H. P. Lovecraft: The Complete Collection
H. P. Lovecraft: The Complete Collection

Review:If you have not read Lovecraft before then it may be hard to get into the language. No one speaks in the manner of the narrators of his stories or books anymore and sometimes, that's a shame. Sometimes, though, the flowery language hinders the stories and makes what should be a scary descent into madness a tedious grind through language. Overall, though, Lovecraft is an important literary figure and pretty much created the super weird dear god I can't fathom what that thing was that went bump... Read more

The Talisman: Volume 1: The Road of Trials
The Talisman: Volume 1: The Road of Trials

Review:A fun story, love the creativity around parallel universes. Definitely became enthralled and eager to turn the pages. Although, I didn't give it the full five stars because I don't think this was one of Stephen kings better pieces. I don't think it was meant to be either, but still a good read. Read more

Berserk, Vol. 11
Berserk, Vol. 11

Review:Wow, I wasn't expecting this kind of great quality. The art style is obviously older, this was written/drawn in 1989! In this volume you'll get acquainted with Guts, The Black Swordsman. Not much is really revealed about him except that he has been battling his inner demons for a while, Oh and I mean that quite literally. Puck is a nice comedic addition to this very melancholic story. Already buying vol 2 and I cant wait to get the other 30+ volumes! Read more

Rosario+Vampire: Season II, Vol. 14
Rosario+Vampire: Season II, Vol. 14

Review:Ever since the first book of the "first season", I've greatly enjoyed the "Rosario Vampire" manga series. The adventures of human (eventually turned ghoul) Tsukune, and his monster friends are both at times hilarious, heart-wrenching, and horrifying, and with each installment, the stakes just continue to increase as we learn more about the mysterious history of vampire Moka, and the rosario that conceals her powers.

In this final installment, Fairy Tale's headquarters has crashed to the E... Read more

No Game No Life, Vol. 1 - light novel

Review:Don't show this to your mother... or father... or girlfriend... or anyone who doesn't understand the refined delicacy that is Echii. This light novel is full of it and uses it well for whole of the comedy. Throw in a plot system that changes the way the world thinks (or at least 20 people), and you got yourself a great story. Can't wait for vol. 2 Read more

Alien Next Door
Alien Next Door

Review:Everyone's favorite Xenomorph, lovingly rendered in a unique and humorous light.

It's not a story, but a PICTURE-BOOK that will guarantee a smile from any fan of the Alien franchise.

Joey Spiotto's talented illustrations convey his humor, knowledge and respect for the subject and H.R. Giger (R.I.P.).

Make sure to look at every page carefully, as there are references to the various other characters and events. Read more
