This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity)
This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity)

Review:This Savage Song clearly has a theme: the monster who wants to be human and the human who wants to be a monster. Yes, they are going to meet on the side of human rather than monster. But the premise of the worldbuilding here is intriguing and the story moves briskly. It's a quick read with a solid ending that does not rest on a cliffhanger.

Story: Kate Harker's father is the warlord controlling half the city of Verity; a city under siege by monsters manifested from humanity's evil. If y... Read more

Review:I really loved this book

It took me a little bit to get into the story but once I did I was hooked, I loved the characters I did guess a little early on what was going on but it didn't spoil it for me I really enjoyed the whole story.

Reborn (Shadow Falls: After Dark)
Reborn (Shadow Falls: After Dark)

Review:Reborn was on my wishlist because I enjoyed the Shadow Falls series, and I so wanted to be in Della's head. I love C.C.'s writing so far, and from what I have seen from Della as Kylie's best friend, I love her humor, her loyalty and her badassness.
Things get going pretty quickly, giving Della a mystery to look into with her family history and maybe figuring out if there was another supernatural in the family. Her parents and sister are norms, and she has to hide who she truly is. They are ... Read more

Out of the Easy

Review:Normally I shy away from these books because historical books are not really my thing. However my blogging friend, Bekka pretty much forced this book on me. I trust her opinion, so I decided to give this book a try. This book really surprised me in a lot of ways. I ended up really liking it more than I expected to.

I loved Josie as a main character. She knew what she wanted as well as what she didn't want. She didn't allow herself to fall into the same habits her mother had adopted. Unlik... Read more

The Thousandth Floor
The Thousandth Floor

Review:Fabulous futuristic setting, terrific character development. I was, however, completely taken aback by the abrupt ending, having no idea it was intended to be part of a series. Imho, a "next in series" blurb should have followed that final chapter to give readers some context. Otherwise, the ending is far too abrupt and not at all believable. The character development of the final chapter's character in no way prepared me to believe that she has the skills and capability to right a wrong of that... Read more

Review:I was looking for something a little different from the typical dystopian fiction I've been reading lately, and this was it. It's a great change to read something that leans towards science fiction but has a plot and characters that I can really enjoy and follow. I'm anxiously awaiting the second book!! Read more

As Red as Blood
As Red as Blood

Review:This book failed to impress. Maybe something is lost in translation. Characters bored me. Plot was predictable. Overall snorefest. I only gave it a two because it did manage to keep me from having to talk to the guy next to me on the plane. Read more

Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy Book 1)
Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy Book 1)

Review:by Axie Oh

The title of Jennifer Estep's young adult urban fantasy Touch of Frost is very literal, considering the main character's power. Whenever Gwen Frost touches a person or an item meaningful to a person, she gets "flashes;" images and feelings of that person, whether the person was angry, scared, happy, or in love. I hope Kiss of Frost (sequel to be released in December) will be just as literal; that is, Gwen better be sharing the love.

Gwen Frost is the new student at Mytho... Read more

The Lying Game #6: Seven Minutes in Heaven

Review:This book was absolutely amazing. I was so hooked on it that I stayed up until 1 in the morning reading it. There was so many unexpected twist to it. I was so sad when I found out who the killer was, but I somehow knew it all along. It was a great end to the series, she wraps it up very well. Although I am very sad to see the series end, I wish there was another book!! I am excited to read the Lying Game Novellas next and will be sure to put up a review for them. Sarah! Please write another book... Read more
