A Simple Story About the True Essence of Leadership

This is such a great book. My boss introduced me to it and I have already read it twice. I may pick it up again this week since it's been a while. We give it to our customers as a gift and I know they come to love the story too. Anyone can relate t a person going on a retreat and not really being "in" to the concept of a retreat. Thru the story, you see this man come around to the discover of what leadership really is about. I highly recommend it for any age group or career background.

This is an awesome book for leadership theory and tips. The format of a small group attending a leadership seminar allows for different viewpoints and quotes from multiple leadership sources. It combines ideas from not only Jesus, but also Stephen Covey and many business and social leaders. I highly recommend this book!

I purchased after hearing about it from my work mentor. This book is a must read for anyone who desires to lead people in their current or future roles. After reading it, you should know the difference between a leader and a manager (there is a difference). I'd recommend this book to all in the workforce. It will change your views on how you approach your job.

I was very surprised by this book. I was expecting a typical teaching, textbook style, and instead was pleasantly surprised when the lessons from the author were presented within the setting of a fictional story. This book presents a very imactful way of living your life, not only on a professional level, but on a personal level as well.

I purchased this book electronically, but I will be buying one that I can sit in my office and read bits of over and over for inspiration. It is such a great book for anyone in or aspiring to be a leader.

I liked how the author used the characters to get his point across and makes me want to take a retreat of my own. This book should be read by anyone in a leadership position, regardless of how significant the position is. It will truly make you think twice about the obvious.

Other than the Bible, this book has been the most influential and timely book I've ever read. And yes, I do read a lot. I could not possibly recommend this book more highly. Compared to the way it was presented in this book, every other presentation of servant leadership was boring at best, and made me want to run the other direction at worst. But with this book, I finally got it! And I finally understand why I'm here! The secrets of sacrifice and influence are revealed in this book. You will never regret reading it.
