Review:This is my favorite quilt book by Eleanor Burns. Whenever I make this quilt for a gift, I also give the book. This way, everyone knows the story and the meaning of each block. What a piece of history. Thank you, Eleanor Burns for this wonderful gift. Read more
Review:Lovely book for coloring for the person who loves to color but has no ability to draw. The cover is a great indication of the type of coloring you'll do. You can make very lovely flowers to enjoy without a great commitment of time. Beautiful flowers. Read more
Review:It IS expensive, but a great resource for anyone who is planning on making several. I've made a handful as presents for friends, and they are TRULY touched by this kind of thoughtful (and surprisingly easy to make) gift. Read more
Review:Purchased this for an expecting friend. Love how it starts from the beginning of the couples relationship to the forming of the family and then going off into baby's first and second year. The organization of the book is great and it is super easy to fill out and create memories. I also like the fact that it is for mom AND dad not just mom to be. I do wish there was a little more on the background of couple, that way baby can read later on about their paren'ts story as well. Read more
Review:This book has so much information for the advanced beginner seamstress! I am past the point of learning how to find grainlines, etc. but not ready to tackle more advanced dresses without a little backup. The pattern to make the dresses shown is included, very helpful! Tracing off patterns isn't a big deal anymore, and I really appreciate not needing to go find a pattern that looks like the one pictured, it is right there. The sizes included cover a wide range, along with some basic advice on pa... Read more
Review:This book has the most beautiful pictures to color. Lots of little details -- scales, melted wax, craters on an image of the moon. This is my favorite coloring book, and I'll probably grab another once I'm done with the first. Read more
Review:Very easy to read and excellent instructions! Due to time limitations, I can't sit down and devour a book anymore. This book breaks everything up into nice easy sections to read so you feel like not only are you learning something, but you retain it as well. I only wish it had color photo's, but that's alright...there are other books out there that have photo's that I can look at. I am new to soapmaking and found this to be a terrific reference and well worth it to purchase. Read more
Review:I love this book. Having used several "how to" art books in the classroom, this little book gives more helpful ideas and thought than any I have ever seen. I can't wait to start using it as a motivator for my summer school art class. Wonderful gift to the art educator from the creative mind of my sister-in-law! Read more
Review:Dawkins fans like me will be horrified by this book. Roughly speaking , it could be sub-titled 'Why Science isn't boring' but, unlike the thrilling romp of 'The Selfish Gene' or the interest of 'The Blind Watchmaker', here Dawkins bangs wearily on, often on his own hobby horses or things he evidently knows little about.
He hectors us about watching the X-Files, he has a predictable go at Stephan Jay Gould, he repeats earlier work almost verbatim. His previous books demonstrated brilliantl... Read more
Review:Too hard for kids to follow the directions. Myself and my 7 & 9 year old have been nothing but frustrated for two days trying to figure out the directions. There are pictures, but of the finished step, not how to do the step.....which when you are looking at a small picture it is no help. Read more
