Review:Had a lot of aha's like I'm pretty sure anyone would. It helps you understand the confusion the in flux of tech gave you against your will and gives ways to combat them. A toddler could apply this stuff. Read more

Review:This book contains 3 short Harry Bosch stories. One story is written when Harry is working on cold cases but reaches back to when he first started in law enforcement as a street cop. I enjoyed all 3 stories, even though they are really short and am anxiously awaiting the next Harry Bosch book. I love this character! Read more
Review:I almost fell for the negative reviews and passed on this one. What a mistake it would have been. After having read all other published works it was just right as a fill in before the release The Drop. Read more
Review:Any book that makes me cry while riding on the NYC subway deserves the description of touching.
In a few short pages, the author sets up a story of three women in transition. Family dynamics, career challenges, and geographical choices all play a role. It is well written and satisfying.
The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are:
- it is too short
- I wanted a little more depth on the women's relationships with their husbands
- I wanted a little more consistency about the ... Read more
Review:Was disappointed on how short this installment of the series is. Also seems disconnected from the first chapter plot wise. Seems almost like a writing exercise than a genuine chapter. Well, there are 11 (?) more chapters to go, hope it gets better, Scalzi's a good writer most of the time.

Review:This short Agatha Raisin mystery was a fun read for the holidays in true Agatha style. I like that she never changes making you say to yourself, "Oh, Agatha!" She's still a charmer and showed some of her often times hidden benevolent side which was nice for Christmas time. An enjoyable read. Read more
Review:I have told all my friends about M.C. Beaton the Agatha Raisin stories and of course Hamish McBeath. Thank you again for your great stories. Once I start a book I read it till the end. They are never dull and capture the reader from the beginning. Read more
Review:I have been a fan of Bourdain from his shows and love the way he narrates. The passion he has, not just for the food, but for the culture/places that the food comes from. His views are always insightful and i actually started cooking when i was 32, inspired by his shows. Never cooked in my life before that. Read more
Review:I Enjoyed the book, the reading flowed. Most of the concepts and sub-stories were very interesting and thought provoking.
However, the aliens were much too naive, and quite unbelievable as characters... Same things happening over and over and never learning - but maybe it strikes me because I AM human...
I would recommend it to my Sci-Fi/Skeptic friends who would probably enjoy it as well.
All in all a very pessimistic and optimistic story at the same time. Read more
