Review:Wow. Alice Ward had written another story that will suck you in and won't let go. Atlee is a young lawyer, wanting to save the world. Wyatt is the new CEO of his family's multi million dollar company, that produces environmentally unsafe products. Do you see where I am going with this?
That's right, Atlee is out to prove that Wyatt should change his company, if only she knew that it was his mission too.
And the tears will flow

Review:A perfect little Christmas story from Lisa Wingate! A great story in this season of Miracles set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When a military widow seeks to run from the sadness of loss, she instead finds a reason to return to living. Read more
Review:I must admit, I almost returned this book about 1/4 of the way in because it seemed to be headed down a "preachy" path. And yes, there is a spiritual/religious undercurrent to this story of a woman who must return to the place of her youth to try to close a real estate deal - to get rid of it.
Heather Hampton is a Seattle architect whose career has become her life. When a broker deal comes up offering to buy the Texas land where she spent her childhood, still owned by her family, she can'... Read more
Review:Whoa. This book sure got me in the feels. The story line is so amazing. The characters are priceless. I am broken by people who are bullied or marginalized or treated unfairly. I loved Poppy and her family in this book. I loved how they loved each other unconditionally. The book was painful but hopeful, sad but joyful. This author is brilliant. God bless her and her precious child and all the people who are "different", but just want to be free to be themselves. They are Gods precious people to... Read more
Review:Isabel Allende, like any prolific talented writer with a long career, has themes that are very meaningful to her, and she explores them in book after book. Politics, family, generational pride and history, human rights and, of course, passion and love are some of these pertinent topics. IN THE MIDST OF WINTER is another example of the beautiful prose of this remarkable strong woman, activist and writer whose every tome seems to only deepen our respect for her talent and wisdom.

Review:I have really enjoyed other C.S. Lewis books so I was excited to read his Sci-Fi Space Trilogy. I loved the 1st book, it had great story, good charter development and wonderful description of the places. All that is missing from the 3rd book, so while I hate to say it .... I didn't enjoy this book.
I noticed that many people were disappointed that the main charter of the series Ransom plays such a minor role in this book. I can forgive the fact that he devotes much of the book to a new... Read more
Review:C. S. Lewis once said, "The value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity." Nowhere is this more true than in his own retelling of the myth of Cupid and Psyche as he intentionally recasts the myth in a way that gives it logical coherence and subtly (and sometimes not-so-subtly) emphasizes a variety of philosophical and theological points.
I think that explaining and analyzing the signific... Read more
Review:I always love reading C. S. Lewis, but his books are never easily read in a short amount of time. This little book allows you to latch onto a simple thought for one day - and ponder it. Great daily reading. Read more
Review:I didn't enjoy the book enough to finish it. The story seemed to drag on without really catching my interest. My 10 year old granddaughter ask if she could stop reading it because it was boring. I told her yes and we would find another book that would interest her more. Read more
Review:How Pam Muñoz Ryan does what she does is magical, as is this book. Three World War Two-era young people are tied together by the musical magic of an enchanted harmonica that is passed among them as, each time, a gift of love and kindness. With a magical twist and a solid historical fiction timeline, this unique tale is a must-read. Boys and girls will equally see something to connect with as they learn important lessons about American history, a world at war, and the healing majesty of music. Read more
