Geekomancy (Ree Reyes Series Book 1)
Geekomancy (Ree Reyes Series Book 1)

Review:I hate to give negative reviews of fantasy works. The book is filled with fanboy references...Got it. Here is the bad news: the characters are one-dimensional, the action is "and then this happened", the plot is not cute or arresting.
Main character is hot without knowing it...kinda like "she's the one' meets any Buffy clone. And you get D&D type point references for each person. The point references get in the way of reading.
The magic system would have been a cool idea but the ru... Read more

Shattered Glass
Shattered Glass

Review:Wow. What a roller-coaster ride through Detective Austin Glass's life as he goes to a dive of a diner to meet an informant, becomes obsesses with a pair of bunny slippers on a busboy and then all hell breaks loose, with his case, his career, his love-life, and just about everything and everyone's life around him, too!

Review:I haven't read this author's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, [book:The Sympathizer|23168277], so I was glad to have the opportunity to read this short volume of stories to get a feel for his writing and now I will for sure read it. We meet the ghosts, their families, the culture, the country of of their birth - Vietnam , and inevitably the undercurre... Read more

Children and the Search for Identity - Far From the Tree
Children and the Search for Identity - Far From the Tree

Review:I think this is the best written and most interesting book I've read all year.

The size is a bit daunting, but the book is divided into smaller sections (Dwarfism, Deafness, Downs' Syndrome, prodigies, children who commit crimes, etc) and each one is relatively self contained.

The author combines lots of research and statistics with in depth connections with individuals in each section. He presents viewpoints and does not push conclusions. Read more

The Gravity Between Us (New Adult Contemporary Romance)
The Gravity Between Us (New Adult Contemporary Romance)

Review:I wish more authors could emtwine a good story as this. I tried the audio but for some reason I was fond of the voice and impressions of the charactees. I guess the story unfolded magically in my own imagination. But it is by far the best read and its very rare to find a good developing story where the characters aren't rushed into a scene. Thanks for sharing this story with the world. It was lovely weaved to where situations seem real and not really fabricated. Read more

The Current Between Us
The Current Between Us

Review:this is a phenomenal read. the characters are stunningly.developed. human, flawed with baggage, fears and the ability to grow beyond themselves, to.be open to new possibilities and grow stronger. the story is engaging with a few unexpected plot twists that call.for greater strength and development. I cannot strongly enough recommend her works and hope she continues to write more like this Read more
