This was written by someone who understands what I expect when I encounter the claim "Easy Piano". My father recently died, and "Clare de Lune" was a tune of which he often spoke when he was alive as his version of a fine, classical work. There's a version in this book that I was able to play on the first day I had it. Thanks to Allan Small for keeping it real when he wrote this work. I thought I might transition from the "Big Notes" Peanuts Christmas book to this classical piano book after Epiphany.

These are beautiful, classic pieces. The title is correct that they are easy. These are defiantly just above beginner level. With just a little practice I was quickly able to play every piece. I really enjoyed the selection of music they picked for this book.I would absolutely buy this book again.

What a fantastic book! The selections are varied and they were all a lot of fun to learn. They start off very basic and go up in complexity, but the even the hardest one isn't overly difficult.

This book is perfect for those who are just learning the piano and want to get their heads and hands around some well known classics.

My daughter is trying to learn the piano, but wants to try and teach herself first. This book rescued the entire family. She went from playing two songs to playing many. It is so much nicer to hear Beethoven's 9th 400 times in a row than it is to hear Heart and Soul 400 times in a row. Great selection of music, easy to read, room for making notes (literally if needed).

Great book! Difficult, but not too difficult. Beautiful... as someone who doesn't even know that much classical music, I knew most of these songs. I would call this an "advanced beginner" book. Thank you! Worth the money.

If you have any familiarity at all with the printed music scale as a thing to be interpreted by using the black and white keys of a piano, you are likely to find the "42 Famous Classics" EASY (the word 'easy' writ large). But if you are the average, median I.Q., beginning student of music and have had one or two lessons, you can use this book for a short time as a means to improve your skills.

I really love this book. My piano skills are very basic, but this book allows me to play songs that sound lovely to the ear and enjoy practicing. Many "easy piano" books are still pretty intermediate level and too hard for me. This one is actually easy enough for someone very early in their training to use but with pretty classical sounding melodies instead of the "row your boat" type songs the kids books have. Love it and wish this author would do more books like it - or better yet some pop songs for when I don't want classical.

This is a very nice collection. These are legitimately at the "easy" level - I have recently started playing the piano again after not having touched a piano in 15 years, and I can tap through these reasonably well. I took one star off because there are a number of pieces in here I don't consider "famous" - at least they wouldn't be very identifiable as arranged. I bought a few other "easy" books along with this one and this is by far my favorite because the pieces are at the right length and level.

Are you tired of beginners books that are too easy (or too juvenile),
and tired of so-called "Easy" piano books that are not that easy?

Then this is the perfect book, right in between those two levels.

This book is a rare find. The arrangements are pleasant and playable.

Finger suggestions for notes are included in the scores.

Easy choices for a beginner or for someone like me who hasn't played in years and needs to brush up before moving to something more complex. Even if you aren't totally into classic piano, these classics are good exercises and far better that some of the really lame choices in beginner piano books. The pieces go from really easy to not quite so easy. Purchased used and it was in fine condition at a considerable savings.

Very easy sheet music for someone who is re-learning how to read sheet music after 16 years. The book goes from easiest at the front to more challenging towards the back it seems. A great beginners book. Some will find it too easy.

I ordered this book after years of dabbling on the piano because I wanted to learn to read piano music better and to coordinate my left and right hand. This book has provided a challenge that is just right for me at this stage, and most of the pieces sound pretty good in their simplified version. I have improved greatly just in the few weeks I have spent with this book, and by the time I have made all of the music in this book sound smooth I am sure I will be way better than now. It is a good book for beginners and just challenging enough.
