Review:"Ichabod" was a good follow up to the first release in the series, "Behold Darkness and Sorrow". Overall, very well written with good character development and realistic bonding between characters as they struggle to adapt to the new world after EMP strikes. The action is fast paced, and realistic (i.e., the main characters can't kill a hundred men with their little pinky). On the plus side, I really enjoy it when the author gives a few ideas for readers to work into their own preparedness ef... Read more
Review:Interesting story, although a little far fetched. Stream of consciousness technique. Everyman learns lessons by living his life. Charles James' pearl was his soul and his soul mate,
Monica. So far, Charles lost both of them. Is route 66 Charles pilgrimage home??? Read more
Review:All the Sandy Cove books are outstanding. As I finish each one I look forward to the next in the series. The author's understanding of many of life's details is amazing. For example she knows exactly all that a middle school teacher does and feels and how an older person's body can fail as the mind remains sharp. She also has a deep understanding of living as a Christian in today's world. Read more
Review:I know that there are some negative reviews for this book, but I read this not expecting this book to be this century's War and Peace, To Kill a Mockingbird, Moby Dick, etc. I enjoyed the telling of the story of a friendship of two girls and the differences in their backgrounds. I enjoyed reading and understanding Christian references of the book as it relates to the circumstances of the book. I look forward to reading the other two books in this series. Read more
Review:I enjoyed this Christian novel with its overall theme of doing for others. Left with a newborn after the death of his mother, Ella next seeks a wet nurse. She leaves behind a respectable, but not a desirable job, finds herself labeled as a harlot, an opportunist, and a deceiver, but stays focused on what was best for the infant. Part of the Christian theme was her learning who she was to God. The story is well-written, has suspense elements that kept me guessing, gave an indication of what South... Read more
Review:I received a copy of VANISHING POINT by Lisa Harper from Revell IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. This is part of the Nikki Boyd series.
I found this book to be incredibly interesting. Usually books about cases are quick. The mystery is solved within a few hours and a couple falls in love. Instead, this book takes place over years. You get to realize the ins and outs of law enforcement cases. This would be an excellent book for someone thinking about going into law enforcement to re... Read more
Review:Well-written, enjoyable story. The characters were well defined, the pace smooth, and the story good. I look forward to reading more of her books. One caveat: I wish she'd learn the proper use of quotation marks. Read more
Review:I loved this book. The characters and the story. There was suspense along with interesting family dynamics. She tried to keep it real and I appreciate that. Life is interesting and not everyone is perfect! Read more

Review:"Second Chance," by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, is the second book in their "Left Behind: The Kids" series of young adult novels. These books are rooted in fundamentalist Christian theology. This novel takes place after an event known as the Rapture. According to the book, all true Christians mysteriously disappeared from the earth during this Rapture, and those people remaining on earth will eventually face an apocalyptic nighmare.
This sounds like the stuff of intense, sweaty-palmed dr... Read more
