Review:Once I saw this cover, I knew I had to have this book and, boy, did it amaze me. It's hard to properly describe this book, but the words "innovative" "unique" and "one-of-a-kind" come to mind. Not to mention the fact that the magnificent world-building surpassed all expectations. The very concept of weaving the world is unique in itself, and it's easy for any fantasy lover to be entranced by the world that Albin weaved for us. This book is beautifully complex and enthralling, I easily got throu... Read more
Review:I was a little shocked, I didn't think that George RR Martin did anything in less than 150 pages. it's an interesting story, but it doesn't really seem to fit with any of his other works. All in all, a good purchase I'd say. Read more
Review:Please be aware this is one oversized large volume. The title "boxed" threw me off and I thought it was a boxed set of three novels. hovever that said, this set is RECOMMENDED! I just finished this large volume of all 3 works: Claus, Jack, and Flury. You need to read them all, all though you could skip the middle one (but why?). The first one, Claus, is the necessary key to the others. Rated G for all audiences. Teens may enjoy it as well. Perfect for reading on cold snowy nights and for those ... Read more
Review:I don't think I've cracked up this hard over a book in a while. It pokes fun at everything silly and nonsensical about the fantasy realm video game style. Definitely a worthwhile read if you're looking for some quick laughs throughout the book. Read more
Review:I cannot get enough of morganville... I am always reading in my spare time and I put myself in morganville and feel the emotion and experience that are getting... love it... already started the next book. Read more
Review:Honestly when I started reading this series I had high hopes. It began well and was a quick read. The second book was less appealing than the first and the third book nearly made me break out in hives. By the fourth and final book I wanted a nuclear explosion to happen and just kill them all except the bear! Too many twists with plot over hidden plot. I nearly began to root for the Elders to kill off Nora, but being the main character that wasn't likely. So in the end, after all of the hype, she... Read more
Review:I bought this book, thinking it sounded interesting. I didn't realize how much I would really love it.
After Cosmo Hill escapes the orphanage he so intently hates, he meets a group of three people that call themselves the 'Supernaturalists'. They have the same gift as he does; they can see blue life-sucking parasites.
In this book, the action never stops. It normally takes me a long time to finsih a book, but this was so interesting, I finished it in days. I simply couldn't stop re... Read more
Review:An interesting twist on a dystopian that left me wanting more. I totally found that this was a young woman who found herself dreaming of a wonderful future to have those hopes dashed and in a situation that was not of her making. Instead she has to fight for her freedom and maybe with some help, make society better and free from the machine that is the Cardinal.
Rebecca seems like any teenager who is looking forward to becoming a member of society. She dreams of having everything that can... Read more
Review:Writing a successful YA series that appeals to tweens, teenagers and adults alike (such as Harry Potter and The Hunger Games) is quite a skill and not one that this series achieves.
While I think teenagers would probably quite enjoy this series, as an adult I found it far too long and drawn out, overtly cheesy and predictable. You know the plot lacks intelligence when you can easily predict the ending before you have even picked up the fourth and last book.
The only character I rea... Read more
Review:Though I don't care for Ms. Phineas' name selections I did enjoy the plot and progression of events. What did the black birds in the tree at Heartease signify; what precipitated their departure? I'd recommend this story to all middle school readers and any adult who wants a good read. You should never judge a book by its cover - nor people either! Read more
