The Dead Don't Dance (Awakening Book 1)
The Dead Don't Dance (Awakening Book 1)

Review:I really enjoyed this novel of love, hope and determination. It sort of reminded me of something Nicholas Sparks would write. Who is another author I enjoy when I want a simple wholesome book to read. I ordered two more books and plan on reading all of the Martin books if there anything like this one. Read more

Thunder and Rain: A Novel

Review:I have to say it was a two year wait... a very long two years... I don't want to say it was worth it as I don't want the author to think he can wait two years for the next book - but IT WAS!!!!!

Water from My Heart: A Novel

Review:I loved the main person in this book. He did a lof bad things, but all along you knew he was a good guy. I really enjoyed reading about his trials and how he turned his life around into being a caring person. Read more

Wrapped in Rain
Wrapped in Rain

Review:I like the way he brings his characters to life. I find myself grieving for some of them. This is the second book I have read by him. I have recommended them to others and they have liked the books themselves. Read more

The Survival of Thomas Ford
The Survival of Thomas Ford

Review:Wow. This book took you on twists and turns and when I wanted to throw it away it grabbed me again. Now the language is terrible, I dislike swearing in a book and this one had too much of it. The story line was engrossing, though. The complete evil of some people is really disturbing especially since the author never really gave a 'good' reason for it, not that there ever is. I was glad to be done with it because you really wanted the good guys to at least survive! Read more

The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Korean Edition)
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Korean Edition)

Review:I read THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING by Kundera after I saw the film with Daniel Day-Lewis. I was unimpressed with the book although I recently bought the Criterion DVD of the film mainly because I am a very big DDL fan.
I have an occupational tee-shirt that says "Sociologists Get Good Marx" which we do if we study at the "right" university. Most writers don't get good Marx. Even most economists have only ever read Das Kapital. What was practiced in Eastern Europe was not Marxism but Le... Read more

Chosen (The Warrior Chronicles Book 1)
Chosen (The Warrior Chronicles Book 1)

Review:K.F. Breene knocked it out of the ball park with "Chosen", the new Warrior Chronicles. I loved both the main characters, Shanti and the Captain, Cayan. The complexity of the story unraveled at just the right pace and was really well done. The kick butt heroine added to the humor and action, made it hard to put the book down. I completed it in one day, reading part of it when I downloaded it in the afternoon and being drawn back to it in the evening to complete. The heroine was burden with s... Read more

Curse of the Chosen (The Endarian Prophecy Book 3)
Curse of the Chosen (The Endarian Prophecy Book 3)

Review:Phillips is clearly a talented descriptive writer. He paints vivid pictures of the world and the actions his characters are taking. In a battle scene, he rivals some of the best fantasy and sci-fi writers out there. Unfortunately, his characters are simple and poorly developed and the story just isn't terribly compelling. The Chosen: A Novel
The Chosen: A Novel

Review:This book was pretty good. I thought the beginning was the best part of the whole story. I am not Jewish, so I did not understand all the terminology. I think Jewish people would be able to understand and connect better to it. But it did send out good messages and themes. Although at many points I found myself forcing myself to go back to reading it, I was assigned to read it for Honors English. It was boring at some parts, to the point where once or twice I awoke to find that I had f... Read more
