Review:I did not like this character at all. Sheila came across as the type of kid whose negativity gets under your skin and will be a negative adult...pretty different from other characters created by Judy Blume. I couldn't finish the book. Read more
Review:For my 7 year old grandson for Christmas. He is in 2nd grade and really enjoying the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, so I thought I would see if he likes another author. Our children read all the Judy Blume books when they were growing up, I just don't remember this one. Read more
Review:I am a huge advocate of encouraging kids (especially girls) to love the akin they are in and be who they want to be not who someone else says they should be. Real friends will be there in good and bad times and love you for you. Now that I have my own daughter, my advocacy has increased tenfold. Love the book and the message it sends. Artwork is beautiful as well. Read more
Review:My seven year old daughter says that this is one of the best audio books she's ever listened to. She loved everything about the magic and the ending. She can't wait for the next one to come out! I think this will be a book that we listen to and read again. I especially like that my daughter caught on to the idea of the importance of practicing things you want to be good at through the encouragement to practice magic tricks. Nice tie in to real life right there. :) Read more

Review:Ghost, the main character's chosen nickname, is the first of an anticipated series of books that will set an elite middle school track team on a trajectory toward qualifying for the Junior Olympics. It was a 2016 National Book Award Finalist for Young People's Literature. Ghost takes you inside the head of a middle school boy with a past in danger of getting expelled from school unless he can control his temper, find the courage to tell the truth and share his secrets with his team mates. Review:I got an eGalley of this book to review from NetGalley. This is the first book in the five book Magisterium series. The second book will be titled The Copper Gauntlet and is scheduled to release some time in 2015. I actually liked this book quite a bit, it is an action packed middle grade fantasy full of wonderful magic. It does however have many many parallels to the Harry Potter series.
Callum has always known his parents were mages. Callum’s dad however, hates and fears magic and ... Read more
