Review:Awesome story, although it does get a bit repetitive. For those wondering whether or not to get the other two volumes as well, lets just say I was happy enough with the ending to volume one. There were a few loose ends, but I hear v. 2 & 3 get REALLY repetitive. Read more
Review:Basically a year one redux! This book picks up with one of Batman's first outings, a failure. While he has been trained by the best, he is very much a green super hero.
Lots of things in the mythology have been changed. Alferd is no longer a butler, but was hired by Thomas Wayne as head of security just prior to he and his wife's death. In present time Oswald Cobbelpot (the penguin) is Mayor and is implicated in the Deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Martha Wayne comes from the Arkham fam... Read more
Review:Buyer Beware,
Even though you are purchasing the amazing story of "The Man Who Laughs" a wonderful rendition of Batman's first encounter with his arch-nemisis, you will also buy an additional 65 pages worth of filler material in a story titled "Made of Wood", a story with absolutely no relation to the Joker and centers around Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern.
My main gripe with this publication is that this extra feature is not indicated anywhere on the product itself.

Review:This is the first volume in the Immortal Iron Fist ongoing story line and it is a pretty solid read. It introduces several key elements that come to fruitation in the isssues to come. You are introduced to the concept that there have been many Iron Fist and you are introduced to a handful of them. Fraction is the main writer in this story but he collabrates with Ed Brubaker who is a phenomanal writer and the one behind the current volume of Captain America. If you like Daredevil I would say you ... Read more
Review:Item was ordered as a gift for a collector. When it was received it was bent and this makes the recipient very unhappy with the conditon of the book. Should have been shipped in a box vice an envelope where it was bent out of shape and now has a crease in it that won't flatten out. Read more
Review:doesn't work well on the kindle, the grayscale makes some of the dialog hard to read and you can't turn it landscape. I needed to enlarge every page and drag it around to read. I really liked the series but I'll not get another graphic novel for my kindle paperwhite Read more
Review:I should've read the reviews before buying. This is bad. Please don't buy this or All-star Batman and Robin. Maybe if sales start slipping on these reprints, Frank Miller will dig his head out of his ass. Read more
Review:Frank, there was just no need. Even if there were, why would you go and spoil the original Dark Knight Returns, one of the most influential comic stories of all time, with a follow-up composed of complete drek? I'm sure the motivation was pure money and I'm sorry that you now have mine. Read more
Review:This is the most disappointing, and infuriating at times, comic I have read in YEARS. The only saving grace is Jim Lee's artwork, which is quite good. Not "Batman: Hush" good, but still exemplary (especially his rendering of Vicky Vale - WOW). It's apparent in this work that Frank Miller has completely moved on from Batman creatively, mentally, and emotionally. Because this is NOT a Batman story. It's Sin City with people that dress up like bats. It's angry in a loud, obnoxious way - an ab... Read more
Review:Wow, I wasn't expecting this kind of great quality. The art style is obviously older, this was written/drawn in 1989! In this volume you'll get acquainted with Guts, The Black Swordsman. Not much is really revealed about him except that he has been battling his inner demons for a while, Oh and I mean that quite literally. Puck is a nice comedic addition to this very melancholic story. Already buying vol 2 and I cant wait to get the other 30+ volumes! Read more
