OMG!!! I wasn't expecting to experience so much from reading a book. I'm new to Lacey Alexander's work, this book showed up in the "Also bought" section so i sent it to my kindle. My goodness!!! I felt like I was part of the story, as though I was Liz!! I need a cold shower before I begin to study for my Chem test tomorrow ;) I was almost heart broken for Liz nearing the end, I'm so happy that Jack put 2 and 2 together and realized why she did what she did (I don't want to spoil the book for others). It definitely had a happy ending...in more ways than one...

How fitting this book is set in New Orleans, home of spicy Cajun/Creole cuisine, because this book sizzles! If you are looking for a read that will get you "anxious" and keep you that way, this is it.

If you're interested in a book about several ways to have some down and dirty sex, then this is the book for you. I love books that have explicit details, but with a storyline and with people that I become involved with. This book felt like it kept me at arms length. I felt no emotional connection, and for that the book was an uninteresting smut book that did NOTHING for me.

It goes like this--intro to storyline, minor story detail, sex sex sex sex, story, sex times 10, you get the picture. I found myself skipping many pages just to get to the end. I appreciate a good sex scene when intertwined with a storyline but this was all sex, all the time.

I really enjoyed this book from the angle the sex scenes were hot, varied and sexy. However, I got a little tired of the repetitive adjectives (everything was "sweet") and would have loved more character development as I didn't find myself drawn towards any of the characters at all, most especially the vapid Todd. I would still read more from this author, though!

Who could imagine being that uninhibited about sex all in one street. She definitely let go of all her wants to try something new and exciting. Her ex was in the back ground just waiting to pounce but he was too destructive in his wag to get her back and it was over any way. She only wanted Jack

Nothing really to complain about, overall, it just could have been so much better. It was a nice romp of female porn and in that respect, it was satisfying. It's just that some times it bothers me to see the potential of a great story go to waste.

Ms. Alexander certainly knows about things. And the graphic, very graphic details about some of the various ways one can have sex are covered in detail. If you like voyeurism you would enjoy this book. If you are looking for something to read while you are alone and "relaxing" you might find this stimulating. The characters were shallow and one dimensional. The relationship in this story was strictly sexual, very sexual. It leaves me wondering if they didn't have sex would they even be together? I gave the book two stars because I think my husband may benefit happily from my having read the book.

The reviews of this book sounded promising! So I took a gamble and unfortunately I lost. I couldn't identify with the main female character, here she was being cheated on by her fiancé, only to jump in bed with basically stranger herself. That doesn't make any sense at all. This book was going nowhere fast! I lost interest after that. Maybe one day when I am bored out of my mine I will finish this book!

We agree with the reviewer who pointed out that this was erotica not romance. It probably is good if that is what you wanted. For us... we thought detective...romance...a little sex. It has no real story line after the beginning...not what we consider romance...it really is a lot of various sexual scenes put together.

Liz marsh had a major confidence problem only compounded by her intuition that her fiancé was cheating on her. She had always felt she was plain and unremarkable, so when Todd proposed, she thought she was very lucky. They were supposed to be married soon, and she had to find out for sure if he was a cheat, so her friend Lynda recommended a PI named Jack Wade to investigate for her. When she met Jack, she was not prepared for how incredibly sexy he would be. He oozed testosterone and dominance, but his dark eyes were what drew her to him. Jack didn't normally accept cheating spouse cases anymore, but he was instantly attracted to Liz, and decided to make an exception.

It didn't take Jack long to discover where Todd was spending his free time. He was a regular at a local strip club called Club Venus. Jack took some photographic evidence, but as he assumed, Liz wanted to see Todd in action for herself. Liz didn't know what to expect when she arrived with Jack, but was surprised to find she couldn't take her eyes off all the beautiful girls. She admired their freedom, and confidence. Jack couldn't believe Liz's response. He expected her to be disgusted by the activity at Club Venus, but instead she was succumbing to the erotic stimuli. He had never wanted a woman more at that moment, and when they spotted Todd so she could get her confirmation, he hurried her out. Jack wanted to get Liz alone, and more importantly naked. They both wanted to rip each others clothes off, and only made it as far as the alley way a couple of blocks away before lust took over their senses. Liz was falling for the man that had unleashed her wild side.

