Review:Shawn Achor is a brilliant guy. His research and work hold both an insightful and refreshing view of the world. I'm a fairly optomistic and hopeful person. His book provided me with an even greater roadmap to a more productive and positive way of life, both at home and in the workplace. Shawn's teachings have inspired me to work on being a "positive genius". There has already been some very real differences in my family life. I'd recommend this book to everyone. It can only improve your life. M... Read more
Review:Required reading for a course in Death and Dying that I had to take. Great expose of the funeral home industry and how they prey upon grieving families emotions to sell their wares. Excellent book which will hold your interest with facts and humor. Read more
Review:Zig Ziglar lives on in his wonderful guide to life..."See You at the Top"...I had the good fortune to take the Zig Ziglar "I Can" course in 1985, and this book was used throughout the course. It's not just a self-help book, but a guide to a new way of thinking and living! I am truly a better person, look at things more positively, and take life one day at a time. I have given this book to friends and associates many times. A must read you will re-read over and over again!! Read more
Review:Zig Ziglar's book is engaging, fun and filled with stories. Either he is a great story teller or he just have a life filled with experience. In his book, he is always able to cite from his experience to backup the points that he wants to bring across to us. He has introduced many new ideas. Most other books that I have read is filled with common sense but this is not. Read more
Review:Not at all what I expected. A relatively quick and engaging read with numerous useful insights on dealing with the non-positive side of our life. " In the failure condition, the optimists were far more likely to write off failure as inevitable. Framing an event as an inescapable failure makes it easier to digest." Should be more than a little for most everyone to take away from this book. One of the few of this genre worth shelving for a reread. Read more
Review:This is an interesting read, I'm actually reading through it for one of my uni classes and I'm not disappointed at all about paying for this book. This should be required reading for kids growing up, civility is not a common as you would hope unfortunately. Some of the ideas outlined in this book seem like common knowledge, but I would recommend it none the less. Read more
Review:Very well written and insightful especially for women starting out. As women, we have so many irons in the fire along with hopes and dreams for ourselves. Carrie narrates you through the process of turning your dreams into a goals. With additional to-do's throughout the book to help make the process stick - I would give her 10 starts if I could, wait I technically just did! "Eye opening for those who are brave enough to actually open their eyes." - traci-ism. I started an idea a year and a half ... Read more
Review:Started reading and couldn't put it down. Read it on my kindle. 12 hours and 14 pages of notes later, I started back through it again. Procrastination has buried many of souls, but this book renews your spirit and demands that you get out and make a difference. I will be buying and handing out this book out to several of my current and future clients and friends. Read more
Review:As a former NCAA division 1 tennis coach, I particularly appreciate the George Boiardi story. Here is a guy who set the example each day for selflessness, work ethic, and serving others. Readers beware that after learning about George and the life he led, it will be high time to put the excuses away forever.
A great book with actionable items for becoming a better teammate and creating a high performance culture. Read more
Review:The most valuable thing I got was the idea that objections are just lack of trust, not actual objections. It's almost like he's an old wise man who understands life, because he's been through it all and can speak wisdom to you that would have took you a life time understand. Basically, you're getting the wisdom of an all time great salesman downloaded into your brain, with out having to work 30 years to attain it. Most of the book flows really well and is exciting to read. A few chapters are kin... Read more
