Review:This is a must-read! McMann succeeds to reach out and grab the reader in the first sentence. This tale is described as "The Hunger Games meets Harry Potter" but I'd say its so original it breaks apart from its two "parents." Intriguing and hooking! Nice work, Lisa. Read more
Review:My 18 month old daughter loves this book. Unfortunately, we have to keep it out of her reach on the bookshelf because she has torn out some of the moving flaps. She ultimately destroyed the first copy, but she loved it so much, I bought her a second one. She lovese the moving pieces and the ability to feel the different textures. Read more
Review:I bought this book for my friend’s daughter’s 2nd birthday. My friend shared her daughter loooooves this book and they read it regularly. She even sent me a video of her daughter saying her favorite book is “baaaaaaaaad seeeeeed.” It was amazing.
About the book, it’s a short and sweet story abt a “bad seed” who turns out to be not that bad after all. The story is told from the perspective of the seed, and doesn’t really explain why he decides he doesn’t want to be bad anymore, but is stil... Read more
Review:Sunshine State book. We are getting a head start for next school year and the third grade boy I am reading with is enjoying the plot and characters so far. The chapters are short do he is feeling accomplished as he moves along to chapter five early in the book. He has remained engaged, but occasionally becomes discouraged by the amount of text on each page. Read more

Review:I usually don't write reviews, but this book warrants that I do. I thought this book was great. It is written at a level any young child can understand. To me, the main message to the reader is you are loved and cared for no matter which house you are living. The illustrations are wonderful. I recommend this book to parents/grandparents for children dealing with divorce. My grandchildren are 8 and 4 and this book is a great help to them in understanding their situation. Read more
Review:My husband and I loved these books growing up, and it's really nice to share them with our 3.5 year old. This collection is a lovely volume, with full-sized pictures. My preschooler really likes good stories with a real plot, and its funny watching him try to figure out just who Miss Viola Swamp is. It's really nice that the plot is a little vague -- it gives my son something to try to figure out. He pulls this off the shelf and asks for it often! Read more
Review:The message is overwhelmingly negative until the last few pages. I have a 3.5 year old who loves montessori school and has never feared that he couldn't do something much less that he should give up so easily without asking for help. Mr. Fish on the hand gives up often and talks negatively about himself in the process. Heaven forbid he ask a teacher for help to find the right classroom. I just didn't feel that this book was right for my family. Read more
Review:Great story. A boy on our street is being treated badly by the other boys in the street so I wanted a way to help my son (7) understand how it feels. I had talked to him abt not bullying or leaving kids out, but it didn't seem to really mean anything. The story helped with that :) Read more
