Thankful for the timeliness and kindness of the book. Timeliness, because I'm at a cross roads in my professional life, and its content brings about hope and alternative. Kindness because of the tone and thoughtful research behind its message. I'm in my 40's and recently quit my corporate job, feeling burnout and so tired. I know what I don't want, but can't define what I would like to invest my skills in. The process is less daunting and more thoughtful as I navigate the book. Very glad Jeff acted on his calling ; and thus is now helping others discover their own. Thank you Jeff:)

Jeff Goins is such a great author. He makes sense, he opens you up to other views and he's very inspiring. He knows his stuff and what it takes. Great selection of stories from a diverse group of people. I've read it once, I'm definitely going to read it again. I recommend this book to practically every one who wants to make a difference in their own life and the lives of others.

An extremely real, clear and practical perspective on following your passion and purpose in life. I always recommend this book when someone asks me feedback about a life change or a new direction they want to take. The book brings the issues home without all the unnecessary romanticism, mysticism, and "head-in-the-clouds" perspective similar books offer. A highly reflective and intelligent work.

In this book, Jeff Goins helps the reader sort through all the noise and get an idea of what they are suited for. I've read the book and done a free book study with the author, and I'm impressed enough that I've bought four more copies to give away as gifts.

A pleasure to read and very insightful – I highly recommend this book! Jeff Goins inspired me to follow my dreams and write my own bestseller, after struggling in my spare time for more than 20 years. This book doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but it definitely helped me to figure out some of the right questions, while in search of my own answers. It is a very engaging and inspiring read. Thank you Jeff!

Jeff Goin's perspective on finding one's calling is refreshing. His use of story inspires the reader on a soul level. I learned that finding one's calling is an ever-growing process born not only from an individual's passions but from her life's story as well. I now look forward to settling into the portfolio life he speaks of. I'll definitely look at the different types of work I do on a daily basis differently and will strive to let my life speak to me.

This book was so inspiring & brought forth so many emotions. It reminds us of truths that we all innately know but have either forgotten or swept under the rug... Now the work is left to the reader, who hopefully can find their way forward...

Doubters say, "It's called work for a reason." Maybe, but it's called "Life" for a reason too. Do you want to believe that there's something more? Give yourself permission to believe and permission to ignore the doubters. Then grab a copy of this book and begin your journey. I'm in my fifties and was in the middle of my "Gap Year" when I read it. Now I'm pursuing some of those things that well meaning people discouraged me from doing when I was younger.
You'll be guided to find clarity. You'll learn that your calling doesn't come with fireworks or smack you on the head until you get it. You'll discover a lot of what you already know and a lot you don't. Not only is it a practical guide, it's a great read as well.
Don't wait any longer to begin your journey or breathe new life into the one you're on.

A wonderful and inspirational book to help you get started as a writer, and to know you are a writer when you doubt yourself. It was good to read about how Jeff Goins experienced this throughout the book. I recommend the book.

With clarity and wisdom, Jeff weaves stories of real people into a workable road map for the most important aspect of our lives, our work and Loving Service. A great read I highly recommend for everyone!

This book is a series of seemingly unrealted stories and personal anecdotes, weaved together around the same central theme: what really drives personal fulfillment. The message delivered in this text, while not groundbreaking or new, is tried and true. The modern application of this message is inspiring.

Kick-started in to self discovery with this book only because it had interesting title that I thought would help me "clock the clock" in a artsy way. How wrong I was. Easy reading full of "food for thought" and motivating stories. This is one of those books that will certainly be talked about for years to come. And I will be one of those people talk talk talking about it. Touche' Jeff Goins!

Overall a pretty decent read. Some concepts you've already read before in the self-help section of another book but for the most part offered food for thought on the journey of life and it's meaning in regards to your life's work. Motivational and well written.

Excellent book! I have been looking for my "calling' for years. What I liked about the book is he didn't sugarcoat anything. He kept it real and very direct. He used excellent stories woven through out the book and he kept people interested. It is a good book! Thank you!

This book exceeded my expectations! I would recommend this book very highly to anyone who is feeling a tug in their heart and sensing there is more to life than what they have yet experienced. Jeff is a very insightful and powerful writer. Don't miss this one.

Very insightful. Personally challenged my ideas on purpose & vocation. Comparable to The War of Art by Pressfield & carried some of the insights on vocation as "Every Good Endeavor" by Timothy Keller! Loved it! Grateful for this gift.

This book is easy to read and understand. I loved how Jeff included all the stories and cast the vision that our life work is truly a Portfolio Life made up of many kinds of work and is greater than ourselves. How awesome to leave a legacy that impacts others. Now that I've read the book, it's time to explore the possibilities!!! Oh and I purchased 5 books to give as gifts to high school graduates ... It just seemed like a perfect gift as they begin their next exciting season of life.

A loosely structured series of narratives and anecdotes. Definitely some interesting stories but hardly a "proven path." I would love to see more research and fewer stories. It was good enough to finish reading and I think the author has a lot of potential but I would not recommend this book. Overall there is too much feel good, cliched advice and too little actionable advice and research.

Excellent, actionable information! Jeff writes in a straightforward, understandable and actionable way. This work is very motivational (especially if you get the audio version that he narrates) I recommend it to anyone looking to find art in their work.

This book is exactly what I needed currently. I am still in the process of reading it, but Jeff speaks with such truth and motivates you to go after those dreams rather than just sit around. It is something everyone should read if you have ever wondered what you are being called to.
