Learn Anything and Everything (Starting With Shakespeare and Dickens) (Faking Smart Book 1)

Review:If you've been reading memory palace techniques but stop short of trying it out, this is the book to get you started.

It got me building my own palace and I'm using it right now. With all skills, it takes practice and it does feel clumsy at first to map things into the palace. I'm still getting the hang of it.

A couple of possible Improvements will make it 5 stars for me
1) Some of the examples are too americanized and hard to imagine. Localizing it or using more global/famous e... Read more

Don'ts For Husbands
Don'ts For Husbands

Review:These are tiny, adorable little books with some really great tips. Some of the information/advice is dated but that's okay. I ordered the Don't For Wives as well. I think it is good to get back to the basics and I think that is what this book reminds us to do. Read more

How Quiet People Can Thrive in an Extrovert World
How Quiet People Can Thrive in an Extrovert World

Review:This is an outstanding book for validating introverts. I've searched for years looking for answers concerning issues I've had. This book wraps things up in a very nice package for explaining how and why. I am disappointed at the title as many others seem to be in these reviews. In other words - Where's the advantage? I understand why I do things now and I can work better with my extrovert co-workers, and understand they're side. Before it seemed more of a shot from the hip and no thought ot... Read more

This book delineates the difference between defense and a boundary, and best of all, gives practical scenarios and examples of what bad boundaries, look like in action, and how an unhappy situation might play out if good boundaries were used instead.

I only had a few ... Read more

Why Your Twenties Matter--And How to Make the Most of Them Now
Why Your Twenties Matter--And How to Make the Most of Them Now

Review:I learned about this book after watching Meg Jay's 10 minute TED talk, i wasn't convinced then but i was curious and wanted to hear her out on the topic. Reading this book at twenty six was a huge wake up call. Even with the reference to some pretty technical psychology and medical references-- which I thought would bore me at first-- I was hooked. Meg Jay thoroughly elaborates on her thesis in each chapter regarding career, love, and even aging using relatable examples, bringing up real fears a... Read more