Todd did not handle the break up well; in fact he said he would never let Liz go. She felt he would calm down, and then things would be okay. After being with Jack, she now realized she never really loved Todd, but was fulfilling other peoples expectations of her. When Todd began terrorizing Liz, and threatening Jack's life, she didn't know what to do. He told her if Jack found out about his threats, he would be killed. Her only choice was to distance herself from everyone she cared about to protect them because she had no one now that could help her.

What a hot erotic journey Liz and Jack take you on. This story is not for the faint of heart as it is very explicit. Liz has no sense of self worth until she meets Jack, and he gives her the encouragement to be herself. She in turn helps him heal a broken heart left by his mother many years ago. Good suspenseful story that will keep you hooked until the end!

This one is RED HOT! If you like an adventurously erotic love story, you will love "French Quarter". Set in the steamy town of New Orleans, temptation is something you give into, not something you avoid.

Proper Liz Marsh suspects that her fiance is cheating on her, so with a suggestion from a friend, she goes to see PI Jack Wade. Though Jack tells her he no longer takes cheating cases, he relents to her sweet persistence, intrigued by this provocative woman, and more than a little turned on by her. Liz is helplessly attracteded to the sexy Cajun with the promise of sin in his eyes. When Jack provides proof of her fiance's infidelity, she decides to throw caution to the wind and explore the intense attraction between the two of them, and Jack is more than happy to oblige. Shedding inhibitions she's had for years, Liz discovers a side of herself she never knew existed, but revels in the freedom it gives her to act out her wildest fantasies. With Jack along every step of the way, Liz gives free rein to her sexuality, doing whatever feels good. Her new lover inspires a confidence and a sense of adventure that will leave you feeling the heat through each encounter. He makes her feel safe yet also more of a woman than she's ever felt.

WOW! French Quarter is sizzling, and extremely erotic. Yet at the core of this book is a romantic story, one of two people who fall in love while pushing the limits of their sexuality. It's an explosive combination. This story would not be as powerful if Liz and Jack did not have romantic feelings for each other almost from the beginning. The connection between the two is strong, and the trust Liz gives to Jack is very empowering. In turn, Jack's desire to see Liz happy and fulfilled reveals the emotions he cannot ignore for this special woman. It is a true partnership in every sense of the word. I loved it.

WARNING! Dress lightly, turn on the A/C, get yourself comfy, and prepare yourself for the swelteringly hot erotic heat and the sizzlingly sultry humidity of the "French Quarter" by Lacey Alexander.

Liz Marsh needs a man, and she'll do anything to get him to do what she needs done, and by the time all is said and done, she'll have done just about everything!

Jack Wade, oh let's see, what can I say about Jack? Jack, the ever-protective, hot as Hades, "drips sexual arrogance" man will turn Liz's world, and his own, into an inferno of blazing lust, just by accommodating the sex-starved Liz in her quest for carnal knowledge. Poor Jack, the things he has to do for a paycheck these days. *grin*

Suspecting her fiancé of cheating on her, she needs Jack Wade, the private investigator her friend Lynda recommended, to find out the truth so she can free herself from this obligation of an engagement. From the moment Liz sets eyes on Jack, the "dark-haired god of all that is sexual", and hears his "rich as dark chocolate" voice, her pretty but not sexy, conservative, play-by-the rules self, turns to vapor in the sweltering humidity of Jack's office. As Liz is trying to convince the sexy-as-sin Jack to take her case, in walks Ty ... Liz soon realizes she's much sexier, lustful, and adventurously playful than she would have ever thought herself capable of being and all it took was for one sexy private eye to coax it out of her.

