Iron Gold: A Red Rising Novel (Red Rising Series)
Iron Gold: A Red Rising Novel (Red Rising Series)

Review:This book was a disappointment. I enjoyed the first three quite a bit. The protagonist's story was compelling and the author is talented. But this one changes Darrow's first-person narrative to multiple points of view from new characters that should not have been introduced so late in the series. It's still good writing, but the author should have started a new series or spin-off rather than leading us to believe this fourth installment would be similar to the first three. I am reluctant to... Read more

A Novel (Winternight Trilogy) - The Bear and the Nightingale
A Novel (Winternight Trilogy) - The Bear and the Nightingale

Review:I’m not a huge fan of fairytale retellings so this one was a gamble for me. Vasya was a relatable main character but by the end I found myself so distant from the story I didn’t care like I wanted too. Over all I enjoyed the story and finished it rather quickly but I don’t think I’ll pick up the sequel. The world is beautifully written but I hate the cold so I never would actually want to visit. Maybe I’d have enjoyed it more in spring... Read more

Red Storm Rising: A Suspense Thriller
Red Storm Rising: A Suspense Thriller

Review:Although I love the Jack Ryan series from Clancy, this is probably the weakest novel in my opinion. It moves well and the story is at least plausible, like all his spy thrillers but its seems bogged down in political machinations and personal issues more than some of his other novels. Still worth the read, and a great component to Jack Ryan as a character, but its one that i'm always tempted to skip, when i'm reading the series again. Read more

A New Day Rising (Red River of the North #2)
A New Day Rising (Red River of the North #2)

Review:I read the whole series and enjoyed it very much. It tells of the hardships endured by our early settlers but with their hard work and a strong faith in God,brought with them from the old country, they overcame all challenges. I wonder how many could do it these days? Read more

Back to War (Corps Justice Book 1)
Back to War (Corps Justice Book 1)

Review:This book is entertaining and nostalgic for me, bringing back memories of my military service. Clearly the author has a great deal of first hand knowledge of the Marine Corps. The book is not written on an advanced reading level so it can be enjoyed by people who don't read a lot and/or don't want to spend time researching vocabulary (this is not a knock on the book). As such, it won't challenge many readers intellectually. Character development is well done. And the plot is interesting and... Read more

Fifty Shades Darker / Fifty Shades Freed - Fifty Shades Duo
Fifty Shades Darker / Fifty Shades Freed - Fifty Shades Duo

Review:This was one of the most beautiful love stories I have read in a long time. The depth of emotion I felt with this story was so amazing. It was really well written and kept me enraptured until the end. I then retread it all again all in one week. Those who rubbish the story and call it just women's porn obviously haven,t read it. I would totally recommend it as an adult read for anyone who loves a love story . Don,t forget you must start with fifty shades of grey. Which is the first book because... Read more
