Vicious Circle (A Joe Pickett Novel)
Vicious Circle (A Joe Pickett Novel)

Review:Reading the reviews so far, I guess it all depends on the readers expectations. I, too, have read all of the Joe Pickett series, & this one is very good. C.J. Box writes an entertaining, well-developed story. From the setting, to the characters, to the plot line, everything is well conceived & interesting. I suppose some may believe that Joe's story is somewhat trite because Joe and/or his family is frequently threatened. However, this book is called "Vicious Circle". It's to be expected... Read more

History of Wolves: A Novel
History of Wolves: A Novel

Review:This book is maddening. Emily Fridlund is a capable writer. But she spends too much effort on the details: the words, the phrases, the sentence. Pretty prose indeed. But what is this book about? I really couldn't say for certain even after slogging through the whole thing. Slogging, because the author does very little to push the plot. She forces the reader to concentrate on the small picture and partially formed characters.

The book is obviously a coming-of-age story. But too many side p... Read more

A Suspenseful Psychological Thriller - Behind Her Eyes
A Suspenseful Psychological Thriller - Behind Her Eyes

Review:I honestly don't even know how to review this book, but here goes....

I read a lot of books, like A LOT a lot. And I'm partial to psychological thrillers, but this book is on a WHOLE other level. I can usually figure out the ending, and only a handful of times have I been fooled, but THIS literary mind**** kept me guessing every chapter. I can confidently say that you won't guess the ending, and if you do I'd like to speak to you...

That being said, this may not be everyone's cup o... Read more

A Collection Of Riveting Haunted House Mysteries - Ghostly Secrets Super Boxset

Review:Good start for a series, looking forward to the rest of the story. Second series of three stories is even better than the first set. Both series have a great ending and final resolution. Getting ready to read more of this author. Read more

Review:I READ "THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS" AND THOUGHT: "WHO IS THIS AUTHOR"? I REALLY ENJOYED THAT BOOK. WELL, IF ONE LOOKS HIM UP ON THE INTERNET HE MYSTERIOUSLY KEEPS HIS IDENTITY AS THE AUTHOR OF THE FELIX CASTOR NOVELS A SECRET. NO CROSS CREDITS BETWEEN HIS M.R. CAREY WEBSITE AND HIS MIKE CAREY WEBSITE. PERHAPS IT IS BECAUSE OF HIS FAME AS AN AUTHOR OF COMIC BOOKS (EXCUSE ME, GRAPHIC NOVELS) AND HIS RELUCTANCE TO BUILD ON THAT FAME. WHATEVER IS THE CASE HIS WRITING IS GOOD. HOWEVER, AS FOR ... Read more

Wisteria Witches (Wisteria Witches Mysteries Book 1)

Review:Happened to find this series by chance and what a great discovery for me. Lots of snarky humor, great slow character development, and backstory developing. Lots of suspects and attention to detail. I like all the characters and excellent ending. Read more

Still Not Over You: An Enemies to Lovers Romance
Still Not Over You: An Enemies to Lovers Romance

Review:I loved Landon and Kenna! Their story was so exciting and sexy to read. There were twists and turns, frustration, humor and panty-melting scenes. NS kept me entertained from start to finish. I highly recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Read more

A Scanner Darkly
A Scanner Darkly

Review:If someone were to ask me which author can consistently grab your attention with the very first sentence of a book, I'd have to say PKD, hands down. It all starts off with a man who is shaking invisible aphids from his body and he's afraid that they're going to eat him. If that's not weird, nothing is, and only PKD would have thought of it. But the bugs, though interesting, are not what this book is about. It is about drugs, and a cop that has to take on the role of a drug-user. The idea is exce... Read more

VALIS (Valis Trilogy)
VALIS (Valis Trilogy)

Review:Valis is the product of a few things: Dick's 1974 hallucinatory experiences, his belief that whetever the eye sees is reality on some level, and his own zany brand of writing.
The book consists of a mix of autobiography, Dick's Gnostic philosophies, his interpretations of his 1974 experiences, and a fictional story of schizophrenically-projected Horselover Fat (projected by none other than "Phil" who has written himself into the story ala 'Radio Free Albemuth') so it's not really a fictional ... Review:Rias told Hawke" you're the only one I know who found his mate twice & Hawke responded "If Rissa lived, I would've been mated for years before I ever met Sienna"??wth?
Hawke still believes Rissa is his mate? This contradicts what he said In Kiss of Snow "it was easier to believe that my shot at mating died w Rissa than to risk that kind of pain again"( because they never mated, they were kids) Changelings only mate once!
Rias did not pursue his mate Lissete? But they never mated. Inste... Read more
