Relationships
Review:This book is incredible "on" target. It is so insightful and helpful. The author has a way of conveying such specifically accurate realistic applications for people that have lost themselves to an inner "nice guy"- one of the best books I have ever read. Read more
Review:Cute book. I have been following Liz's work for a while and bought this as a present for a friend who just had a baby as a keepsake. She loved it. My only complaint is that the book was slightly dirty when I received it. I was able to clean most of it off, but there are some lines noticeable under light, which makes it look used. The content of the book is lovely, I just wish they had covered it in plastic as the cover is the type that could potentially get dirty. Read more
Review:I've read a few of these over the years and this one has the most direct, practical knowledge I think I've read. It doesn't try to build any illusion, but maybe that's the point. It's helped me understand my wife and myself very much. Read more
Review:This book is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the psychology of relationships- and who would like to improve their relationships with not only their significant other, but their family and friends as well.
I was in a really rough patch in a relationship when I bought this book, and the knowledge that I learned from "Hold Me Tight" helped me to realize that both of our actions were in fact pleas for love and affection. It took six months of constant work from that point on, but m... Read more
Review:When I first read this book I thought, "How have I been attempting to engage in relationship without this?" Suffice to say: this is one of the best relationship books I've read. It's full of info you wish someone would have taught you in your teens. But no matter when you read it, it's going to be a game-changer. Read more
Review:I rated it 5 stars because the real message turned out to be what all of us needs to learn: accept and love who you are, and the rest will fall into place. Loving who you are will allow others to see your worth. Read more
Review:its cool.. in the world of advice that inspires oversensitivity and deep self-compassion, the authors of this book remind us to stay practical, realistic and levelheaded... while I didnt agree with a few things in the book, I found some other ideas to be very true and excellent reminders of daily realities... its definitely well-written and very practical... read it if you got time.. Review:I loved this book!! I am a fan of Ms James' historical romances but I have to say this is my favorite book of hers. Following a diagnosis of breast cancer and subsequent treatments, she packs up her family for a year of living in Paris, France.
There is humor in her writing as she has us follow along on the escapades of her precocious ten year old daughter and her fourteen year old son. They alternately love and hate their year in Paris. Eloisa spends time sampling many restaurants, c... Read more
Review:I started reading Morrie: In his own words. I was disappointed in the book because I felt that there was too much repetition. I tried returning the book since I really did not initially accept it because the price was not initially given. I felt that the book was overpriced and did not continue reading it. I was unsuccessful in returning the book because my password was changed without my permission. Read more
Review:As a widower for ten years, this book is the best yet on the grief and grieving process. Good practical information. Not an academic type of publication. I have read many such books since my spouse died.
Another excellent book is C.S. Lewis' "A Grief Observed". Read more