"French Quarter" is an incredibly fun and sexy story where Jack and Liz embark on many lustful adventures with no expectations of a lasting relationship, much less love, and when expectations start to grow on both sides, they become blinded by their fears. Knight-in-shining armor Jack comes to the rescue more than once, only to find the situation controlled but in need of backup. But, who is protecting who? I hope Ms. Alexander writes a spinoff of this "Hot in the City" trilogy. I think Lynda has a story to tell, and I, for one, would love to get to know Ty a lot better! However, before that and next up is Diana (Liz's sister) and Marc's story.

Ms. Alexander has penned not only a very sensual and erotic read, but a good read as well with wonderful characters, and a touch of suspense.

Liz is a good girl and has always done the right thing. But when she thinks her fiance Scott is cheating on her she hires P.I. Jack Wade to find out just what Scott is up to. What she doesn't count on or expect is the sizzling attraction that Jack and she instantly feel. Can this attraction turn into something more?

Jack doesn't do the "cheating partner" cases anymore but there is just something about Liz that he can't say no to. Maybe it's her sweet yet spicy looks and nature. Or maybe, just maybe he sees something that he didn't realize he was looking for. When he accepts the case and provides proof that Scott is less than honest Liz doesn't accept photographic evidence. Jack offers to take her with him when he follows Scott one more night. Soon Liz is forced to accept that her fiance is a creep, and that Jack awakens her senses in ways she never imagined. Will Jack allow himself though to feel more than just physical pleasure with Liz or will he finally open his heart to love?

This was a very sensual read. Jack and Liz very interesting characters and Scott makes a good but weak villian. This was a very fast read that truly brought to life the outlandish and sensual side of New Orleans. If you like your heros hot and the love scenes hotter than look no further than Lacy Alexander. She is an author worth picking up.

A fruitful exotic read with various types of sexual scenes, female to female, 3P, sex shows.....

However the story itself is lacking the strength and solidity to put readers into the characters.

A good read if see it as a porn or sth, a poor read if see it as a story.

okay lets start by saying how sexy this book was. definite gem. first the bad: while there was a plot, the plot wasnt too prominate. however, it spiced up the characters. also, the plot, while not necessarily in the foreground, was written in such a way that the timeline seemed a bit rushed. now the awesome: there was tons and tons of amazing sex. no single act was repeatedly described. all positions, situations, etc. were great. in fact, some very original. another thing i very much enjoyed was the fact that the sex scenes were very fluid in terms of transitions. it didnt seem to be over done.

i would most certainly recommend this one to anyone. it was a decent length, about 250 or so pages, and as an avid erotica reader, this is a hard thing to find. all in all, very good buy!

This book is amazingly hot. The storyline started out well but then kind of fizzled at the end but the sex scene's made up for the story in my opinion. If you are just looking for a love story this book is not for you but if you are looking for every kind of sex scene then you will love this book. It hits on voyuerism, m/f/m, girl on girl and more.

Need I say more? I have no problem reading something steamy, but there is a big difference between a romance and erotica. Label this what it is: erotica. Romance novels center around a conflict that brings the hero and heroine together, which results in the romance and subsequently includes sex as an ingredient. French Quarter: Hot in the City is pure sex intertwined around a feeble plot that only exists as a setup for raunchy sex. I haven't read anything this dirty since Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy.

I rarely leave reviews because I agree with what has been written most of the time. This time I completely disagree. This book is terrible and is only the second book in 25 years of reading that I put down and deleted off my Kindle. I don't mind sex in stories as long as it is a part of the storyline and doesn't dominate the pages just to make the novel longer. This book is nonstop descriptive sex, page after page. It literally was difficult to read. I thought at some point it would stop after the strip club but continued even when it was no longer necessary to prove a point. This book was like a thick itchy wool sweater on a 100-degree day. So uncomfortable I just had to rip it off and pack it away for Goodwill.

As strictly erotica, this book is HOT! As romantica, not so much. There isn't much in the way of a plot, or character development. But if you're looking for some steamy sex in just about any way you can imagine (and some you wouldn't even begin to), then this is a book for you.
