If you like Louis L'amour stories, you like these early one from him. I lived in New Mexico and trekked the areas his stories take place in. If you've ever ridden drag or liven in Tularosa ro been to the Silver Spur you'll love the stories.

Quite enjoyable. This is another great collection of exciting Western short stories that are quick reads, but chalk full of adventure and excitement. A great way to escape for a little bit and step back into a time when life was much simpler and a heck of a lot more pure and straight forward.

I was expecting a typical Louis L'Amour book, not a series of short stories. Each story was very good on its own. I enjoyed the book as a whole, but like I said at the beginning, I was expecting one much longer story, not a series of short stories.
Education of a Wandering Man :: Sagebrush :: Mojave Crossing (Sacketts Book 9) :: Ride the Dark Trail (Sacketts Book 15) :: Last of the Breed: A Novel

I liked the short stories very well. You can see the vintage Louis L'Amour style and character develop from story to story. Interesting characters in each story (both the protagonist and antagonist) and Louis proves he always liked to write about a good fist-fight.

Great writing with insightful descriptions of characters, vivid story-lines, good vs bad plots, and feel-good endings. Louis saves the best for last and leaves you wanting more...to experience what was just read. I'll re-read the Tularosa story again!

I have always loved Louis L'Amour. His stories are clean, strong and adventurous! This one is no slacker either. The main character fights for what's right...within the law, and that is what we should all be doing!

Loved this Kindle e-book. I rarely read westerns as a youngster, and now
thoroughly enjoyed Louis L'AMOUR and such a great writing style. Each Chapter is so completely different and about the right length to read before bedtime each night. It definitely has whetted my appetite to watch carefully when there are quality 99cent specials to download! Keep it up Kindle!

Short stories culled from his magazine submissions. L'Amour is the untimate western story teller. The history and the descriptions of the geography draw the reader in and make the stories come alive in techicolor for your imagination. Just plain GOOD!
