Parenting & Relationships
Review:I definitely appreciate the fact that an author finally recognized the issue of having a borderline parent. However, you can tell the author is simply a good author...that's it. She has no personal experience to speak from nor is she a therapist of any sort...at least this is the impression I get. Reducing signs/symptoms, outcomes, probable causes and such in bullet points kinda reduces it to a cold or flu. I found other books to be more helpful HOWEVER this would be a great book if you're j... Read more

Review:What a beautiful, poignant and moving book. Reading this book is like sitting down with a good friend and chatting over lunch. She’s the friend who can say what's in your heart but expresses it so much better. She conveys these 12 phrases through offering us glimpses into her own life. One minute she's telling you how she went ballistic over a toilet that wasn't flushed (by the way, if you ever find yourself at Kelly's house don't let the dog lick you ?), and the next minute she's breaking your ... Review:Great read for those who recently had a relationship end. The book explained not only my feelings, but I also explained what my ex was going through and why she likely acted the way she did. The book really helped make sense of all this upheval in my life and help me place things into proper perspective. If you just ended a relationship and are looking for insights and answers, then this book is a must read. Read more
Review:I actually enjoyed the creative ideas for rewards. Children should learn to EARN. We adults earn our paychecks, and children need to be taught not everything is handed to them forever. She offers great ideas. I do not agree with the Bible as an instrument of discipline. I think this will only encourage children to resent the Bible, a love letter from our savior. Teach principles without a hell-fire and brimstone approach. Read more

Review:This is an amazing and disturbing book. Why someone didn't intervene during her school days is hard to grasp. It's amazing she escaped suicide. I'm so glad her life has a happy ending and I hope she finds her sister. Read more
Review:This was indeed many stories about Heaven. Coming from the mouths of babies, who were not able to judge yet, or had not been seen as old enough to be taught anything spiritual, how can anybody not believe it? I found it truly comforting. Read more
Review:Living with a child going through what myself and his mom could not understand, this book helped us realize that what we were going through was indeed normal.
It was a huge relief to feel we were not unique in our situation (for once). Read more
Review:Although the concepts discussed are informative, this follow-up to Duckerman's original, "Raising Bebe" read a lot like a Cliff's Notes of the original. I thoroughly enjoyed "Raising Bebe" & found it very helpful in considering French parenting styles & discussing along with my husband, who is French. Unfortunately, Bebe Day by Day turned out to be nothing new. It re-stated most of the concepts previously discussed in the first book, in a nearly outline-type format. It was also very... Read more
