The Silent Songbird
The Silent Songbird

Review:Melanie Dickerson has done it again! I was captivated by this newest title from the first page to the last. Her retelling of classic fairy tales crates the backdrop for delightful new stories. I love not knowing which tale her stories are based on and then figuring it out as I read. This newest tale takes a privileged yet essentially imprisoned maiden on a journey to discover who she really is and who she wants to become.

The heroine, Evangeline, is the cousin of the king and an illegitim... Read more

The Golden Braid
The Golden Braid

Review:This book needed a good editor. Poor knight falls off his horse after his horse is spooked and the saddle broke and slid. Three pages later he's climbing back on the horse with saddle working fine apparently. But he's broken his right arm - wait, several pages later it's his left arm - wait, it's his right arm - no, it's his left arm - hmm, back to right arm. I'm only a third of the way through the book. This has been very distracting. Even comical. Hope both arms turn out okay... Read more

The Iron Knight (The Iron Fey Book 4)
The Iron Knight (The Iron Fey Book 4)

Review:I was absolutely happy when I learned about this book! I loved The Iron Queen and all the books before it, but it was impossible for me to believe that could be the end. And so I found that there was this book, The Iron Knight, and I was ecstatic! I must admit, I was Team Puck throughout most of the series, but then I read the third book and I was Team Ash, and I after reading this book I don't think that'll change a bit. The book is done really well, and I think how Julie Kagawa did Ash's point... Read more

(A Princess Novel) (The Nine Princesses Book 1)

Review:I thought this was an enjoyable book. It lacked a bit in transitions, but other than that I thought it was written well. This is a good book for middle school aged children or as a bad time story for younger kids. I myself read the book in a matter of hours. It was a splendid read; simple and sweet! Read more

Briar Rose: A Novel of the Holocaust (Fairy Tales)

Review:The book, Briar Rose, by Jane Yolan is an excellent book that I would recommend to anyone that can read. The book keeps you interested from the beginning to the end. I was surprised of how good of a book it was. I gained a great love for the book and the main character Becca. Becca is so intrigued by the fairy tale that her grandmother as a child. Fable (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale Book 3)
Fable (An Unfortunate Fairy Tale Book 3)

Review:How much can befall a teenager with a curse?!? It truly is unfortunate that Mina is dealing with such tragedy at every turn, but she seems to grow and learn, and become stronger. I hope that she finds happiness in book 4 that can't be written soon enough if you ask me. Happy reading! Read more
