Review:This was a surprising book with a wide-variety of characters: a rich self-employed assassin (but a good guy? Yes!) who owns a horse about to ride in the Kentucky Derby; a CIA agent assigned to watch him; an international movie star; and others.
Factor in the assassins, international intrigue, and you have a thriller that keeps you not wanting to put the book down. Read more
Review:The more I read, the more intrigued I became by the process, assumptions, mistakes, in trying to solve a crime. That I became involved in the whole thinking process as events unfolded was a journey to the truth well traveled along with Bosch. Read more
Review:I've never been much of a horror fan, especially of the hack-n-slash genre, but Stephen King's works are generally different because of the plausibility factor. The characters are (generally speaking) normal people involved in something with otherworldly origins.
Founding the story in reality serves to heighten the impact of the supernatural, turning the contrast knob all the way over. In Rose Madder's picture, the reader finds it opens a door in Rosie's heart and mind as much as it does he... Read more
Review:A fine examination of the nature of evil, and why it seems to congregate in certain places and in certain people. This is a brilliant collaboration, weighted and uplifted by the two decad... Read more
Review:When I started reading this book it really caught my attention. The story goes into a very elaborated description of creepy events. I couldn't stop reading because it was very interesting; However, as I got to about 3/4 of the way from finishing this story, the plot unfolded into a wild sequence of unnatural events. It really caught me off guard and the ending was a bit disappointing, not in the sense that I wanted a specific character to win or anything, but how incredibly fictitious it got. I ... Read more
Review:Terrific book. Excellent. Certainly kept my attention. Fast paced, lots of action. Kept me reading to find out what happened. Even has a strong female character. The main characters are well developed and very real. To me a book is a great book if I can "see" it playing in my mind as a movie. This one certainly does that.
At the end of the book Mr. Turpin gives many references that one can look up if they want additional historical information. Mr. Turpin puts a lot of research into his nov... Read more
Review:At the core of HUNTER lies the culmination of years of study and investigation of the criminal justice system and the correctional system in the United States.
At its heart lives an entirely different animal. A classic love story infused with joy and sorrow, trust and doubt, but most of all genuine uncontrolled passion.
Robert Bidinotto, a well known and respected voice in the arena of crime and punishment has taken these elements and blended them into a truly stunning first novel... Read more
