Review:Good supplement for treatment, but it would be even better with a little less "wordiness" and simpler explanations and more activity sheets/activities. Overall, good to have in your library if you're working with teens. Read more
Review:Mix Percy Jackson with the Hunger Games and a dash of Twilight, and you get the Olympian Challenger. This is a terrific YA Greek Fantasy book that's entertaining for adults too.
The narrator of the audiobook does a nice job, but she pauses between sentences a bit too often which makes her narration choppy at times.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review. Read more
Review:So far this workbook has helped me figure somee things out about myself. My therapist recommended I buy it and it is an organized way of thinking about what stresses you out. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because I think it is meant for younger teens (I am 18) as opposed to late teens. I feel like the actual lessons are a bit elementary, things I already know or can do an easier way. That also may just be me.
Overall I recommend getting this book because even if you know your prob... Read more
Review:Very disappointed. I thought this would be a kid friendly version of the original and it's not. It's incredibly boring and full of useless info. If you want a book to help motivate your teen to be a successful adult, I recommend skipping this and going directly to 7 Habits of Highly Effective Pople. Read more
Review:My parents bought this book for my teenage son and he loves it. He says it's great because he can "skip around to the parts he needs". O'Reilly shares moments from his own life followed by bits of advice that young kids can read quickly. It's far from the cheesy "chicken soup" type self help. There's a great chapter about teachers in which O'Reilly points out that they are just people and some are good and some are not. He talks to kids with respect, and is never condescending. I wish I'd had it... Read more
Review:This is an excellent book to teach teens with. If they do not take the time to read it, then the adult can read it and teach them on a teen level. The only part I had any objection to was on one page there is a quote by our President Obama. Which is a good quote. Then a couple of pages past this quote was a piece about Donald Trump that was more negative. I realize the copyright was 2009, but it sounded a little political to me. Read more
Review:Mixture of anecdote and pointed critique, Baldwin exposes a reality that many ignore, and many others suffer every day. True now as ever, those who oppress will only be free when they release their victims of oppression. Read more
Review:This book is filled with incredible illustration's. My 12 y/o asked for a 'how to draw dragon's' book for Christmas. I was hoping the step by steps would be a little simpler, but if this book doesn't inspire her to draw dragon's I'm not sure that there is one out there that will. Should be said that (for me) attempting do anything more then doodling on paper has always intimidated me and my prejudice on the lvl of difficulty of this book could just come from that. In fact, best that I return and... Read more
