The Bro Code
The Bro Code

Review:I love the show and in particular Neil Patrick Harris as Barney so when the opputunity came to buy a copy of the Bro Code i jumped at the chance. If taken literally it is infantile and male dominant but that is the way the character is in the show. After reading i felt it funny and well written almost like a constitution for men from the Barney perspective. If your looking for something that will make you smile while reading and possibly quoting later this is a safe bet to buy. Read more

The Book of Questions: Revised and Updated
The Book of Questions: Revised and Updated

Review:I normally love these books. This one, however, did not have enough straightforward questions that can be asked of anybody. Some of them are best left to asking oneself and not another person unless you know them very well. There are some really deep and/or convoluted questions. Many of the questions I have to skip because they are not really conducive to having fun with getting to know somebody. Read more

The Wedding Planner & Organizer
The Wedding Planner & Organizer

Review:Bought this for a friend, she thought it was awesome and used it for her wedding. Mindy Weiss is a very successful wedding planner here in Los Angeles and if she says this is how to organize your wedding stuff, I'm sure it's the best way to do it. Read more

The Twenty-five Rules of Considerate Conduct - Choosing Civility
The Twenty-five Rules of Considerate Conduct - Choosing Civility

Review:This is an interesting read, I'm actually reading through it for one of my uni classes and I'm not disappointed at all about paying for this book. This should be required reading for kids growing up, civility is not a common as you would hope unfortunately. Some of the ideas outlined in this book seem like common knowledge, but I would recommend it none the less. Read more

Rick Steves' Italian Phrase Book & Dictionary
Rick Steves' Italian Phrase Book & Dictionary

Review:Great little phrase book -- endless phrases for all sorts of situations. For our 5-day stay in Florence, we didn't need too much Italian, but I still recommend this book if you're going for a visit, no matter how short or long. Read more

12 Conversation Strategies to Build Trust - and Increase Intima cy
12 Conversation Strategies to Build Trust - and Increase Intima cy

Review:DONT BUY THIS BOOK. I read all the reviews before I did and I thought this book would be an amazing addendum to my self work...then I hit a speedbump. Waldemen & Newberg's stance on anger is disappointing. Anger is an emotional reaction that needs to be dealt with. Unfortunately, he does not recommend any strategies..but dismisses it as some aberration that we are afflicted with and he himself has it.....or at least reflects it in his handling of a story about a business and a therapist. I f... Read more

Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish - A Creative and Proven Approach
Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish - A Creative and Proven Approach

Review:This would be an excellent Spanish teaching book, except for one thing. It doesn't tell you exactly how to pronounce the words. If I wasn't already familiar with the Spanish language, having grown up in an Hispanic neighborhood, I'd probably be saying a lot of the words wrong. Other than that, it's a very good book. Just be sure you order some Spanish CDs and/or speak Spanish with native speakers as often as possible. Read more

50 Things Every Young Gentleman Should Know Revised and Expanded
50 Things Every Young Gentleman Should Know Revised and Expanded

Review:My grandson seems to have dysfunctional parents, my son being one of them. He is very self centered and rude. He therefore has no friends and is picked on at school. I feel very sorry for him and try to do things with him and do a little parenting with him when it is just my wife and I, but it will not make up for all the years of neglect. I found this book and read it and gave it to my grandson with a inscription that read to help his success in life as he grows older. I told him that when... Read more

Learn the Best Time to do Everything - The Power of When
Learn the Best Time to do Everything - The Power of When

Review:This book colludes with people who want to be told how to live their lives. The "types" are cliches. And if you take the test more than once (as I did) you may find yourself becoming a different "type." The style and tone and slight defensiveness (because most people won't feel they are one "type") takes grievous advantage of the role of the "expert" in a profession that is not yet a science. Like many diet plans it assumes a nine to five world and is pitched to people in the frantic atmosp... Read more
