Review:Though Lizzie Bright, like Kira Kira, will be better received by young adults, the writing is far superior to the depressing formula of the latter. There is a lot of poetic prose and interesting character developments in this historical piece about religious life in Maine during the early 20th century. I still wouldn't think that Lizzie Bright is Newbery worthy because it is too heavy themed with death, religious persecution, and the sentencing of the elderly to insane asylums. This would be an ... Review:Another beautifully written novel by Adam Silvera. Heartbreaking, hopeful, beautiful story about love, healing, forgiveness and about those puzzle pieces that sometimes don't fit and it is maybe better to leave it this way. "People are complicated puzzles, always trying to piece together a complete picture, but sometimes we get it wrong and sometimes we’re left unfinished. Sometimes that’s for the best." Griffin learns about death of his best friend and ex boyfriend and he feels that his world c... Read more
Review:Thus book has just about everything you'd want and/or expect in a book for young readers. As a Grandparent, I am particular about the books I would like to see my Granddaughters read. Of course, its now always my choice. I'd thought this one might be a good one for my 9 year old, but now that I've read it myself, I am certain my 12 year old Granddaughter would also enjoy it. Kudos to Jacobson for writing such as wonderful book. Read more

Review:I love, love, love Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits series. TAKE ME ON was no exception. I loved reading about West and Haley. As always, McGarry's characterization skills are amazing, as are her abilities to create compelling relationships. And I'm not just talking about the romances, which are always packed with chemistry. Complex friendships and family dynamics are always a sure find and part of what pulls me so deeply into her books that I don't want to climb back out again.

Review:I have been looking forward to receiving these! As soon as I opened the box I was looking through the cards comparing the book meanings to my interpretations and I just love them. The messages were clear and the pictures were stunning. Even though they are labeled as teen, I see all of these cards having value in my life as well. Read more

Review:A little too graphic for a child under six. Pictures in the book are not animation and the show the parents, digging the grave for the pet. I know it's reality but I would rather save that part until they are a little more mature. And the photos lookl like they are from the 70's. Read more
