How The Great Gatsby Came to Be and Why It Endures
How The Great Gatsby Came to Be and Why It Endures

Review:There was a moment in this book where I actually shouted "Yes!" out loud.

The year I turned 13, I became the owner of a scruffy paperback copy of "The Great Gatsby. "I fell in love the first time I read through it, then proceeded to read it another thirty times. Read every Fitzgerald novel I could find, every biography, every short story. I carried Gatsby around with me all that year, balanced on top of my pile of school books as I went from class to class. Though we studied it for Honors... Read more

The Beautiful and Damned (AmazonClassics Edition)

Review:A reader of Fitzgerald will not be surprised of the themes or characters they find in this book. Here is a writer who worked out the demons of his own life, on the page, for all of us to watch. He showed us the bright light of the beautiful people that draws us close like moths at night, and the inevitable shabbiness and death of the real light of next morning.

Here, as begun in "This Side of..." and ended in "Tender is..." is Fitzgerald's complicated struggle with art and love and fame... Read more

A Raisin in the Sun
A Raisin in the Sun

Review:As part of my Directing class in school, I've had to some plays in preparation for the scene work that's to come later in the semester. One of those plays was Lorraine Hansberry's classic A Raisin in the Sun.

First, I want to talk about the positives. A Raisin in the Sun truly is a moving play. It's honestly one of the best examples of how good American theatre can be. It's expertly paced, each act ending with a crescendo that begs the audience to come back after the intermission. The cha... Read more

Sword Art Online, Vol. 2: Aincrad

Review:I didn’t care much for the SAO anime. I was a little apprehensive about buying this book. It was a really light read, as it only took me a few hours to finish it. I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. Their were a couple of minor differences from the book and the episodes that adapt this book. I believe that at least half of the anime came from this book, and the other half came from short stories.
The quality of writing was good. I thought the translation was well done. The only ... Read more

A litRPG Adventure (The Viridian Gate Archives Book 2)
A litRPG Adventure (The Viridian Gate Archives Book 2)

Review:I loved the book and knew it deserves all the stars I could give it. I think it's a tad bit draconian to compel people to write reviews if they want to award stars but whatever. The author is great and well received, and the book is compelling, hard to put down, and the shear number of directions that the story line can follow, is astounding. Read more

Once Upon A Coffee (Meet Cute Romance Book 4)

Review:A stand alone read with a HEA. This story was short and sweet. I liked it and found it entertaining and leaves you with a smile on your face!! The characters were likable and you are rooting for them.

The heroine makes a blind date with an online guy. He didn't post a picture so she does not know what he looks like but he is a grad student and they seem to hit it off chatting. They agree to meet at a local coffee house, she will be carrying a book with a flower - Meg Ryan in You've Go... Read more
