Review:Richard Feynman must have been a very interesting fellow! Too bad we all didn't get a chance to have a conversation with him in person. However, reading his books is the next best thing...he writes like he's in your living room. Read more
Review:I recalled this title recently from my high school years of many decades ago. In the current time, it was as powerful now as I recalled it to be. Truly a gut-wrenching classic on experiencing unethical discrimination. Read more
Review:Doesnt have anything you cant find online on a forum for workingout. And I find the advice of you shoukd always check with a doctor before trying something is bad advice. My doctor usually will look at me somewhat confused and then reply back to me "should be fine to take it but theyre are no miracle pills". Not what you want to hear about something you dont know about. Do the research yourself first Read more
Review:Cabane has an interesting subject, but she inflated it too much and therefore diluted it. There was however a couple of gems that reminded me how others experience you. For instance, she takes a Zen / Taoist philosophy of being as much in the present as possible, i.e. without distraction of what you are busy doing. Simply by reigning in your overactive mind and devoting your full attention to anyone gives you more charisma. That and a couple of other helpful bits on how to greet someone, how to ... Read more
Review:I enjoyed reading this book, I found a few things that I was already doing most days and if you that I just hadn't thought of before but they were so simple. I have already started adding to my daily ritual with my husband and seen an improvement in Our affection towards each other. Read more
Review:I'm probably really not going to say anything new to contrast all the other reviews of this book. It's a great work that is truly inspirational and offers, through a substantive narrative fiction, a justification for trying to be as awesome and happy as possible at all times. Definitely worth the read. Read more
Review:I have found this book very insightful with the thoughts and action of my 11 year old daughter. The world is a changed place and very different from when I grew up. Mary has a lot of advice and insight that any parent can find useful. Read more
Review:Imagine the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Thousands of people displaced and in danger. Families separated and unsure where to go or what to do. A government in chaos, unable (at least initially) to be of any assistance. Then imagine that this chaos had lasted an ENTIRE decade. That some of these families were so poor and so desperate to keep their children safe, that they sold just about every possession they owned in order to PAY to try and keep their children from being conscripted into a re... Review:I loved 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE -- http://www.amazon.com/Habits-Highly-Effective-People-Powerful/dp/1451639619 -- I bought this one, expecting more of the same. But this book is problematic, I had to stop reading. Why? Too many places where he comes across as judgemental of anyone who is not the same religion as he is. It's subtle, but after a while, it's intolerable.I don't need his ongoing underhanded reminders that you gotta do it the way his god sayeth. Perhaps the problem is he ... Read more
Review:Most of the comments expressing disappointment here have to do with content. I bought the CD audio version and I am actually okay with the content. It's good not great, but certainly sufficient to hold my interest.
My disappointment relates to the poor enunciation of one of the reader / authors, Professor Steven D. Levitt. He is obviously an intelligent, insightful man but the CD suffers because he does not enunciate well. His speaking volume declines drastically at the end of senten... Read more
