Thrillers
Review:This is my first experience with this author. I will read more. This book takes you into the life of an author who is married with a child and seems to be struggling with the day to day life of writing and being a father. There is some history prior to the abduction but once the story get started you find out some interesting details about his past. The book has some surprises and when the struggle of holding it together for the two main characters after the daughter goes missing throws you into... Read more
Review:What a disappointment, from an author some of whose earlier works hit the mark so well. The characters in this book are flat and one-dimensional; there is little true feel for place or period, and, to top it all off, the details relating to flight are childishly naive. Overall: slow, plodding, predictable; hardly worth slogging through. Read more
Review:This is a typical John Gilstrap book. Once you start reading you can't put it down(unless your house is on fire. If that happens, grab your Kindle and run.) His books are never boring, always contain enough humor to keep you sane and the plots are believable. The main characters become your best friends and you always wait (not patiently!) for the next Gilstrap book. Keep them coming Amazon. Read more
Review:This was a wonderfully written book. I fell in love with Logan. He is a tortured soul that learns to feel again. From the beginning of the book I was drawn in. Rob Sinclair waltzes you through the ups and downs, twists and turns and has you begging for more at the end. I look forward to the next book. And I would recommend this to anyone who wants a thriller with a touch of romance. Read more
Review:Enjoy action, mystery, tough guy movies, but this book leaps from one life or death confrontation to the next at a rate beyond believable. As the plot progresses the hero escapes from non-escapable situations at a dizzying pace, employing totally non-plausible or science fiction level devices and tactics. A little more restraint and reality would improve these books in my opinion. Read more
Review:Victor is one bad ass dude, very lucky too. Great action with a good pace and a plot that adds many twists and turns. Even a few surprises. Well worth the money this series of books has been great in the two I have read so far. Read more
Review:THE SETUP
The novel is set in the mid-1990s, between the two US/Iraq wars. Following the widespread and disparate deaths of three Americans from an unknown hemorrhagic fever-type disease, Sophia Russell, of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases is assigned to investigate. In the process, she remembers a similar disease she had observed as an undergrad on a archaeological field-trip to Peru, where she had met pharmaceutical researcher Victor Tremont, who later had b... Review:Enjoyed more than Ludlum's last book and am pleased that Paul Garrison is continuing the series. Fun quick read, and lots of the content that makes a satisfying thriller. Can't wait for his next one in the series. Read more
Review:Once again Steve Berry keeps the action rolling from page one until the end. I love history, but have not really heard about the Knights of the Golden Circle. I can honestly say I learned a lot about them from this book. I really enjoyed all the scenes that took place at the Smithsonian Institute. What an interesting history. I also loved the fact that the actual Castle Curator, Rick Stamm, is a part of the book. Keep up the good work Mr Berry! Can't wait for the next one! Read more
Review:I love this trilogy. The writing is definitely tacky and preachy in spots concerning American ideals and exceptionalism, but overall, the plot was gripping and I finished the book in only a day or two. Read more
