Review:It seems this book was written as a compilation from different sources. It is not coherent and very high level. Personally I found it useless and not worth the cost. After I bought it, I went through it in about half an hour and then put it aside.
The overall message is common wisdom that we have heard, practiced or read before. There is nothing new or intriguing.
It seems everyone is getting, these days, into the habit of putting together books that are superficial just to create... Read more
Review:This book is terrible. First, it wasn't published by a publishing company...? Which makes sense considering there are excessive grammatical errors. Second, the author literally references the KU KLUX KLAN as an example of a group that concerns itself highly with the "value stage" of friendship. He says, "they are built upon a specific set of beliefs that bonds them together. We are similarly looking for people who think like us, and who we can ultimately relate to." If the author sent this to a ... Read more
Review:This is by far my favorite Seth Godin book. Every time I start to lose faith in my vision and goals I re-read this and remind myself that I haven't got to the other side yet, I'm still in the dip.
If you are looking for something/someone to tell you that you are on the right path (or wrong one as the case may be) then this book is the right choice. Read more
Review:Probably the best writing teacher I have some across. William Zinsser's wisdom is simple, straight forward and he has been my guiding light for years. I have read his books and wanted to own the tape to listen to on my walkman while I walked the dogs. The tape is in practically new condition and I am so happy to have it to hear his voice. I am only sorry I never met him and was deeply saddened to learn of his death recently. Read more

Review:I purchased this thinking that since I know the GTD system and use Evernote but want to expand my usage especially for GTD, this would be a good guide. He spends way too much time explaining GTD (you really should read Allen's book itself). He expounds the virtues of Evernote for GTD but with little practical substance of the nuts and bolts of setting up a working GTD system in it. He also spends too much time on Allen's six levels, which I think is the weakest area of awllen's book (but then... Read more
Review:With change running rampant in the new economy of 2009, I realized that I needed to hone and brush up on my selling skills.
I checked out a copy from my local library. It is a quick read and gives you many actionable tips that you can put to immediate use.
Rainmaking is a mindset, away from focusing on your sale, to delivering value to your customer.
I particularly liked his tactics of dollarizing the value and selling money instead of a product or service. I plan to imple... Read more
Review:It's probably impossible to accurately review a book on negotiation until you've had time to try the book's ideas. Having just read it, it's difficult to say whether the techniques will be effective. That said, the book is a collection of negotiating tactics--behavior, really. Some sound very useful, e.g., "Blank slate" your mind, meaning take your focus off of the desired outcome and concentrate on the process itself. Which dovetails with another point about never letting yourself be drive... Read more
Review:An amazing book with such sources mole tools. I have developed further from these tool sets to include a clean approach to exploration that holds the limbic emotional system in support to get to the human rational response. Well worth a read top shelf Read more
Review:Several points are new to me. It makes me consider to look at value investing. I am half way through the book, it is more like mind setting for investing instead of solid calculation or number boundary to refer to. I am new in stock market. It is good for me to know what are the things I need be aware. Read more
