Ok - we basically start off where we left our darlings in Forsaken ....
Chad made sure all the bad guys were in jail, and he had this idea of 'The Circle' - a group of twelve people world-wide, who each own their own piece of information about the cylinder.
Should that all word out the way Chad planned it, it would make Amy and everybody connected to him safe.
And it looks like it's working - but ther... Read more
Review:I love Kristan Higgins' books. She always has a good story to tell. There were at least three different stories of people with problems--problems not that uncommon. All three of them made me think about what I would do, should I be faced with the same problem. The dialogue is witty and funny and I cried more than once. There were supporting stories worth listening to as well, all woven together beautifully. I really loved the book! Read more

Review:Highly recommended by a member of our book club, I read the 4 books in this series. I was curious about life in a parallel culture, but unprepared for the darkness of the story. It took an effort to finish this last volume, and I can't say that I feel satisfied, just depressed by the events and relationships the author describes. Read more
Review:This story envelopes your sense of romance, the challenges of 'true' love, the 'adventure' of being a 'responsible' parent, and the human spirit when all goes so terribly wrong. What is it that makes a parent responsible? What is it that makes this story so wonderfully Italian? Though this story's theme and narrative is 'universal,' for me its essence is Italian. I've never lived in Japan, but I studied and lived in Italy, and I've been fortunate to travel throughout Italy on many occasions, and... Read more
Review:It is obvious from the beginning that Eden/Kate is running for her life and the life of her young son, Micah/Jack. Ms. Hunter does wonderful conveying the terrified and hopelessness that Eden finds herself in when she arrives reluctantly at Summer Harbor. It is only as the story unfolds that we find out the complete story. I enjoyed piecing the bits Eden/Kate let others know. I must admit that there are twists that I did not see coming until it was revealed.
I’m hoping that Beau is just t... Read more
Review:I have read and loved other books by Dave Eggers (i.e., What Is the What and Hologram for the King) and was anticipating a good, engaging read. Instead I found a saga of unappealing characters and creepy circumstances that I didn't want inside my head! (Lots of references to s***, for example: Carl's unruly bowels; the guy who liked to smell it on his finger; emptying out the waste from the RV...) I can sort of understand the larger theme(s) and was vaguely curious as to how it would end, and I... Read more
Review:I loved this book. It was like being with friends and living through the drama we might all bump into along the way. I thought the dialogue was spot on and I personally loved how I got to know all of the ladies of the book club and loved them faults and all.
Mary Alice Monroe grabbed my heart once again. Time Is a River led me to this read, and now I'm shopping for my next Mary Alice Monroe read. I love her brand of women's fiction!

Review:I loved the characters and the setting so much - it made things so interesting. I enjoyed that it was more character driven than plot driven. These characters were a mess all the way around, and it was interesting to see how they grew, and changed throughout the book. There was not enough actual romance for me at all - but that is pretty true to a re-telling of an Austen novel. It was overall a pretty light, easy read. I was satisfied by the end. Read more
Review:It was a wonderful book of young women from foreign countries living here in New York coming of age. Was full of laughter and love and all customers versus new customs new opportunities. I would highly recommend this book to anyone it definitely kept my interest and I love the ending. Read more
