book talks about how to save money, basic life skills, how to make friends as an adult, relationships, apartment decorating, and even how to write a bomb-ass thank you note. The chapters are short enough and broken down enough for even those who dislike reading for fun. This is a perfect gift for a college-grad or those who still find adult-ing to be difficult.

Excellent advice wrapped in humor. At 77 I found I still learned how to be mature in certain situations from this book.
Bought several copies for some 20something grandkids. Highly recommended for any age.

This chick is cute, upfront, honest, sassy, and just such a joy to read.
She did a great job with diagrams, funny situations, and opps moments that keep me laughing.
Some things are helpful and I had no idea I should do haha, and other things are funny to laugh at.
Great read! Wonderful book for people just getting out of college, or someone just trying to find herself like me.

I gave this to my high school graduating granddaughter. Now that she's going off to college this information presented in an appropriate way for her will be very important. She will enjoy the humor as well. Good timing.

LOVE this book! I bought it for my young adult. Funny and practical. I bought one book at a bookstore (for double the cost) and loved it so much for my kid I went on the store and bought two more as gifts! Just wonderful!

I absolutely love this book. It has been a constant reference for me in the past couple of years I've owned it. I recently purchased the Audible audiobook version and love listening to it during my morning commute. While this book touches on sexuality in a way that I don't practice as a Christian, I still love the wonderful tips, tricks, and in general how to be a polite functioning member of society found in these 535 steps.

This is a funny, yet practical book that gives tips for acting like an adult. There are many things which seem obvious to some adults, but those adults who are coming out of high school and college might not automatically think of.

Variety of topics dealing with family, job, roommate, bill paying, etc. Not all dry information. Some humorous personal experiences by the author who was in her mid 20s when she wrote the book. I am 63 and read this book wondering if it would be something to help my 23 year old nephew who thinks he is grown-up, but doesn't act it and is tired of parents telling him what he is doing wrong.
I like that Kelly broke being an adult into steps because I think we all realize we are better at some things than others. If we are weak in one area then we can work on it.

I bought this for a friend because she wanted it, and then I decided to read it before I gave it to her. Such a good idea! This is a practical but still extremely entertaining read. I made note of quite a few passages to look back at for reference. Especially about thank you notes! I highly, highly recommend this book!

I really love this book. There are so many things in here I overlook in my day to day life, and after reading I have a different frame of mind in my mid 20s. It has made me more confident, and less lost in the world of being an adult. Would recommend to anyone.

This is fantastic! She offers practical advice that nobody else thinks of and writes in a way that makes you feel less like you're struggling with adulthood and more like you're being encouraged to tackle it.

Love her approach to the concept of adulthood!. Ms. Brown does a fine job of explaining why she thinks the world adult and the becoming an adult is a verb-ongoing and never really done. The conversational tone is a relief from my college textbooks. She is authentic, down-to-earth, smart, and hilarious. There are a handful of helpful tips that will enable you to be more cognizant around your peers and professionals. Highly recommend it!

This is appropriate for a high school student who needs to know what to get for their first apartment. It is "funny"/sarcastic/cute, but not practical. It needs straight forward information on budgeting and how to manage financial temptations (buying clothes, more drinks, etc). Needs information on reading contracts, not getting suckered, how to manage business (personal and work) problems with common sense and without conflict. Got this for my niece (24 yo) who thought "Some of it was funny" but did not find any information that would help her with relationships, work, money.

My daughter was really enjoying this book; even before the book arrived!
It turns out she was reading the author's blog.
Apparently this resonates with the target audience, and provides some useful information.
