The Zero Blessing (The Zero Enigma Book 1)
The Zero Blessing (The Zero Enigma Book 1)

Review:I found this book well written and liked the concept very well. The comparison and contrast with the Schooled in Magic series (by the same author) leaves this as a world I would like to read about more! Read more

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna Dressed in Blood Series Book 1)
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna Dressed in Blood Series Book 1)

Review:**SPOILER**

I really enjoyed this book. It really did seem like genuine high school students and not just another poorly written version of someone's perception of high school students.

I enjoyed the whole ghost killer thing it wasn't your usual vampire/zombie thing which is refreshing.

I did find the whole "he falls in love with a ghost" thing a little weird but it was well executed so it was a good weird.

The voodoo man thing could have been a little better but most... Read more

The Ugly Princess: The Legend of the Winnowwood
The Ugly Princess: The Legend of the Winnowwood

Review:I wish they'd allow for partial stars because although I wouldn't say it's a 5 star, it's definitely more than a 4, in my opinion.

Inspiring, emotional, and with the occasional remark/event that had you giving a little laugh out loud.

I did find some parts of the book rushed and felt that a longer scene would have really added to the story, but overall, I'd recommend this to anyone as a good heartfelt read. Read more

Review:The Archived by Victoria Schwab

5 out of 5 gnomes

The Archived gives History a whole new meaning. This is such an intriguing book with its plentiful flashbacks, insight into a grieving family, and a fantastical secret world. Mackenzie Bishop’s character is truly complex and will have you rooting for her to succeed.

This book also has a wholly unique explanation for what happens/where people go when they die. As the tag line of the book states, “Imagine a place where the d... Read more

Rise Of The Six (The Preston Six Book 1)
Rise Of The Six (The Preston Six Book 1)

Review:Rise of the Six flows so smoothly and captured my interest so intensely that I didn't want to put it down. Lots of action and I like how it has a bit of sci-first built in. Kept me trying to guess what was going to happen next. The author did a great job of keeping me interested and wanting more! Read more

Magemother Book 1 (A Kids Fantasy Adventure Book Series for Teens and Young Adults)
Magemother Book 1 (A Kids Fantasy Adventure Book Series for Teens and Young Adults)

Review:My sister recommended these books, mainly because the first book was on special price. I ended up purchasing the whole series- which was for a great price. So, for the price, it is a good read. I was looking to satisfy my reading "tooth" after finishing Harry Potter and Alchemyst series. Books were good enough to keep me going, but not something that I would re-read. I will definitely have my children these series though! Read more

How to Catch a Monster
How to Catch a Monster

Review:My3yr6mth grandson had a problem making the switch from 'monster' to the father. The 'change' was too abrupt for him on the first reading. I'm not so sure that the monster/father should be lured into the room by cookies..and then swing his son around right before bedtime...but there is charm in the illustrations and the message to make bedtime a happy event is lovely.. childrens books - childrens books

Review:The book is schizophrenic. The character development can't decide if the audience is 5 yrs old or 30. I would assume it was written by an someone who forgot how to tell stories to little kids. It might be good for a 9 year old who could read it for their self, except that it is too long. Read more
