Review:Love this workbook! Covers a lot of sight words needed for kindergarten to second grade. My daughter loves it as well.
The best thing you can do is to scan/copy and print the pages so you can use them multiple times. My child learns by doing and she has to "do" a few times before it sticks with her. By copying and printing the pages she can go through the worksheets several times or however much she needs.
This is a great workbook for helping learn sight words. Won't be disappointe... Read more
Review:I am using this book to homeschool my kindergartener. When we started she had no reading experience other than knowing what sound each letter makes. This book is amazing. It is such an easy and simple approach, yet it does the job wonderfully. The child learns to read without being bogged down with rules; only a few rules are mentioned. This book is great for kids who still have trouble with handwriting because it is almost entirely oral. I only gave 4 stars simply because I disagree with a fe... Read more
Review:I used this book to help study for the MSAT (Calif. teacher's test). This book, along with "What Your 6th Grader Needs To Know" taught me, in bare-bones terms, the necessary points of each subject. The Literature/Language Arts section is worth the price of the book in itself, because it gave a synopsis of some of the greats of literature (most of which I was never required to read as a youngster). That said, I passed the MSAT and am now going on to be an elementary teacher. I would recommend thi... Read more
Review:I love the cards, no complaints about the design or quality of the paper. They are good flashcards, but in my 2012 version (bought in November 2012) someone was not paying attention. The answer to the question about who is the the current speaker of the House was: Nancy Pelosi. (good answer until 2010, but correct answer in 2012: John Boehner).
So, overall great, only three stars because of this mistake. Otherwise, my children (7 and 9) have fun quizzing me with these cards to prepare me ... Read more
Review:We are using this to prevent summer slide. I ask my daughter to do two pages a day and offer a reward (we use a marble jar) for completing additional pages. I also focus more on doing it independently than making sure it is correct. She often does more than two pages voluntarily and the directions/activities are simple enough that she can work independently (for the most part). Read more
Review:This book is great for the early learner. My Daughter has Down syndrome and she loves something that has bright colors. This book keeps her interest and she is practicing her words everyday. I purchased this book and 100 words Kids need to know by 1st grade, at the same time. They are thin books, not too much detail, but I like that on the back cover and the inside cover, they printed the entire 100 word list. Read more
Review:Enthralled the entire time - not only is the innovation and science in spite of his (seemingly) limited opportunity fascinating, but the other stories- about his family, his culture, and his history- are funny, charming, and highly entertaining. Read more

Review:This is a book about getting more from the college experience.
Suggestions such as write for the school newspaper, volunteer, attend political rallies, advice on summer employment (he advocates getting a job in the field you are interested in working as career), etc.
There are some study tips covered as well.
The author has another book called, "How to Become a Straight A Student" that is very good at discussing ways to improve your grades and live a balanced life too. Read more
Review:Unlike my law school classmates, I did not read this prior to law school. I'm glad I did not. I was already terrorized by the rumors. Had I read this, I might very well have "tucked tail and ran." It is very accurate. Nevertheless, I encourage future law students to read so that they'll have no illusions. Along these lines, just know that the first year comes to an end -- it too shall pass. Few achievements in my life make me feel as confident as having made it through the 1st year of law schoo...
